THE CAT AND THE BIRDS AND SOME CLEANUP

She was in this box before the packing was out of it....

Definitely a favorite "toy"....

This bird is unable to straighten out its legs.

I'm not sure what's working in it's feet..I don't think it 

can grasp its' perch.

Is this a juvenile Cardinal??

The garden behind my house needed some serious attention....which it got!

I wasn't able to do it but I knew who to go to...

MORE STORM DAMAGE

 

Here it is a little over a week after the storm and the many piles of limbs, leaves and brush are just being picked up.               It has taken that long to get thru the big things.

I want to thank my friend and neighbor Beth Shank for sharing her  pictures with me and allowing me to share                                      them with you.

IT LOOKS LIKE A WAR ZONE ! STORM DAMAGE..

Last Saturday evening we had a horrific storm with 60mph winds and heavy rain.

Living in a heavily treed area, it was a little scary.

Most of out trees are old and not in the best shape so there was a lot of damage.

 

This branch came from a tree 50 feet away and on the side of my house..I think it bounced off of my roof..... It was moved on to my lawn so the street was not obstructed. I think it was done by our security guys.

 

The next day the three small branches from a Maple in the back were added to the pile by me...

These are the breaks in the little Maple in the back  (Zoey's window).

 My stepdaughters husband was kind enough to smooth off the rough edges..as you can see,

there's a critic everywhere! 

Here you can see the big space in the tree where the limbs were.

(Between the bird feeders.)

The limbs are in the foreground in front of the hose.

That was my damage..

It has been five days and they haven't gotten to the little stuff.

This week I finally found a bush I have been trying to replace for three years. You have to get them from a nursery that supplies landscaping businesses..They do not sell to the public.

It had to be this bush to match another.

TaDa!!

Towards the bottom of the picture you will see the space

where it  is to go.

I hope it's happy in it's new home!

AREN'T I CUTE ?

Look at those fat little cheeks !!

Me thinks they are hiding sunflower seeds.

Squirrel proof but not Chippie proof...He's not heavy enough.

"And what has Zoey been up to ?" you ask.

Last week I ordered some freeze dried minnows

 for her as  a treat.

She just loves them..Me? not so much.

Most things make her sick but these didn't.

I closed the bag and put them in the kitchen cabinet over my towels.

Boy ! Do they stink!!! Double bagging was necessary.

Not long after that I walked back in to the kitchen to this sight!

She has never done that before...It took me a day to figure out

that she had been trying to get into the cabinet..I moved the fish.

That didn't help..she had found a new game!

It became necessary to purchase a new towel holder.

I prefer the old style but this works,

Still painting. Doing this for a friends daughter..

This house has texture everywhere..not an afternoon job!!!

 

I finished the easiest parts last weekend....

(2 weeks ago) and finished it up last weekend..
