Widely recognized as one of Canada’s premier harp players, Steve has toured and performed at prestigious festivals, concert halls and clubs in Canada, the US, UK and Australia with acoustic bluesman Harry Manx. He’s appeared on a number of other artists’ recordings including Harry Manx, JW Jones Blues Band, The Junk Yard Dogs, and Big Daddy G. When it comes to the blues the term “refreshing” isn’t used too often because not many blues albums refresh the genre. Steve Marriner did just that – he made the same old blues sound fresh and intriguing. His singing is strong and confident; his harp playing is tasty and imaginative and so are all songs on this well produced album. Guest appearances by Sue Foley on guitar make this CD even more interesting.
