Looking at Puerto Vallarta Jalisco maybe five miles south.

On this blogger site one can click on all pictures except for the header above two times each time making them larger which is a feature I like because it gives you the ability to really look very close at all kinds of things not readily seen.

Today About 11

It's 81 and been perfect all day. There has been few inclement days in the time since the last post. I have not seen any pictures or should say chances at pictures. What I see is the same things and all of you have seen that too and more than once.

It's different here. Don't misunderstand that where I moved from in NW Colorado is not very pretty now either. It's that time of year.

So I post video of no particular redeeming value whatsoever other than this is the way it was in my neck of the woods when I went for a ride this morning.

In over 20 miles excluding a 1.5 mile jaunt along the interstate came in contact with one vehicle.

I do have a possible scenario for a post. Time is getting short. Think I will leave here a week from tomorrow to hang out on the Front Range a couple days before flying out Wed morning. The scenario involves rock scrambling. We'll see.

Thanks for stopping by. There will be more posting coming up. Pretty sure anyway. That's the plan if there is one.

Sunday Stills - Roads

Welcome and the roads you will see here today are the roads around where I live. Because of lifestyle choices I spend quite of bit of time around home and on these roads.

When possible like to use recent pictures and these are but all were pretty bad and most have been manipulated just so you know. They become illustrative then and gives a cheap out on taking a bunch of crappy pictures.

The route taken on these roads in this series of pictures is marked with red dots in the picture below. The numbers on the same picture (in green)  below correspond to where the picture was taken on this route with that same number on the picture in the top left and that number is red. Too late now. This is a 20 mile loop all gravel except for a short stretch on the interstate.

The second picture is not numbered but is illustrative of distances driven here in the west.

To view this properly you have to click on the pictures to make them larger. That can be done twice. No animals here - I think it's pure road.

To get to this spot where the gate is locked I take either a bicycle or a small motorcycle and drag them under the fence. It's pretty easy really. Call the cops I don't care cuz I'm not going around.

Looking west.

These next five pictures all look to the west covering four miles.

This is just the second time I have ever ridden on an road like this. The first was here as well. I don't like it but you bang this mile and a half out quickly and it's not too bad.  There is not a road there that crosses the interstate. The next one that does is three miles further north and turns this ride into 30 miles.
Headed south and you can see the Spanish Peaks in the distance.

This is a county road and sometimes they go through the middle of where people live.
People aren't too friendly out here but that is normal. We are actually neighbors and I know for a fact we have mutual friends. They tend to go away when you come through. I understand.

Headed south with these two landmarks for hundreds of years looming  in the distance.
Seven miles due east all downhill.

This is actually called The John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway. 64 miles south is the New Mexico state line.

The end.

Xmas Cruise

Traveled down to the front range over the holiday weekend and on Xmas went for a ride ending up maybe 50 miles east of Denver. This particular picture is maybe 10 miles north of Silverthorne. The weather was so nice and no snow unlike the high country here. The sno-pack around Steamboat Springs is at 150% of average.
The resident cat Tigger. He's a good kitty.

I enjoy close ups and and given the blandness outside I'm looking for color. This is kinda fun to look at for a bit.
This shot could be from a bunch of places some far away but it's here in Colorado.
It seemed we had to go a long ways before we really got away from city influence and there were many structures like this. These are not houses when built this large and elaborate.

Remember about clicking on the pictures once and then twice if you want as they get bigger each time. I like the clouds in this one.
We saw two pheasants and having grown up in pheasant country it is always a pleasure to see one of these birds. The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned.
I like this one as well if the tree wasn't quite centered it would be better. In the next you can tell we are quite a ways from the mountains.

This was once a community as there was a couple small buildings as well.
This was a post office at another place like Leader. The name escapes me. There are not many people out here. There were more at one time but agricultural practices changed that.

The directory. Some families have been here as you may well imagine for generations.
We were treated to a pretty decent sunset when we started our return west.

A Few From Today

Went for a short ride as it took me a long time to get organized this morning. In any case ran across a couple things.

I like this one but the one at the top of the page tomorrow is the same guy but may be the best dragonfly picture I've ever taken. 95% of these end up deleted plus don't have many red one so that's good.

Then this fellow walked out onto the road. Pretty good size and didn't have a care in the world. Was still a ways away so this isn't very good. But cool to see for sure.

I put this in because this table sits in a small park on state land that was put together by county employees back 27 years ago. Still usable and the place has been mowed. I'd rather federal funds be made available to keep things like this up rather than keeping up our wars around the world. Know what mean there sapphire.

These guys are real working horses not pets most have around here. They just have the day off is all.
