Fairies

Hello good morning everyone. It's back to work today and as I was saying yesterday, today I have two posts as well... but this, just for the month of May only.. of course wouldn't mind if it were for more than one month he he .. check out my next post and you'll see why :D..
So first up is my DT card for the new challenge at
The theme for this week is
FAIRIES

Such a fun and easy theme I think, loved it and was also a great opportunity for me to use again this cheeky fairy from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps. I had so much fun colouring her with my promarkers and then I added stickles to finish her off.

For my card today I used a gorgeous hearts border die from Crafty Sentiments, LOTV sentiment, Martha Stewart leaf punch, magazine freebie papers and a Marianne Creatables die behind the fairy. Can you see all the texture on this? and on the leaves and papers as well? Check out my TIP here to see how I did it!! .. and don't forget to leave me a comment if you like my tip. Thank you :D

We are this week sponsored by the fabulous Joanna Sheen and winner get£10 voucher from the store.

Spots or Stripes

I'm back...  with my DT card now for the new challenge at Crafty SentimentsThe theme for this week is Spots or Stripes.. such a fun challenge I think... I loved it and I could use some new papers that I had bought from the NEC in March.

The gorgeous image that I used is Garden Flowers from the last Spring Release and I coloured it with my promarkers. If you would like to know how I did the texture on the main image, as I had used plain white card, just check out my TIP here.

As from this week there has been some changes at Crafty Sentiments and so we are now two teams, which means that I'll now be having a DT card for Crafty Sentiments every fortnightly. .. but of course the Challenge will still be weekly. The prize for the winner this week is 3 digis from the store and remember if you use a CS image you have an extra chance of winning another digi.

A Tip

I managed to do some fun blog hopping yesterday... of course not enough.. but hey I miss you so much and I do need some ME time and the inspiration... Right???  :D .. I do feel a bit better too after hopping along  .. and I will definitely find some more time next week again yay

Anyway, I'm here today without a card but have a TIP to share with you, which I am also submitting for Top Tip Tuesday as well. My Tip is to show you how you can make your own textured card.. just like the linen card, with just a piece of cloth and your die-cutting machine!!! Interested? Then read on.. very simple.

Layer the cloth in between the plates, I added two pieces of the card as it wasn't that thick, and then pass through the machine.

This is the result

and this how the card was before.. just plain and smooth.

I also tried layering it in between the embossing mats.
And here is a good result again.

.. I've been using this method for some time now as on these cards.. the blue card on this one..

the pink card on this card

and all the white card on this one as well.

I found this piece of cloth that I used while sorting out my craft room last time.. remember I had mentioned that I found some stuff while clearing up.... YES I do keep all sorts of stuff!.. and this is another thing I found.. an old plastic folder which my kids had used for school. I had kept it too!!! .. BUT found good use to it now :D

I cut a piece from it and layered it as before and passed it through the machine.

This is the result ..

and this is a card I did using this method. ..the blue card. Go to the original posts of these cards for a closer look at the textured cards.

I hope you like my tip and try it out. I also have some pieces left from the cloth and from the blue plastic, I think I can cut out about six or more pieces. ..  so if you would like a piece, just leave me a comment on this post letting me know you'd like a piece.

Thank you for looking.
Hope you are having a nice weekend.

Embossing a straight line without a score board

I've had so much interest on my embossing tip from yesterday here .. thank you so much .... BIG SMILE :D ... that I was suggested to upload some photos to explain myself better.. so here goes..........

This is the CD Box that I used.

You will use the groove on the inside of the CD box and of course you need an embossing tool.

Place the card right-side facing down as in the picture,  holding it tight. Start embossing the line..

........ slowly and lightly at first until you find the groove ... embossing down til the end.

When you do all the line you can go back up and down for a second or third time until the line is raised enough.

Repeat this for all sides.

Here is my card again which I did using this method to emboss a straight line.

Hope you like it and find it useful.

Thank you for looking today.

Wishing you a lovely Sunday

White on White

I had computer problems yesterday.. and big ones too... I was just about to print off some digis when poof .. electricity went off! That was ok .. I said, or thought so..... but that was not ok, because when it finally came back and I switched it on again, it said that a system file was corrupted and of course, didn't switch on! So I called hubby and he said that it was possible that we could have lost everything!! Aaaah my worst nightmare. .... so you can imagine how I spent the rest of the day waiting for him to come home.. which is always so late! Anyway, the good thing was that I didn't lose anything phew.. false alarm, but it was a tough job to fix it, because he stayed til late working on it and going online for help and he says he still needs to work on it....

.. lesson from this......... backup !!! Yes do it because this could happen to anyone and so easily too.

I have something to celebrate now ...400 + Followers woo hoo I couldn't believe it this morning and the + too wow! Thank you everyone for making this happen and a big warm welcome to my newest followers too. It is lovely to have you joining me, this means a lot to me. So obviously celebration means candy .... which I will be doing that next week.. so keep a look out woo hoo : )

Ok so onto my card now.... I have a WHITE ON WHITE card today for the newest challenge at Sweet Stampin. I have to admit that I found this challenge really so tough, especially too since it's been such a long time since I did one of these... but then finally I did it and am really so glad I persisted, because I loved how it turned out.

Used one of my LOTV images today, thought a wedding card would be ideal for this theme. Coloured it with my promarkers and then added glitter on her dress and flowers. Doesn't show much though.

The sentiment is from a Forever Friends stamp set, as I couldn't find the LOTV ones that came with the set!!! .. .. yes 'lost'! Hope I find it soon!

... and I have a tip now for the TOP TIP TUESDAY - if you don't have one of those boards with which you emboss lines, use the groove of a CD box when it's open. I still haven't got me one of those boards, but I find this works just fine when you need to emboss just one line like I did on my card here. Hope you like  my tip :)

We are this week sponsored by Bunny Zoes
