Last plays with Altair Art papers

Hello All

Since this is my last post for the Altair Art Design Team I thought that I would play around with 2 projects.  The first one is a scrapbooking layout, my usual, I know.  I used all the polka dot papers for this layout.

Amazing for me, I know, but yes, it is a simple little card for Christmas.  I am not a card maker at all and very much admire the talents of those that do, so this is a very quick attempt at a Christmas card.

That is it for me.  I do apologise for the picture quality, but I am currently on the road travelling around New South Wales in Australia for a week.  My greatest thanks to Anka for allowing me to represent her company and her papers.  Keep designing all and do what you have to do to be happy.

One of my most favourite Altair Art papers

Hello All

2nd of December already - how completely crazy!  I don't mind if people get Christmassy now that my birthday has finally passed.  A quick layout today using a variety of papers and ephemera across a wide range of Altair Art papers.  I also used a few funky pieces of Scrap FX chipboard and embossed them to use.  All pretty simple.

That's all, just a quick layout, but don't the little green leaves just look the absolute cutest?  Enjoy your month all, don't get too stressed out doing Christmas things!

Fussy cutting the new Altair Art papers

Hello All

Back again, with a post that is a little late.  Not good at all, however, check out this little piece of loveliness ... Altair Art has released some new papers - awesome, I know!!  The range is called Nightfall and it is full of some rather unusual layouts that should get your creativity churning.

For my first one, I selected the green as my base paper and then I fussy cut the flowers out of another piece and mounted them with double sided tape around the page.  I did spray a bit more green around the die cut elements just to give them a bit of shadow effect.  After that it is the usual layering process until it is finished.  That's it from me for this month, see you early next month.  See a couple of pictures below.

Don't forget to check out the challenge for this month too - lots of fun.

Take care, be good, be kind and most of all, find time to create.  Loads of love, Delia

Keen on Green with Altair Art papers

Hello All,

Almost late with my first layout of the month.  Do you have some creative moments when the design just takes a little longer to finish than others?  Well, this layout was one of those for me and then having a deadline coming down on me causes pressure which is not good for creativity.  I think the message in there is to get my act together earlier - it is just that life is so busy all the time these days and I do not get that considering I live out in rural Australia!

So, this layout I used one of the new Christmas papers as I really wanted to utilise the green of the paper as the photo I am going to put in this layout is one of a child peaking through some leaves and flowers.

To create the photo matte, I used a variety of Altair Art paper scraps from all my various layouts.  I then dug through my die cut pieces and found these groovy squiggles from ScrapFX to use coming out from the image and built on those with flowers and a few other pieces.

Hope you like it, I really do and I cannot wait to put the pic in it when my daughter finally gives it to me!  Enjoy all.  See you later in the month.

My 2nd bit of Christmas for the month

Hello again,

As promised, my second Christmas layout for this month.  Completely different to the last one, with bright, blue colouring encompassing the snowflakes of Christmas.  I didn't actually use the specific AltairArt Christmas papers and picked up a lovely blue and white polka dot paper.  I think this comes from the Ever and Always II.  This was another pretty layout to work on, framed up by the lacy piece of Dusty Attic chipboard in the bottom left hand corner.  I actually had the 'sparkle and shine' theme for this month constantly on my mind and you can see that shines through in this layout too.

See you next month, have fun, Delia

Getting a wee bit Christmassy with AltairArt papers!

Hello All,

So, Altair Art have released their range of Christmas papers and ephemera and they are very lovely papers with some wonderful deep, rich colouring.  It is almost hard to cover them up with decorations.

I did two Christmas layouts for this month, so here is the first for your enjoyment.

This was a pretty layout to work on and I enjoyed my time working on it very much.  I fussy cut all the ephemera out supplied with the Altair Art papers and some I wet down and then scrunched up and dried as you can see to the top right of the white picture area.  Creating a base on the photo matt with cardboard and then mounting this upon 2 straws, I then built up around the outside with various pieces of ephemera, some also from Kaisercraft, plus a piece of Dusty Attic chipboard until finished.

I know it is Christmas early, but you need to get in and have your papers ready as it is not really that far away ...

I will be back on the 16th with a more of a blue layout, but still with the Christmas theme.

smiles, Delia

Wedding papers - new from Altair Art

My second scrapbooking layout for this month is a beautiful pink and gold piece created on the new Altair Art wedding range of papers called "The Beautiful Moments", along with a beautiful piece of chipboard from Dusty Attic and ephemera as provided in the paper pack.  The papers have a beautiful golden cream colour to them, but I did pink them up!

That is it for me this month, may you find some time to be creative before the month is over.

Kindest wishes always, Delia

New papers mean more enjoyment

Altair Art have new papers, The Beautiful Moments Collection which is aimed towards being wedding papers, but the cream colouring lends itself to lots of other uses as well.  The other set is Christmas papers, but I have not delved into them for this month.

So, I pulled out a piece from The Beautiful Moments Collection and decided to go with the wedding theme.  I cut out some of the beautiful ephemera provided with the papers and ripped papers and got my base layout right and then it is just a simple matter of building up your photo area with flowers and string, cut out pieces of ephemera and so much more.  The word "Beautiful" is simply inked after painting it with Inka gold first to give it the beautiful shimmer that it now has.  I thought the sentiment was perfect to go with not only the layout, but the actual set of papers!

That is it for today, don't forget to check out the new challenge for this month as well and join in with your amazing artwork.  Have a lovely week all.

smiles, Delia

Layouts for new babies

So, these designs are in alignment with our theme to be announced on the 5th of this month, but no early info being given out here!

I have done a layout for a boy and one for a girl.  I shall show you the layout for the girl today and save the other one for my 17th post.  I used any of the Altair Art papers that were pink and cut them down into squares either 1 or 2 inches square.  I then inked the edges on some of them only as I did not want all of them to have a bit of extra texture.  I prepped my white page with the clear gesso and then laid out my squares gluing them down with Mod Podge.  A little bit of stencilling using some white modelling paste and then I grabbed my Lindy's Magicals "oom pah pah pink".  I selected a beautiful piece of Dusty Attic chipboard, embossing it with a couple of different pinks and some gold.  I chose some pieces of ephemera and laid them out along with various flowers and pulled it all together until it was finished.

All done, I hope you like it.  Take care all.  Some pictures below.
