A good day at the club

>> Saturday, 24 October 2015

Today, it seemed like the club had gone all Medieval! - there were 2 'Hundred Years War' games on, one using 'Great Captains', and one an Impetus game.

Additionally, there was an 'I ain't been shot yet mum' WW2 game on.

We were doing a WW2 Stalingrad skirmish, for which go to my blog: Herkybirds nest

Here are some pictures from today...

The GC game, the French!
And from behind.
..The front.
 The English.
Thei men at arms flanked by archers.
Naturally, the French came a cropper!!!!
They had a nice castle on table though!
The Impetus game, the forces before set up.

 Our game

Enjoy!

What else was happening?

>> Sunday, 14 November 2010

As you can see below, we were having another Viking skirmish, but other games were on too!

Firstly - a 6mm Napoleonic game using 'Grande Armee'- this really seems to be gaining popularity amongst the Napoleonic gang.
They do do 'Wings of War' now again too though.....

As usual, Pete, Frankie and Craig were using their beloved 'Great Captains' rules for Ancients, and managed a couple of games - quick system huh?

Of course, the rest of the Napoleonic players were doing 15mm Napoleonics using 'Empire' rules....

This was a typical day at TWC, and an average turnout, despite the fact that Newcastle were at home!

Next week we are doing Warhammer for an ECW game, should be interesting?

A day at the club...

>> Sunday, 7 November 2010

Sadly - I had to work this Saturday (6th Nov 2010) - but did manage to pop in and take a few snaps..

Ian (left) , and Ezza- visiting the club from London, and most welcome!

Ian, Lawrence and Ezza were playing a 1940 WW2 skirmish...

With a little armoured support.

A 6mm Napoleonic game

Steve was playing Lloyd, and appeared to be enjoying himself!

Craig (left) and Pete doing their usual 'Great Captains' Ancient games.

The 15mm Napoleonic brigade. Lawrence (back left) appears to be calling in reinforcements?

I couldnt stay sadly, I had family visiting. Ezza has been trying to get to the club for several months and its typical I wasnt there when he finally made it. Ah well! - Round 2 of our Viking game next week!

Posting Guidelines

>> Sunday, 23 August 2009

Anyone with Author status on the blog can post, and post (within reason!) what they like. However, it would be useful if all posts could follow some basic guidelines regarding labels. This is mainly because the website will link to posts of particular types. For instance, the British Grenadier page will link to all pages with 'british grenadier' and 'AAR' for game reports for those rules. Likewise, if someone is running a campaign it can be labelled as '15mm, great captain, campaign, punic war' and the website will link to all posts.

So to start with can we try the following, please?

  • announce - anything to do with the club, upcoming games, news etc. These posts will always appear on the front page of the website.
  • AAR - After Action Report. A game writeup, with or without pictures. Please also add the scale, rules and period.
  • review - review of any product, figures, rules etc.
  • comment - opinion on any wargames related subject
  • general - anything not covered by the above

You can use the existing labels as guides but if you need to add another please keep it obvious and in lowercase

Other than that, post away!
