Thursday 13: the Mommy edition

This is Mommy (and daddy is with her), and we are doing her Thursday Thirteen this week:

1. [Donny:] She is very, very, VERY tall. Like six feet. It is strange to see a very tall female.
2. [Casey:] She is also Chinese. It is very strange to see a six foot tall Chinese female.
3. [Marie:] She is the one who feeds us. Therefore, we like her *very* much.
4. [Donny:] She likes to carry us kitties Me, I'm getting used to it. Marie hates it and Casey craves it.
5. [Casey:] She had a kidney disease, which destroyed her kidneys.
6. [Marie:] She was on dialysis for two weeks because she couldn't wait for the transplant operation. She had to go to ER for a temporary dialysis line. We were scared.
7. [Donny:] Her transplant operation was just over 13 months ago. Daddy was the donor. (The picture above is mommy and daddy a few days after the operations.)
8. [Casey:] She works full-time now, so we don't get to see her as much as we think we should....which is 100% of the time.
9. [Marie:] She was a ballroom dancer. Now she just watches the dance shows.
10. [Donny:] She doesn't really know how to cook. Sometimes she gets lucky with dinner.
11. [Casey:] She became a cat lover only after she met daddy. She was (still is) a dog lover.
12. [Marie:] She has extensive conversations with us all the time.
13 .[Donny:] She caters to our every need. We are still working on her to let us go outside whenever we want....

Ah! So much hard work doin' this, it's time for a nap:

White Wednesday - the REAL Cat Stretch

Poor Casey is extremely embarrassed right now. She was wanted so much to share an excellent and relaxing pilates move with everykitty and esp. her meezer furriends. BUT....she (or rather MOMMY) misheard the name of the pose and called it a "cat stretch". Well....here's what a REAL cat stretch looks like, as demonstrated by me:


and not the TWO pictures that Casey demonstrated on her post from Monday. The pose she was showing is called the shell stretch, similar to a child's pose in yoga. So she did correct her post to name the correct pose. She says sorry to all her furriends.

This used to be Casey's cat bed....but we love being in it together, even though it doesn't fit the two of us!

Meezer Monday

[Casey:]
Every Tuesday, Mommy takes this Pilates class. She really, really likes it. Sometimes she practices some of the moves at home. One of them is a move everykitty should be drooling over. It's called the shell stretch, and this is how it looks:

It's very important to practice this stretch....especially all you Meezers out there. That way we can remain long and lean and limber....and most importantly, relaxed. And you can dream about tasty seafood while doing it. Try it sometime!

Scarey Sunday...and Tagged by Marilyn MonREOW

Miss Sara was so pawesome as to share this great Youtube video about the kitty watching the "guys on the treadmill" video.

She reminded me of a picture that mommy took of us some months ago just as we were getting settled down to watch Doctor Who, the family's favourite tv show. Here are me and Casey getting comfortable while watching Doctor Who:


It was the episode last season to do with the Cybermen. It was real spooky, all these pple whose emotions were being inhibited, and lots of scary equipment to put their unemotional consciousness in these robot bodies.

At one point, there was so much going on, with lots of fire and smoke and explosions and flashing colour lights and pple screaming and Cybermen walking out from the smoke and shadows, closing in on Doctor Who and Rose, that we were so scared!


Casey was terrified and so was I!!! But she held my paw tightly to reasssure that it was ok, that it was only a show.

Luckily all that didn't last much longer. But then we got bored after such terrifying fun, and wandered off to find some excitement aka trouble.

So here is my Confessions list:

1. Casey is now able to "kick my butt" in play fighting. It's totally not cool.
2. I can climb the hutch with ease. Daddy is never pleased with that accomplishment.
3. I eat toilet paper when I can get it. Mommy rarely lets me, however.
4. When mommy gets up, I cry and lead her to the water closet (the human litterbox).
5. I am most affectionate with mommy when she is in the water closet. And bed. Nowhere else.
6. I can jump, turn 180 deg mid-air, and land on top of Donny. It's my fighting strategy.
7. I have sprayed poop recently on daddy's flatscreen monitor. Daddy was not amused.
8. I peed on mommy's and daddy's bed when I was a kitten.
9. I like to carry my toys to mommy's and daddy's bed and play with them there.
10. I talk back to mommy. Always.
11. I am intensely curious of the outdoors. I will even cry to go outside.
11. At the same time, I am very scared of the outdoors - I don't stay outside long.
12. Donny and I playfight several times a day.
13. I did get very upset with Donny once and scratched his face. He was ok.
14. I took off with the shift key on mommy's keyboard when it popped out one time.
15. I played hide and seek with mommy and daddy and this shift key. I hide, they seek!
16. I have so quietly followed mommy into her closet that I was cooped up in there all day while they were at work!
17. I gave mommy a piece of my mind when she returned home and discovered with great guilt that I was in her closet all day.
18. I have rested on top of the medicine cabinet.
19. I have also jumped up to the top of the shower stall (7.5 ft from the ground), and then fell into the shower.
20. I was ok, despite the fall. I just gave mommy a piece of my mind and tried to jump on the counter so I could go to the top of the shower again!

Whew! That was a lot!

Saturday Photo Hunters: Colourful

This week's theme is "Colourful". As you know being a white kitty, there is hardly any way I can be colourful at all. So I did the next best thing.....


...parked my butt on mommy's nice pink robe and on her nice warm lap. Well ok, the picture was about 1.5 years ago, but still! This is about as colourful as I can get....

I decided to join Weekend Cat Blogging over at the House of the (Mostly) Black Cats....coz I get to join all my kitty furriends and find out what's all the fun-fun-fun!!

PS. You guys were all so sweet to try and guess who's who in our White Wednesday's post....even if in the end a lot of you couldn't tell us apart. That's okay tho...mommy and daddy even now have trouble telling us apart!

Just so I don't keep you kitties in suspense....Rosie got it right...I was the one on the left sleeping "right side up" in the photo, and Donny was sleeping upside down on the right.

Wordless White Wednesday - Guess who's who???

Marie's Favourites Meme

Marilyn MonREOW tagged me for the Favourites Meme. Here are my favourites:

Time of Day: Treat time! I love food, but I will do anything for treats!!!!

Day of the week: I like Sunday, or Saturday....or any day of the week Mommy is home. More treats!!!!

Season of the year: I like summer. I can go outside lots and lots of times, even though I get scared easily and don't stay out very long.

Holiday: Christmas! Everyone I love is home, they give me gifts...and more importantly, they give me treats!!!!

Beaches: What's a beach? Can I eat it?

Song: Ave Maria.

Flower: Mommy has this pretty orchid plant that she got as a gift. It produces pretty white orchids with yellow centres. And it's about to produce more orchids again!

Talk show: I watch Casey when she is demanding this and that of mommy and daddy. Is that a talk show?

Movie: Aristocats I guess. There is a pretty white kitten named Marie with blue eyes...and she likes pink! She looks *just* like me, only I am NOT snooty, and most definitely NOT stuck-up.

Soaps: I don't care what brand of soap - I would never use it. I hate baths!

Beverage: Catnip latte. I always have it when I hang out with my furriends at the Foreign Legion or at the Late Late Show.

Fruit: I don't like fruit. Ick.

Snack: Kitty Kaviar...oh my goodness, they are DA BOMB!!!

Food: Wellness Turkey and Salmon wet food. Can't get enough of it!

Restaurant: Chey Mommy!

Meezer Monday

[Casey] Dearie, I thought Donny and Marie would be hogging the blog all the time...and never let me get a word in edgewise!

Luckily, there is a Meezer Monday....to celebrate me and all my meezer furriends. A shoutout to all of you!

Today is a special Monday for me, because it is Victoria Day. They say it's to celebrate Queen's birthday. I dunno anything about that...but I do know two things:

1. *I'm* the Queen 'round here, despite Donny's bossing me around.
2. Today means that mommy and daddy will be home - hooray! Lots of attention for me!

Think I'm gonna relax now.....

The reality is....my mommy, she can't cook. She only finally started learning last year when she was a few months off on sick leave from work. But that's a whole other story.

Soooo....to make this a legit Saturday Photo Hunt - and since it is a Saturday morning - here is a mushroom frittata, which mommy occasionally makes on the weekend. Enjoy!

Thursday 13 + 1: the Donny and Casey Show

Isn't this cool? Me and Casey are gonna do the 7 Random Things about Me...together!! And, we gonna roll it into the Thursday 13 too, this is gonna be so rad! Thanks to the Mr. Hendrix and Bendrix for tagging us for this fun meme(s)!

So...here are the 7 Random Things about Me:

1. I have the loudest, saddest meow that tugs at the heartstrings and gets me all the love and attention I want. Mommy is especially taken by my meow.

2. Any toy with feathers drive me CRAZY!!!! That includes the birds in the sky and especially the pigeons hanging out on the next door neighbour's roof (that's a story in itself!!)

3. I like to boss my sisters Marie and Casey around, and pick fights with them whenever possible. Of course...they are only playfights. I would NEVER hurt them!

4. I am a sensitive guy. Mommy only has to raise her voice at me and I run away and get very sad and it takes a LOT of petting and love before I am back to my old self again.

5. I am a 100% gentleman. I sit and wait for my food by the food dish. I let my sisters eat first and I will sit and watch them, even if I got there first. I can eat cat food with my paws and will wash my paws before drinking the water. I even cover up the food and drink when I am done with them.

6. I am truly a momma's boy. At least I act the part....

7. Coz, I insist on spending quality time with daddy by making him come to bed with me, so that he can pet me and pay attention to me, and I reward him by purring my loudest and sitting next to him.

8. I am not sure that I am a true Siamese, as I have a very furry and fluffy coat. In particular my chest is very, very fluffy.

9. I have been abused by a man in a black leather bomber jacket. I go crazy scared everytime I see such a guy, even though it has been years and I know mommy and daddy won't let them harm me. That is the ONLY time I have ever scratched my mommy.

10. When I was young - only a year old! - I climbed a 2 storey high tree for the first and last time in my life.

11. That would be the last time in my life I climbed a tree, because when I wanted to come down, I realized it was next to impossible. So I had to slide down the tree...on my butt. Yeah....that was the last time, EVER....

12. A squirrel saw me and my mommy at the 2 storey window of our house, and it climbed up to the topmost branches of that tree...scrambled almost to the end of that branch...and proceeded to lecture me and my mommy for 20 minutes straight from that tree branch. The audacity!

13. I am so embarrassed to admit this...but I have the weirdest, stinkiest pee imaginable. It's so bad, even the clumping kitty litter refuses to clump when I pee.

+1. I have the full Siamese attitude: tall, proud, elegant, demanding. Yes, I deserve to be treated like a Queen!!

Seven Random Facts About Me

I was tagged today to do the Seven Random Facts About Me meme! Thanks to monty q. cat, the meezer gang, and chairman mao for tagging me - gives me an opportunity to finally talk about me! mememe!


Rules

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own blog about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your blog!

Seven Random Facts About Me:

1. First of all, I am a lady.

And a cute one at that. This is despite my ferocious name. I walk daintily, I tilt my head just so to maximize cuteness without sacrificing elegance, and I sit prettily for any picture I want, when I want.

2. Donny is my clean-up crew.

Being a lady, I hate to dirty my paws at any time. This means I have a distaste for touching the contents of the litterbox (for good reason, don't you think?). Sure, I go through the motions after doing my business, but mostly I like to scratch the edge of the litterbox a little *just* to show it wasn't for a lack of trying and then jump away from the smelly mess. With a swish of my tail, I summon Donny over to cover it up. Sometimes, he is too efficient though....sometimes, I'm not quite done yet - and he's already trying to cover it up!!!

3. My mommy thought I was unable to talk when I was a kitten.

At first, she thought I was "dumb" (ie. can't talk) b/c for almost a year I didn't say a peep. But then when it was almost a year, I developed a wide range of chirps, peeps and meows. Oh yeah, and of course, growls, hisses and screams when I need to be the Defender! ;) I have gone from the quietest kitty to the most vocal one. I even talk to mommy when I protest! But that's for the next point....

4. I am the most rebellious kitty.

Perhaps you may find this hard to believe with my good looks, cute demeanour and ladylike elegance...but it's true! Of course, I maximize my advantages for my objectives, but sometimes mommy just won't let me have my way! So when all else fails, I am totally going for it. Mommy has counted one time that she said "NO" six times before I would stop. And even then - that was only a pause in my quest to have it my way! When finally she succeeds in stopping me, I *must* have the last word, complaining loudly as I walk away....

5. I love to groom....everykitty and everyone!

Grooming is my hobby and my way of expressing love...and sneaking in my domination, hehehe! As a kitten, I constantly groomed Donny whenever we hung around, sleeping, sitting...even if we happened to be walking by each other. When Casey finally accepted me and let me join her in hanging around, I would groom only if she let me....and she would let me know. Mommy and daddy I also "groomed"; I lick my mommy's hand every morning when I jump on the bed to greet her.

6. Although I am a white kitty with blue eyes, I can HEAR.

Listening, however, is another story. My listening is *very* selective. ;)

Right from the time of adoption, pple kept saying that I could be deaf, or that I was deaf. THEY ARE WRONG. I can hear very well, thank you very much. Mommy tested my hearing by clapping here and there behind her back (where I couldn't see her hands)...and I immediately turned my ears to the direction of the sound. When she did this a few times in different places and I turned my ears to each of those directions, she knew I could hear.

7. I bring my fuzzy jingly balls up to the top of the stairs and drop them.

For a while, I enjoyed doing that every night right after my parents went to bed. At some point, I figured out that if I dropped my balls from the top of the stairs, they would bounce down the stairs and I could chase them down. How fun!

Thursday Thirteen: the Casey edition!

Last week, it was all about Donny. This week, let me share a few things about Casey...

1. Casey is a beautiful Meezer diva.




2. To maintain her glamorous diva image, she must groom and preen herself to perfection:



3. Sometimes, maintaining that flawless look requires some awkward positioning...how un-diva-like!



4. Casey is a heat seeker. In winter, she will stick close to the heater as much as she can.



5. Casey is a tough gal. She has been through a lot before she was rescued and adopted by mommy and daddy.



6. Casey was not happy that I liked to be close to her:



7. But despite that, very early on, she was kind enough to stay for a kitty group photo:



8. Casey now doesn't mind me anymore!



9. Casey is a true big sis, she holds my paw during scarey shows like some Doctor Who episodes to help me feel better!



10. And she makes an excellent pillow for Donny!




11. She loves hanging out in the backyard with daddy.




12. And although she and our big sis angel kitty Missy were sworn enemies, she and Missy did spend some important quality time together, basking and napping in the sun.



13. But best of all, she became a relaxed big sis that I revere and look up to, taking it real easy with us:

WOW!!! I was so surprised to see so many lovely kitties come and visit me! Thank you all for putting down such nice comments in the last couple of entries, and for linking me too.
