Check if your phone works with a SIM card. These steps are for most phones that use SIM cards. If you're unsure about compatibility, check with your device manufacturer.
- Turn off your phone by pressing the power button for 3 seconds.
- On the side of your phone, find the small hole and insert the SIM ejection tool that came with your phone or SIM card.
- On the SIM slot 1 tray, correctly place the new SIM card.
- Restart your device.
    - Hold down the power button for 30 seconds.

- If you use an iPhone, uninstall and reinstall the Google Fi app.
- Open the Google Fi app.
- To activate the phone on the new SIM card, follow the on-screen instructions.
Troubleshoot SIM card issues
- If you insert your SIM card and your phone says "No SIM card," remove your SIM. Make sure it's clean and placed on the tray correctly. To properly insert a SIM card, you can review the instructions above. Restart your device by holding down the power button for 30 seconds.
- Make sure your device isn’t carrier locked and is compatible with Google Fi.
- Double-check that you're using a Google Fi SIM card.
- If you're transferring from another carrier, try to insert your previous SIM card. If your phone recognizes it, but not your Google Fi SIM card, your phone might be carrier-locked. Contact your previous carrier for more information.
