A Cup of Daisies

Hello, Shirley, here today with a card for the  Classy Cards N Such Gingham challenge. I love daisies and I love pink so that was how I started with the gingham challenge this week.

The papers I have used are white card stock and pink gingham.   Did I tell you I really like pink?  Oh, I thought so!

I stamped this Inky Antics Daisy Bouquets image on white card stock  and colored it with markers.

I used the following Spellbinders dies behind my main image Large Scalloped Ovals, Floral Ovals,  and  the A2 Filigree Delight oval. I decorated the ovals and my corners with White Pearls.

The border die I used is the Beautiful Borders die by  Our Daily Bread Designs.

I added the  string of pearls from  my stash and added the White Satin String. I tied little bows and colored the pearls pink for the center.

I hope you will gather up some gingham paper or ribbon and join us for the challenge. You can always use your favorite color of gingham if you like.

Thank you, for coming by and taking a look at my card.

Hi, it's Misti !

I've been seeing the chalkboard technique pop up everywhere.  That was my intention when I started this card, but when I picked out the designer paper, I decided it was a little more elegant. So I just went with the embossing on the black cardstock and didn't do any sponging around the edges.

I chose the Holiday Topiaries by Flourishes that reminds me of "a partridge in a pear tree".  I inked up my stamp with white pigment ink and stamped it onto the Black Layering Swatch panel.

I sprinkled White Detail embossing powder over the ink and heat embossed it. The detailed powder doesn't hide the details of the intricate stamp.

The designer paper is from the Turtle Dove 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" Christmas paper pad by Kaiser Craft pad. I went with the piece that looks like a sheet of music... again with the theme "a partridge in a pear tree."  I added it to a layer of black cardstock and then layer it on the white card.

I added a piece of Red Satin String for a pop of color and it adds a touch of elegance.

Are you singing "The 12 Days of Christmas" now, like I am???

Your card turned out beautiful! Thanks Misti!

Spirit of Christmas

Hi, it's Misti!  I have had this set from Flourishes sitting on my desk since the day it arrived in the mail.

Supplies used:

Home for the Holidays stamp set by Flourishes
Dots embossing folder

I took a white piece of cardstock and used the Scor-Buddy on the background.  Then took a smaller strip and ran it through the Dots embossing folder.  I backed all of the white pieces with red cardstock and added the Red Satin String.

I had the idea to use some of the smaller images from the Home for the Holidays stamp set first, but it took me a few tries to get it even.  I found out it was easier for me to stamp the sentiment first and then stamp the pine bough above and below it.  I tried stamping the pine bough on the top and then the sentiment, but I didn't get it even.

Even though I knew I was going to use Cranberry Stickles, I still went ahead and water colored my image. I used the Tim Holtz Water Brush to apply Peeled Paint Distress Ink Marker and Barn Door Distress Ink Marker.

I learned a long time ago to add the Stickles last. I know it's tempting to add them once the water coloring is dry, but it is way easier to wait to add the Stickles until the very end!

Once everything was taped down, I added a thin layer of Cranberry Stickles to the areas that I water colored red.  It adds just a little sparkle!

Your card is so pretty! Thanks Misti!

Cherry Bomb Pinwheel

Hi, it's Misti with another fun card for Classy Cards 'n Such!

When Beverly mentioned to the design team that she was adding some Candy Stripers embellishments to her Classy Cards 'n Such shop, I had never heard of them.  I felt like it was my duty to order some to know what she was talking about!  *grin*

Supplies used:
Pinwheels and Popsicles by Flourishes
Summer Fresh 6 x 6 paper pad - Red Gingham paper
Dots Embossing Folder by Crafts Too!
Tim Holtz distress markers-- Antique LinenBarn Door

When I make a card that requires coloring, I always stamp my image and do everything I'm going to do to it before I color it... just in case I mess it up.  I've learned this the hard way!  LOL

For this card, I took the Classic Scalloped Ovals Large and cut the pinwheel out. While I'm cutting and embossing, I do everything at once, so I cut the sentiment out and ran the Dots Embossing Folder on the white panel.

Next I colored my image in.  I chose the easy way and used Barn Door with a hint of Antique Linen on the straw with the Detailer Water Brush.

I cut the red gingham piece just a little bit larger than my ovals. I taped down the gingham panel, then added 2 pieces of White Satin String.

For the last steps, I added the oval panel on top of the cord, placed the sentiment oval on top and then topped it off with a cherry... a Cherry Bomb Candy Striper that is!

Your card is so fun and cute! Thanks Misti!!
