1. Below are birds seen in my yard on April 8th, the male and female Eastern Bluebird and the second mosaic is the White-throated Sparrow. The bluebirds eat mostly insects and berries.

April 8th, I see a lot of White-throated Sparrows in my yard. When I go out on my deck, they fly up close expecting me to put out some food for them.

2. April 10, Miney watching the waves from a passing fishing boat on the lake.

3. I've been seeing the Bluebirds at the birdhouses every day now. They are one of my many favorite birds, I am happy they are nesting in my yard.

4. April 18th, our walk to the lake I opened my Merlin app, a new first of the season Blue-gray Gnatcatcher. The app captured four of the woodpeckers heard in the forest next to our home, the Pileated Woodpecker, the Downy and Hairy Woodpecker and the Red-bellied Woodpecker.

5. April 18th, images from our walk to the lake.

6. We celebrated an early Easter and lunch with the family, it is always a joy to spend time with the grandchildren.

7. April 20th, A view of our Dogwood tree and the Redbud tree blooming. Bottom row is the Eastern Bluebird and a White-throated Sparrow.

April 20th on Easter Sunday we took a walk to the lake, I saw a juvenile Bald Eagle in Flight and a small group of Double-crested Cormorants. I heard my first of the season Northern Parula.

April 20th, back in our yard I captured the male Northern Cardinal.

April 21st, we found our trash can across the yard, the trash all torn apart, apparently the night before a bear visited our yard.  Miney was barking like crazy that night, we had no idea she heard the bear on the deck.

8. Below are a couple of favorite birds from my archive files, from May 2020 and May 2021.

From May 2020, a Baltimore Oriole seen at the Hashawha Nature Park in Carroll County Md. The Baltimore Oriole is Maryland's State bird.

A Baltimore Oriole at the Prettyboy Reservoir, May 2022. He is a bright orange, so pretty.

From May 2021, my first sighting of a Red-headed Woodpecker in my backyard.  I have not seen a Red-headed Woodpecker in my yard since this sighting.

Red-headed Woodpecker

I was happy to see this beautiful Red-headed Woodpecker on my deck railing.

Happy Memorial Day weekend! Remember and Honor! Be safe, this holiday weekend!

Another post of mish-mash images and dates, I am still behind sharing.

1. April 1 in my backyard I was still seeing the Eastern Bluebirds. I hope they were using my birdhouse for their nest. Isn't he beautiful?

2. April 1st, our backyard Daffodils were looking pretty.

3. April 1st, my Merlin app was on while walking Miney on our local fire road. Below are some of the birds I heard on our walk.

4. Miney is great at climbing over the down trees on the trail.

5. April 4th, the Merlin app list of birds heard on our fire road walk at Prettyboy.

6. April 4th, Miney on our walk on the local Prettyboy fire road.

7. My flashback images from May 2019, looking out my window to see 3 Pileated Woodpeckers in my backyard.

From last year, March 2024 the Pileated Woodpecker was pecking away at a tree next to our yard. The male has the extra red stipe on it's cheek.

8. May 2019, flashback to a getaway to Shenandoah National Park, I saw this pretty Indigo Bunting sitting in a tree next to the overlook on Skyline Drive. The Indigo Bunting has a small bill compared to the Grosbeaks.

From May 2023, we see a lot of the Indigo Buntings and Blue Grosbeaks at the Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware. The Blue Grosbeak has a rust color on it's wings and a heavier beak.

I am linking up to Heidrun's Mosaic Monday  I hope you can stop by and visit Heidrun and check out the Mosaic Monday post.
