Hello Doily: Wedding-Inspired Card

Hello, stampers!  Last fall I shared with you a wedding invitation I created.  I then prepared this post to show you how I translated the invitation idea into a birthday card - and totally forgot to really post it for you!

Here's another peek at the invitation . . .

. . . and here's the birthday card I created!

I really liked how it turned out - and made several for various occasions, just changing up the sentiment on the front.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

It's Looking a LOT Like Christmas in MN!

Well, since it is snowing today in Minnesota, will you let me get by with showing you some belated Christmas cards?? You can maybe adapt these ideas to other occasions such as birthdays or thinking of you.  Or just file these ideas away for next year!  We made these cards at our CLOclub class last December.

The folded tree is made from half of a 4" circle.  Super easy and cute!  I just attached it with SNAIL tape runner and it pops up with dimension on its own.

I CASEd this card from my fellow demonstrator, Dawn Musil-Thomas.  The poinsettia is stamped twice on vellum cardstock, then cut twice - once the larger image, once the smaller image.  The background poinsettia and sentiment are stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.

I used Dazzling Details for the flower centers:

I love the Starburst Technique, or Sunburst as some call it.  Super simple to do, it gives impressive results! I made quite a few of these with birthday greetings on them, too!

The Starburst is built on a separate piece of cardstock (I used a 3x5 index card, trimmed!) and then attached to the Pool Party layer.

Here's a closeup of the edges, so you can see how I built the layers . . .

So grab a hot cuppa somethin' and enjoy a warm day of stamping . . . even for just a little while!  Maybe even put on a little Christmas music.  I'll be cheering  my husband on as he snowblows the driveway . . . again!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Hello Doily: Wedding Invitations

I hope you enjoyed seeing Kylie's wedding Save the Date cards!  We used her initial ideas to design the wedding invitation - love how it turned out!

The 'labels' were printed out first on Naturals Ivory - spaced out to leave room for the Apothecary Accents die to cut each one - then I ran each one through the Big Shot using that die to perfectly cut out each label!  I used a hole punch to make a place for the ribbon to be threaded through, and paper pierced the edges of every label.

All the printing was done in Early Espresso - you can adjust the font color in Word by giving it the correct RGB code for the color you want.  Just search online for "Stampin' Up! RGB codes" and you'll see what I mean!  Perfect font and print color to perfectly match the cardstock!!

Voile!  Awesome invitations suitable for a queen . . . Queen Kylie!

Thank you notes for Kylie . . .

Hello Doily: Wedding Save the Dates

Happy Monday, stampers! A whole new week . . . what will you do with your opportunities?  What great possibilities!

This week I want to share with you some wedding creations I made for the lovely Kylie! She found ideas on Pinterest and SplitCoastStampers that she like, and then we tweaked them to fit her colors and ideas.

These are her Save the Dates . . . doesn't this doily look like you could reach out and pick it up off the paper?!

Kylie especially wanted to incorporate a photo into her design, so we did just that!

All CLOcards creations are handmade with care, one by one . . . what a joy to do this for Kylie and Nate!

I like to package the completed order in a pretty way, using the bride's colors - a special package for a VERY special couple for their special day . . .

Wishing You . . . Happy Days!

Are you enjoying the Stampin' Up! holiday catalog?  I love SO many things in that catalog. If you don't have one, be sure to contact me today - I'll send one right out to you!

Last month I showed you a card from the catalog that was the inspiration for one of our recent CLOclub projects. Here it is:

Here's the card I came up with - it's larger in size than the original, but nearly the same design!

The tag is popped up a bit with Dimensionals:

LOVE these little bow clips!

And . . . the inside! This stamp set has everything you need for both the outside AND inside of your card!

We did make matching, lined envelopes . . . but it seems I forgot to photograph those for you!  :(

Upsy Daisy . . . Embossed

Last week I mentioned that I really missed the stamp set call "Upsy Daisy".  So I thought that this week I'd share a few cards using that set!

The focal point on this card was created by stamping the full image on Bermuda Bay, then again on Dusty Durango, and lastly on Crushed Curry using Versamark ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder.  Then the images were each cut into 1" strips and rematched with alternating colors.

Glitzy Reindeer Christmas

Every now and then, I visit a local shop called the "Hope Chest" which supports breast cancer research.  What a surprise to find a scrapbooking supply pack for sale!  Included in the pack were metallic papers, and here's how I used them:

Everything shines on this card - the papers, the embossing, and even the ribbon!  To emboss in brown, I first inked up the stamps with VersaMark, then Chocolate Chip - and stamped then embossed with clear embossing powder.
