My Baby Truned One!

Can you believe Lily turned one?? My baby grew up so fast! She is so tiny that I am having a hard time believing it is true!

Here are her stats from her 1 year check up:

Height: 28.5 inches= 31% (not too shabby)

Weight: 17.09 lbs= 2.5% (her 4 month old cousin weighs almost as much as she does!)

Here is what she is doing at one: She is standing and occasionally walking around furniture.

She LOVES her babies and she gives them loves (it's the cutest thing!)

She is such a flirt with the older men at church (she's already received a marriage proposal from a married man). Lily is getting some attitude! Especially with her brother. She is a Daddy's girl. She is still snugly. She sleeps through the night (usually). She loves to look at herself in the mirror. And she loves to sing at the dinner table (she and Luke have a competition to see who can be the loudest). She learned how to drink through a straw so she could drink green spinach smoothies (she LOVES spinach smoothies). She loves books (especially turning the pages). She also loves to eat "Kicks" cereal, beans and most anything chocolate. She really is sweetest little girl and I'm so sad to see her grow up!

For her birthday I made her a doll cake because she loves dolls! She didn't really like the cake until Grandpa Bronson sat next to her and starting eating his. She got a baby stroller which she stands up to and walks a few steps with.

The Beginning of the End

I knew this day was coming, but secretly I was hoping it never would. Sure, Luke is 2 1/2 years old. But some kids continue until they are 3. But alas nap time is coming to an end. I love nap time. I get so much accomplished. But lately Luke won't nap. He will sit and play in his room with the door closed for 1-1 1/2 hours (bless his heart) and finally I will go down and tell him, "It's quiet time. Let's go watch a show." And then I'll put on Cars or Cinderella. For a while he was hit and miss so I would bribe him (I know, I'm a horrible mother) with his favorite snack if he took a nap. But even the bribes weren't working.
Although, I have to admit, Luke is a really good boy. I tell Luke to watch his show and that I'm going upstairs to take a nap. When his show is over, he turns off the TV, sneaks upstairs into my room and whispers, "Oh...Mama's sleeping". Then he goes out into the front room and plays with his trucks until I drag myself out of bed (usually about 5 minutes later). Luke...you sweet boy!
