Another Football Season . . .

Well, another football season has come and gone with the conclusion of the state playoff games.  Oh, how I miss it!  Two years now without a son playing football . . . ah, those were the days!

If you have a son or daughter in sports, it's time now for you to plan for those fall sports banquets ~ be sure most of all to thank the coaches!  Here's a card I created for our high school football coaches a couple years ago:

The inside held a gift card:

I found the instructions on the DOstamping with Dawn website.  Check it out for great step-by-steps and photos.  I got the design inspiration from Technostamper - love her Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge!

While I was at it, I also used my design to create a few birthday cards for the guys in my life:

March Madness Stampin'!

Do you catch the March Madness bug every year?  Do you diligently fill out your brackets and hope for the right teams to win?  I love this time of year and March Madness!  My sons always played basketball - and my youngest son's college season actually came to an end already.  So I'm going through 'basketball mom withdrawal syndrome' - until next season!

I created thank-you gift cards for all the coaches. The insert inside held a gift card.  Take a look!

Got Gift Cards? Stamp a Cute Holder!

The older my kids get, the more I choose gift cards so they can buy just the right 'make and model' of that special something they're wishing for.  It's kind of fun to dress up the packaging a bit, though.  My friend Shirley found this idea on Splitcoaststampers and shared it with our stamping group.

This card is made in the usual 4.25" x 5.5" size, lined with any pretty paper you wish.  The 2 gift card 'holders' are cut at 5.25" x 4" and scored at 1", 2", and 3" parallel to the 5.25" side.  Adhere the first folded square 'tube' to the bottom and back of the open card.  Adhere the second 'tube' to the first tube to the bottom of the card and ALSO to the other tube just a bit on each end so the gift card can still slide in between them.

When the card is closed, the tubes fold flat and keep the gift card held between them!  Here is a pic of the closed card, secured with an embellished belly band over an attached strip of pretty paper.  On this card, I used wide grosgrain ribbon for my belly band - you could also use cardstock.

Such a fun way to deliver a gift card!  I hope you give it a try this year!
