My late Christmas Manicure!

Hi guys! So I was away with my family on Christmas and haven't had the chance to post my Christmas Manicure. I actually did this same manicure last year and loved it, so I thought I'd try it out again. I used a base of China Glaze Poinsetta from last years Christmas Collection and then Tinsel Town sponged onto the tips.

I also wanted to remind you guys about my blog sale where I'm selling HEAPS of polishes, including some of my absolute favourites and HTFs to make it easier when I move states next month !

Nubar Petunia Sparkle

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you Nubars Petunia sparkle from their Sparkle collection from 2010. This is a bright pink magenta purple glitter. It is opaque in two (maybe three) coats and the glitter is pretty smooth. It's a little more purple in my pictures than in real life but yeah lol.

China Glaze Holiday 2012: Champagne Kisses

Hi guys! Today I want to show you a stunning polish from China Glaze's holiday collection this year. This is Champagne Kisses. It's a pale gold/beige glitter that is just beautiful! I would say this is my favourite polish from any holiday collection this year so far. It is opaque in 2-3 coats and dries pretty fast. It sort of reminds me of sand, but sparkley lol. Oh I just love it!

Post-Halloween, Halloween Lacquer: China Glaze Mummy May I?

Hi guys! I wanted to wear this polish to show you before Halloween but I just didn't get around to it sorry! This is China Glaze Mummy May I from their Halloween collection two years ago.
This is a super dark blackened purple base packed with magenta glitter. It is on the thick side and a bit gloopy but opaque in two coats and the glitter was spread pretty evenly.

Throwback Thursday: Halloween 2011 - China Glaze It's Alive

Hi guys! Today I thought I'd swatch a polish from last years China Glaze Halloween Collection called It's Alive.
It's Alive is a swampy, murky, olivey green jelly base packed with glitter. It suprisingly didn't look horrible on me in my opinion. I used two coats over a base of China Glaze Cast A Spell

Would you ever wear a shade like this?

Matte Glitter Manicure: Feat. China Glaze Halloween 2012 Make A Spectacle

Hi guys! Today I want to show you a cool combination I did using a polish from China Glaze's 2012 Halloween Collection Wicked callec Make A Spectacle
I used a base of Essie No More Film and then added Make A Spectacle which is a multi coloured irridescent glitter polish. I then finished off with a coat of Essie Matte About You.

Please excuse the weird lighting, the sun was on its way down when I took this picture :)
Thanks For Reading!
Do you prefer glitter matte or glossy?

Nubar Midnight Sparkle

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you an old polish by Nubar which I stumbled upon in my Helmer this week. This is Midnight Sparkle from the sparkle collection. It is a midnight blue glitter nail polish that is fairly opaque in two coats. You seriously need a topcoat with this colour, it sort of dries matte and looks like chunky blue sand without two thick coats of topcoat and then it's beautiful lol

ORLY R.I.P

Hi guys! So today is October first and I thought I'd show you Orly's polish from their Flash Glam FX collection called R.I.P. which is very Halloween-esque.
In Australia, Halloween is not a big thing or a tradition among most people (well certainly not in my family). However, as I work in a Party shop we get a big range in for Halloween which I've spent the last few weeks setting up aha

Anyway, I used three coats of Orly RIP, but I would suggest doing a coat of black and then a coat of glitter for pretty much the same effect.

If you're really into this polish I'd say get it, it has a nice formula and the glitter isnt that hard to work with, but to be honest I'm just really not digging this shade on me. I think I wish the glitter was brighter or there was more contrast between the base and the glitter, I don't know. But if you liked that shade from last year called Pumpkin Spice from Sally Hansen you'd probably love this.

Deborah Lippmann Just Dance over OPI Fly

Hi guys today I wanted to show you my new favourite polish! This is Deborah Lippmann Just Dance! It's a bright blue / turquoise glitter that is so super shiny! I decided to layer it over OPI Fly from the Nikki Minaj collection released earlier this year.

I used two coats of just dance over Fly. If you wanted to wear it on its own you would need three coats probably. The glitter applied evenly and I didn't need to "place" the glitter on.

Trust me, these pictures don't even do justice to how beautiful this is in real life!
Thanks For Reading!

OPI DS Temptation

Hi guys! Today I thought I'd dig out a polish from last years OPI Designer Series release. This is Temptation, a purple glitter! It also has a lot of pink and blue glitters mixed in. I used three coats for full opacity!
This is actually a lot more purple than it looks in my photos.
I do think this is a nice polish but not worth the DS price tag, and they've done it again with this years DS release, polishes that 1. We already have dupes for and 2. Are just shimmery shades, what happened to the holos OPI :(

A-England Merlin!

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you another A-England polish that I got in their sale a few weeks back. This one is called Merlin.
Merlin is a silver glitter, if you look really closely the glitter pieces are actually irregular little shapes, rather than normal round square or hex glitters which is really cool but you can't really tell in the scheme of things.
Merlin applied very well coating the nail evenly in glitter. I used three coats here, but you could do two depending on how thick you apply it. It also dried to a suprisingly smooth texture, I only needed one coat of China Glaze Fast Forward and it was smooth. One thing I did notice when applying this though was that it had a very strong smell, something I've never noticed with any other A-Englands so I'm putting it down to the glitter.

It's so shiny!

Nubar Hyacinth Sparkle

Hi guys! Today I'm wearing Nubar's Hyacinth Sparkle from their 2010 Sparkle Collection. This was probably my favourite from the collection as I felt it was very unique at the time.
Hyacinth Sparkle is a Lavender Glitter. It's pretty opaque in two coats, three if you want it 100% perfect. It is bumpy, but nothing two coats of Essies Good To Go couldn't fix.

Thanks for Reading!

Candy Lacquer Modern Love

Hi guys, today I'm showing you an awesome indie polish by Candy Lacquer.
This is Modern Love, it's got black and white bar glitter, black and white diamonds and squares, black and white small glitters and white heart shape glitters.
I layered this over OPI Ate Berries In The Canaries.

This is two coats of Modern Love over two coats of OPI Ate Berries in the Canaries. You do have to dab the glitters in the right spots to get even coverage accross the nail, and even then it doesn't always work out (see my ring finger). The problem with this is that you get an uneven coverage of the lacquer base which makes it even chunkier and can cause bubbles. You also have to fish out the heart glitters which is a pain. Also, I can't hear any balls in the polish when you shake it, there could be one, but for this kind of glitter, you really need at least two to break up the glitter. I suggest standing this on its head for a while before using it.

Candy Lacquer is available from Candy Lacquer Etsy Shop for $8 per 15mL

China Glaze On Safari Collection: I'm Not Lion

Hi guys, today I'm showing you another polish from the China Glaze On Safari collection.
This is I'm Not Lion - such a cute name hehe.
I'm not Lion is a pale gold glitter with holographic particles. It looks like its got some silver glitter in there too. I used three coats, but two would probably have been fine. I did double up on the topcoat, but it isn't an extremely hungry glitter.

Glitter Gradient: Candy Lacquer Black Ice & Zoya Sooki

Hi guys, today I'm showing you another Candy Lacquer polish!
I thought I'd play with this one a bit, and I really like the result. I used a base of Zoya Sooki which looks a little too orange in this photo. I then used Candy Lacquer Black Ice and did a glittter gradient. If you're going to try this I'd do a black polish tip first, otherwise you'll end up with your nails looking really chunky like mine with too many coats of Black Ice lol

PLEASE EXCUSE THE CRAPPY CELLPHONE PICTURE - CAMERA IS CURRENTLY ON THE FRITZ.

Glitter Gradient: OPI Crown Me Already & China Glaze For Audrey

Hi guys! So as you guys know, China Glaze For Audrey is one of my favourite polishes, so today I decided to rock it with a silver glitter gradient using OPI Crown Me Already.
I've seen this combo done before and it's been on my to-do list for ages and I'm so glad I did it! This is one of my faviourite manicures I've done in a while!

Lippmann Bad Romance

Hi guys! Long time no post, I haven't been able to find my camera cord lol.
Anyway, today I'm showing yiu Debborah Lippmann's Bad Romance which was released in 2010 with Across The Universe.
Bad Romance is a black jelly polish with magenta glitter and large hex glitters in it. I did three coats to get more glitters on my nails, but two would suffice for it to be opaque.

OPI Absolutely Alice

Hi guys, today I'm wearing one of my alltime favourite polishes, OPI Absolutely Alice! This is a beautiful blue glitter with gold particles mixed in. It's absolutely perfect. I layered one coat over OPI Swimsuit Nailed It, but AA will be opaque in 2 thick coats if you didn't want to use a base.

China Glaze Tinsel Town

Hi guys, so I wasn't super impressed with how Chanel Graphite from yesterdays post looked on me, so I wanted to bling it up. I opened my China Glaze drawer and Tinsel Town jumped out at me. I'd never worn this as a full mani so I immidiately started painting.
I LOVE this polish! However, I bet I'm not going to love the removal, just look at all that glitter. I also used two thick coats of  China Glaze Fast Forward topcoat to make it smooth.

Across The Universe

Hi guys, today I'm showing you Deborah Lippmann's Accross The Universe which came out in 2010. When I first wore this, I was really dissapointed with the density of the glitter, I applied like four coats and there was barely any (very similar to Glitter In The Air I showed last week) I almost swapped it away, and I'm glad I didn't because I've fallen in love again!

It looks like it's a black base but it looks navy in real life :)
This is two coats of Accross The Universe over OPI's Glacier Bay Blues

Glacier Bay Blues by itself:

This polish has a slight blue/green/purple duochrome, but it isn't very noticable. This was three thin coats and it bubbled like crazy - not very impressed.

What polish did you give a second chance? & did it deserve it?
