for the front door - Fall Wreath

Now that Thanksgiving is past I guess I should share my fall wreath.  :)

I went simple and bought a straw leaf form.

I added the grass and then some silk sunflowers and tied it with ribbon.

This time of year my front door gets hit hard by the elements so I needed to use something that would work well in the weather.

I'm really happy with how it turned out.

I hope you are having a great day!  November is almost over.  It's time to start thinking about December and Christmas!

For the Front Door - Spring Wreath

Easter is just around the corner.  Time for a new wreath.  This one uses hemp, Easter grass, foam eggs, and felt flowers.

This old fencing makes a much better backdrop than my front door with that window in it.  :)

For the Front Door - Valentine Wreath

I figured I'd better get this up and share it before February was over.  :)

My project:

I found this inexpensive burlap type dreadful fabric at Walmart and thought it would be perfect wrapped around a foam wreath form for my Valentine wreath.  I added some hemp, felt roses, a little gingham bias tape, some wood buttons, and put it on the front door.

A little bit festive without being too much.  :)

Working on.....

For the Front Door - Yarn and yoyo fall wreath

The details:

I'm obsessed with yarn wreaths and I'm not afraid to say it.  I think since the moment I first signed on with Pinterest and started seeing them, I've been pinning and dreaming of making my own.  I used to work at a flower shop in college and would make wreaths for clients on occasion (and not always with fresh flowers).  It is such a treat to revisit this craft.

A couple of months ago I got a wreath form and wrapped it with yarn, and a couple of Studio Calico kits ago, I became obsessed with wood doilies and had to get some more, and the two combined to create a lovely little accent for my front door:

Maya Road doilies and buttons, Divine Twine, an embroidery hoop, and fabrics from Michael Miller and Heather Bailey, I think.  It's close to Thanksgiving and almost time for a more Christmas inspired wreath, but for the next couple of weeks, I plan to enjoy it!
