60th Birthday Wine

Hello!! Wow - what a busy week! And next week is shaping up to be just as busy - but even more so as my hubby will be out of town for half of it!
I made this card a while ago for my good friend, whose Dad was turning 60. They had a surprise wine and jazz party for him - cool eh? Anyway, I used some of the new Stampin Up In colours for the card - Rich Razzleberry and Soft Suede. I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils blended with gamsol - it's been a long time since I used my pencils!!
Well I'm off to get some more done. I've been incredibly productive all week - making up for the summer I guess. And big news - I got a new camera!! I'm so excited to take good pictures again! Thanks to my wonderful mother in law who combined a couple of our upcoming gifts to contribute to the purchase!!
Have a great rest of the weekend!!

Mom to Mom Cards

I've been playing around with card designs to make for my Mom to Mom group. Somehow I agreed to help run a card making morning as our Christmas wrap-up activity. So I've been trying to come up with cards that are easy enough for beginners, but still have lots of impact. This one's a definite possibility. The stamp is from Inkadinkado and is stamped in Versamark and embossed in silver. Super simple - but I remember the first time I embossed and saw the powder turn to liquid - super fun!
Hope all my American friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you survived Black Friday if you decided to venture out. Sorry things have been so quiet here - I'm working on projects for the My Favorite Things release on Wednesday. Make sure you stop by after midnight Tuesday as I'm one of the stops on the blog hop! We're also trying to finish the reno of our bathroom - my weekend is full of priming and painting!! See you Monday for the first of the MFT sneak peeks!

Still Getting Dirty!

With the Dirty Girl challenges at Splitcoast I mean! The first card was for Julie HRR's white space challenge. Boy was this a challenge for me! This card looks simple but took me forever! Dandelion stamp is from Hero Arts, the "wish" sentiment is from Stampin' Up. I overstamped the dandelion in platinum ink and added some ribbon and some sparkle stickers.

The second card actually combines two challenges. I watercoloured the Inkadinkado Lighthouse using a combination of inkpads and waterbrush along with a couple of Tombow markers. This one feels kind of naked, but I couldn't figure out how to add any more embellishment without forcing it!
I'm off to my SU demo's catalogue retirement party and then off to the airport to pick up my best friend in the whole world for a week's visit. Ciao!

BOGO!

Ah heck....you don't even have to buy it - I'll give them both to you for free! That's just the kind of person I am! (FYI - BOGO means Buy One, Get One). I made quite a few cards this weekend and I'm feeling generous so you get two cards today. I meant to post them separately, but found myself in a walk-in clinic waiting room for an hour and a half today, so... you get them together. My daughter fell in a store yesterday and bumped her mouth on the corner of a shelving unit. This morning she woke up with a fever and was just "off". The Dr. said she already has an infection, so I'm glad I brought her in (and got some antibiotics).

This first card I made for an SBS challenge. The challenge was to make a card using chocolate chip and vanilla. This is what I came up with. Boy did I find it hard to only use those two colours!

My second card was for Taylor's cupcake challenge over at the eclectic Paperie (eP) forum/gallery. I really wanted to use this patterned paper that I had leftover from those recipe books I made at Christmas, and I still had my chocolate chip cardstock out. So this is what I came up with. I had so much fun colouring this image with my copics.

I also used my copics to colour the twill - it used to be natural white until I used my two red markers on it!

Anyway, thanks for looking. Hope you had a good weekend! I may or may not be posting tomorrow, depending on my daughter and her health.

This is a stamp that I received for my birthday, but because of Christmas card orders, didn't get inked up until just recently. I coloured the image with my prismacolour pencils and blended with gamsol. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out and definitely is a stamp I will use again and again. Mmmm...maybe some wine with dinner tonight! Hope you have a great start to your weekend!

Out of my Box!

This card is so far out of my box - it's almost funny. I was inspired to make this card by Michelle's blog. She often posts cards that she says are not her style - but I always love the results of the ones that are out of "her" box. Michelle also owns Stamper's Dream - an Ebay store where I buy my Amuse stamps and other things - the link is on the left side of my blog - check it out! So I needed more masculine stamps and this is one of the ones I chose. When I first stamped it, I was a little intimidated, but as I coloured (prisma pencils and gamsol) I started having a lot of fun with it. I'm pretty pleased with the way this one turned out - now I want to try and watercolour it!

In other news, I'm cleaning and re-organizing my stamping area - eeek! I was motivated by my friend Becky who suggested I turn my desk so it faces the kids play area and t.v. She's so smart!! Maybe I'll post the before and after pics later this week.
