Nude Party Tape Manicure

I did a really fast (and sloppy) tape mani the other day. I wanted to do some cute nude nail art and to use Cult Nails Happy Endings which I hadn't used yet. I think it turned out cute even though I had a huge chunk of glitter stuck into the polish of my index finger O_O

I thought it would look cool to have a nude that matched my skin pretty good and then add a spike of color up from the ends. I used Zoya Helen for the nude and Zoya Paloma (a jelly polish) for the triangle background. I then added Cult Nails Happy Endings to just the triangle.

It kinda looks like an updated 80s style design. :)

Fruity Franken Mani: Still Going Strong

I made this polish awhile back when I saw a Brazilian polish that is very similar on a blog. I had no access to buying it and DIYed it. I added more little glitters than the original but this was the general idea. I used copper and mint green hexes and kelly green mini glitters. It kinda looks like the Essence Fruity color Kiwi a Day (without the big glitters). Super spring-y!

Close up

I wish I remembered the brand and color of the inspiration polish! This is still going strong, though, after 3 days. I am about to go play putt-putt golf with the husband and it ends up that this is a super cute putt-putt mani :) It is also a BEAUTIFUL day out! I am very happy.

NOTD: Windestine Girl With the Best Smile

It is a gorgeous early spring day here in Central Indiana! Time for some finger-jewels :)

I fished in my mini polish box the other day because I have neglected them, ultimately. I found a franken I had made, inspired by OPI Thanks a Wind-Million and Zoya Bevin (the latter of which I have now) which is slightly more blue than those two.

I added Windestine Girl with the Best Smile on top (just one layer). If you have never tried a Windestine polish, what are you thinking?!?! Seriously, Jeweled Sand is a Holy Grail Glitter. It is amazing. So is this one, which is similar to Jeweled Sand but with pink, purple, and light green glitter.

Windestine's small glitter mixes look AWESOME over greyed colors.

BONUS: Photos of Windestine Jeweled Sand over RBL 360, taken in August!

RIP Big Almonds :(

Anyhow, I <3 Windestine so much. I really want to buy her new polish called Wish Upon A Star which is a charity polish for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This charity sent my husband and his family to DisneyWorld when he was little. His brother received a liver transplant at 5 months old. I think they do wonderful work, lifting kids out of the gloomy world of medical problems and giving parents peace, knowing their child can forget about their problems for a little bit and enjoy themselves.

I am proud to be a Windestine customer. She has wonderful polish that applies perfectly. It is also very well designed and feminine.

Review: Rainbow Honey -The Yokai - in Kitsune

Rainbow Honey's The Yokai Collection
October 13th it goes on sale at the above link!

Yokai are spirits in Japanese folklore, which is a WONDERFUL theme for a Halloween nail polish collection from your favorite otaku indie, Rainbow Honey! Well, they are my favorite anyhow :D

Each represent a particular kind of Japanese spirit.

This is a limited edition set of GORGEOUS shimmer/glitters in golden brown with golden flakies and pink/purple sparkle (Oni), maize camel with orange glitter (Kitsune), and a deep navy shimmer with intense silver and rainbow sparkle and flakies (Kawako)

Here is KITSUNE!

From Rainbow Honey's press statement:
"KITSUNE: the magical white fox"

I did not get any photos without topcoat :( It is a lot grittier than ONI was and took 2 coats of GELOUS with some fast dry topcoat on it.

I did get a good idea of how this polish wears because ALL of these photos have at least 4 days of wear. Seems crazy, huh, but look at that GAP ;) I got minimal tip wear, too!

The polish is a bit like China Glaze Classic Camel in the base color (which, full disclosure, I did not like and got rid of) but it has a lot of gorgeous golden shimmer, small orange hexes, small orange holo hexes, and tiny brown glitter. The glitter is what makes the polish dry rough but I forgave it for being so awesome.

Normally, I hate this kind of pale maize camel color but it just seems to...go with me, hehe. I was worried about the holo glitter BUT it seems to only glow orange and green and occasionally gold.

I had to amp up the nail art this time!

Since a Kitsune is a fox spirit, I thought it would be cute to paint a ghost fox! It looks bright but I added some jelly white over it to fade out the color.

oops, this is not using flash but lamplight!

It has two tails to represent its power. They can have up to nine.

Then I mattified it to give it a ghostlier glow

So painting a fox is kinda hard, hehe. I hope it resembles one as much as it can.

How would I rate this polish on a scale of 1-10?
Uniqueness: 10
This is REALLY unique! I mean, how many pale golden yellow polishes with tiny orange and brown glitter have you seen?!

Formula: 6
It was SOO clumpy but I managed to get it on. The edges of my nails were kinda hard to polish because they would get clumpy with the little glitters. It took some wrangling. It also needed 2 coats of GELOUS and top coat to get even.

Payoff: 10
OK, the payoff was worth it. Just look at the photos :D The photos are even 4 days of wear and it is STILL gorgeous. No chips, no peeling, very little tip wear. And the colors SCREAM fall. I mean, this is the perfect polish for going to a pumpkin patch or orchard!

KITSUNE rates a 9 for me by those standards

All 3 polishes were sent to me for my honest review.

Golden Duochromey Goodness

2 posts back to back! It is like I am a blogger again or something. Hehe!

China Glaze Rare and Radiant! When I was wearing this, I went to Meijer and found 2 dupes to this by Maybelline and Sally Hansen...But at least I only paid 3 bucks for this at CosmoProf :D That is still cheaper than both of those brands AND I have 15mL of this stuff. w00t

This is a franken mix I made as I was inspired by adding aqua shred to gunmetal glitters...the golden green was inspired by the main color of this polish and the aqua by the duochrome flash. It also has garnet hexes, purple squares, and copper bar glitter. You can get the glitter mix on the GLITTER MIXES tab at the top of the page! It is called BEST DRESSED.

Editorial, darling.

I made it work!

This is after a day of wear so there is a little tip rub off going on. Still a sweet color. I think it looks good with my skin tone but is a little too flashy for work-wear.

Random recent manis!

I have been trying to use up my untrieds lately, including some frankens I have made and never worn :)

For this one I used Orly Green Apple as a base and stamped with some of my FabUrNails stamping polishes ( I found them!)

I made a big mistake on my ring finger and got tired of re-doing it so I did a weird spiral design O_O

This is my golden shimmer seafoam franken!!

The seafoam franken is the base here. I added stamping to add some more interest. The pointer and ring also have a franken I made (based off Happy Hands Springs but with no holo!)

The thumb shows the glitter franken off; it has green to orange color shifting glitter instead of holo and smaller green hexes

This one is Essence Midnight Date set with Rainbow Honey Mare of the Moon. The flakies don't show well with the flash :(( I put the flakies over Mare of the Moon. It made a GORGEOUS pink shimmer and green flakie dual glow. Looking at it straight on, one side would be glowing green where the flakies were (with some sparse holo glitters) and one side would glow a magenta-pink...absolutely gorgeous. And the CUTE moons!! I love this polish.

The magenta shimmer is VERY subtle on camera!

Are you seeing flakies?!

Flakies plus shimmer?!

The blue underneath Mare of the Moon makes it an indigo color...it is gorgeous <3 <3

I probably ruined it by stamping, but I wanted to try something cute!

This is Mavela Pistachio and Essence No More Drama with the Dollish Polish glitter top coats based off of the Legend of Zelda (Hero of Time and Hylian Princess)

I tried to make it interesting with the scallops, but maybe it is a little too busy, haha

Teal Tuesday: Koi Pond Nail Art

Hello all! I know I have been a bit lazy but I did feel like freehanding some nail art this weekend :)

I am so glad I did. It is so cute.

This will also be my Teal Tuesday manicure (freestyle, even though I have Zoya Zuza and a England St. George) because tomorrow is my wedding anniversary and I won't have time to do any challenges!

Base: China Glaze Flyin' High
Glitter: Rainbow Honey Koi Pond
Fish: WnW White Creme, WnW Black Creme, Zoya Arizona, FingerPaints Cordur-Orange

I thought it looked a little bare so I added
Fish: Venique Havana Glam (for sparkle), WnW Break the Ice (for sparkle)
Lilypads: Sinful Last Chance, NYC High Line Green

and I topped the glitter with NYS Hot Baby Blue to make a very subtle jelly sammitch :)

I wanted them to shimmer at different angles which is why I added shimmery polish :)

I added some Essence Let's Get Lost as water ripples (very subtle) using some acetone to water it down

And finally, with a piece from my etsy store

What do you think? They were easy to paint (I try to have a light hand so i don't mess up too bad) and I think everyone could do it :))
