26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Mixed Tape

This is the 11th manicure of the 26 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

The challenge this fortnight is Mixed Tape.

I was really stuck on what to do.  This is what I ended up with, The two accent nails, I first applied the gold polish and let dry.  Once dry, I applied some striping tape and went over it with the pink.
Result :)

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Blue and Silver

The 40 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge finished a few weeks ago.  It was so much fun doing that, a new nail art every week, and I managed to finish it too.

A New challenge starts this week.  Instead of 52 GNAI's, its been cut down to 26 GNAI's, to be done every fortnight.

The first challenge is Blue and Silver.

Mine was simple enough, but I just could not get the two accent nails right.  It took me two tries and over an hour to do!!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Pink & Lilac Plus Fishbraid

Week 28 of the 52 week 40 Great Nail Art Idea's Challenge.

The prompt for the challenge this week is Pink and Lilac with my personal pattern prompt of Fishbraid.

Colours were easy to choose and the pattern prompt seemed easy enough!  I mean I'd seen plenty of tutorials on how to achieve this look.  How hard could it be???

Well quite difficult as I found!  I just could not get my head round how the braid would work and which colour goes where so as to show a true braid.  I looked at many pictures, tutorials and even practised with pen and paper and even some ribbon.

I gave up in the end and found a great tutorial on a gradient fishbraid, so that is what I ended up doing.

I am not giving up though, this is a personal challenge and I will do a true Fishbraid manicure and post as soon as :)

Pink and Orange Gradient - 6 May 2015

I love doing gradient manicures as you may know if you read my blog.  They are so quick and easy to do (apart from the clean up, if you are messy) but I do it quite carefully so as to get as little on my skin as possible.

And boy did I love this on, bright, springy and sparkly.  I think I may have to do this one again real soon.

Colours above used for the gradient nails, with striping tape for the ring finger and some metal studs.

Colours above for the sparkly middle finger, I used Gilded lily as the base and then sponged on Medallion for extra sparkle.

GOT Polish Challenge Part 2 - Week 10 - With Silver Accent

Week 10 of the GOT2 (Golden Oldie Thursday) Polish challenge over at Crumpet's Nail Tarts. The theme for this week is with silver accent.

I used PIA number 27 (Royal Blue) which I have had for a about 2 years, isn't it just lush?  For the silver accent nail I used striping tape over a bare nail and painted it silver.  I only used SV on the accent nail, didn't need to on the blue, it was shiny enough.

Items used:
OPI Nail Envy
PIA - 27 (Royal Blue)
Nails Inc - Soho Silver
Striping Tape
Seche Vite

A Rosy Skittlette

Well the Christmas Holidays are over and it was back to work/school today.  Though I was not looking forward to getting up while still dark and having to endure all day at work, I thought I would wear a nice and breezy manicure to cheer me up.

I was all set to go, but finding all my stuff was not easy.  My daughter had had a clear out for the Christmas hols and things were everywhere.  I found the box I was after, got out the things I needed, went to put the box back, it slipped and did not want to go back in its place and I ended up snapping the whole of my index nail (which I might add I had been gluing together for the best part of about 3 weeks). I also broke an edge of my middle finger.  So they are even shorter than before.

But personally I think the design I have on is much better on these shorter nails, so I won in the end.
Anyway, onto the manicure, the top photo shows the skin still on my index finger, too painful to cut off so it had to stay.

...... in this picture I photo shopped the skin out.
Items Used:
China Glaze - Agent Lavender - for the base on nails from pinky to index
For the Roses I used Sinful Colors Easy Going, China Glaze Dance Baby and Nails Inc Shoreditch.  For the leaves I used OPI Don't Mess with OPI.
The glitter on the pinky is LA Girl Rockstar Overdose.
On the thumb I used CG Dance Baby, taped it off with striping tape and did a coat of CG AL.
Topped it all off with a coat of SV and voila.

Sally Hansen Nails

Still on catch up from September this year!  Here I am wearing Sally Hansen - Thinking of Blue and on the ring finger Sally Hansen - Crinoline (with tob dots and and dotted over with crinoline).  I liked this a lot, if I do say so myself.

Then a few days later I changed the whole manicure with some random striping tape.
