Cozy Pillows for Winter

Hello everyone,
I promised to share with you my cozy pillows.
COZY with birds on a branch
The pillow was a Christmas gift
from my granddaughters.
They buy for the blog...I love them so much.
My cozy pillow is surrounded by repurposed pillows.
The faux fur pillows on the end of the sofa were accessory pillows
on the sofa. Before the holidays
I bought a 50" x 60" throw at Target for $24.99.
Last week I cut the throw into two separate pieces and
sewed the edges together by hand. If I want
to change the pillows I will just cut the bottom seam open
and remove the pillows and make new pillow covers
The gold print pillows are pillow covers I bought at Walmart last year.
The dark brown pillows I bought on clearance after the holidays at
Walmart for $4.99 each. Now my sofa is very cozy and comfy.
A closer look at my coffee table vignette
I love my new pillows and they are so cozy.
When the fire is burning and I snuggle up on the sofa
I LOVE my home.
Now I have living room pillow love and Cozy pillows for Winter.

Living in Winter Comfort

Hello everyone,
Let's get cozy @ My Cozy Corner.
Let's continue my Winter home tour. The mantel is decorated for winter Go Here
I brought in oak wood for the fireplace. We have lived in our home since 1968 and
1990 was our last remodel. In the past three years we have updated the living room, master bedroom
and kitchen-dining room.  I want to share our kitchen update soon.
But today it's all about the living room in the Winter.
We spend most of daily living in our living room We have a large television and two
nice big recliners to sit comfortably across from the fireplace.
I have a blend of elements that make our room feel cozy and inviting.
Brass lamps, wood paneling and things that bring back fond memories.
Candle and Yuletide Camellias make
a colorful vignette on my coffee table.
I have a real fir tree in a little red pot and a
vase filled with silver tipped pine cones
and glass mercury bird on top. And my favorite thing is my
new COZY  pillow I received as a gift for Christmas.
Last week I added more cozy pillows and with our new
Roasted Barley carpeting installed last Spring our home
has a warm and Cozy feeling.
What a big difference from the holiday decorations, a month ago.

A New Year's Wreath

Hello everyone,
Happy New Year to you all. Today is the 7th day of January and I have
taken all the Christmas decorations down. Now I will store them
away in the garage for another year.

2015 was an exciting and interesting year at
My Cozy Corner
I know 2016 will bring more interesting and joyful things too.
Today it has been raining all day...I am so grateful to see the rain pouring down the gutters, washing down the streets and soaking my flower garden
Here in Northern California we can use every drop we get.
I designed this Winter wreath with the the stormy weather in mind.
Sometimes the wind blows so hard I might go outside one morning
and my wreath blown down the street.
This Winter wreath is simple and expresses the stark look of winter.
A simple bow
And a few pinecones.

Wired ribbon wrapped around a metal wreath frame.
Some grape vines tied to the wreath.
Hopefully it will safe on the porch for a month or so.

I am ready to get this blogging year started.
The front porch is decorated so now I'll go into the
the house and start creating a cozy home for
 Sweetheart and me.
Please stay warm and cozy.
Joyously,
Betty

Winter Wreath~Four Ways

Hello everyone,
The weather is beautiful today. I hear the birds singing outside while I'm writing this post. When I finish sharing my Winter Wreath makeover I will be heading outside to prune some rose bushes. I have two beds pruned and cleaned and  now I'm working in the pergola area...We haven't had a big frost yet so everything is green and healthy.
Now~on to my Winter Wreath for 2015. I love to use what I have and bump it up a notch. This year I added some artificial forsythia and a chevron bow to last year's wreath.
CELEBRATE IT® from Michaels Craft Store
I planted a forsythia bush in the garden last year, but it hasn't bloomed yet. I'm waiting for it to bloom and see how it looks in a vase on my sofa table in the living room.
A couple of birds found their way into my wreath. Just a little added touch of Spring. I can't wait until the garden is in full bloom again.
I love the dogwood as the base for the yellow forsythia. The artificial stems are so great to decorate with and a little burlap is the right texture for my Winter Wreath.
I think this wreath is a keeper for a few months.
A few little changes and this wreath has been four different ways and I used it three different seasons last year.
My thrifty gene keeps me finding ways to make the old wreath look new and I love to see the Before and After results.
 Do It Yourself~DIY that's me.
So I'm off to prune my roses and prepare for Spring.
Joyously,
Betty

Little Details~Winter

Hi everyone,
I finally finished putting up my Winter decor in the living room. My cloche is decorated with a bird's nest and a little mercury glass bird. I went outside and clipped a twig and inserted it in my bird nest.

I've put my bird candles on the tea table. The pastel colors are so warm and cozy. I bought them a pottery barn years ago.
Last year my daughter gave me this delightful little rustic wagon. I decorated it last Autumn with pumpkins, gourds and other Autumnal decor HERE.  Now the wagon is decked out with a boxwood bush, some colorful eggs and a little bird on a branch and some bird seed on a bed of green grass.
Under our flat screen television I've added a cloche with some grape vine balls and a precious cup and another pastel bird candle.

Wow! We had a very nice Valentine dinner and dessert.
HERE
The beautiful flowers were a gift from my wonderful husband. I added the red tulips from our dessert table. Such a thoughtful gift to celebrate our 54th anniversary of our engagement...July 17th 2014 we will be married 54 years.
Two small tables sit in front of a love seat and I have the flowers on one and this tray on the other. I have some deer sheds, an old book, a vintage magnifying glass and an old key.
I saw this idea over at  Kim's house. (Savvy Southern Style)
My cute little wagon...♥ behind the love seat.
The birds are tweeting in My Cozy Corner.
I'm hopeful I will be going to get outside and play in the garden this weekend.
The weather is going to be warm and I have some new garden statutes to show you next week.
Thanks for visiting.
