Brand new Filofax Pen Holders

Image
I've been a naughty boy this week and splashed out on some new bits for me and my good lady wife, I spent nearly £50 and ended up with these beauties! I bought myself the pen holder with pen in black in both A5 and personal size whilst I bought my wife the same sizes but the blue colour. You will notice immediately that the black ones are fully black but the blue ones have blue outer pockets but the middle piece is transparent. The black holders come with a brown pen (from the botanics range) whilst all the the others that are available come with the a matching coloured pen. The complete range from the actual Filofax website features just A5 and personal holders with 5 colours in total, Red, Yellow, Blue, Green and Black. These colours are very much in keeping with a lot of the current on trend organisers that Filofax stock, I think they lack a little imagination but I suppose it is still early days and they are at least trying something out. I am surprised that...

Filofax Pocket Sized Mirror

Image
This was what I would call a very rare find as these things seldom appear on eBay anymore and Filofax stopped selling them years ago. This one came to me in its original wrapper and is in perfect condition. The light obviously reflects on the mirror surface so it was difficult to capture a good shot but didn't turn out too bad. The cover is somewhat sexist with its depiction of a woman applying her lipstick but this is probably who it was aimed at. From the colour coding on the front this mirror is intended for the Pocket sized Filofax but is actually classed as Multifit so it will actually fit in Pocket, Personal, A5 & A4 Filofaxes. Whilst I don't check myself in the mirror that often, I will be keeping this one as its an original and may even come in useful one day!

A5 Filofax Clipbook Perpetual Diary insert

Image
I recently reviewed the Filofax Clipbook on here, the video above is for the perpetual diary insert that goes with it. However you can pretty much use any A5 Filofax insert to go with in the clipbook, but these newer products do have a much more modern and simpler design rather than the more formal inserts for the ring bound planners.  The great thing is that you can write in your own dates as you please and just circle the month which is marked out at the top of the page. This probably isn't to everyone's taste, certainly not mine, I like the more formal inserts! This picture features the full month laid out, the sheet is actually A4 paper folded in half, not a common feature in ring bound planners. The disadvantage is that the right half of the paper isn't supported by the planner and paper underneath which means you are writing on a slope and whatever surface is below it. I HATE writing on to a hard surface and really need paper underneath so this has wound me...

Filofax A5 Clip book video review

Image
Collecting Filofaxes is an expensive habit, so I always choose my planners carefully knowing full well it could be a while before I can afford another one! I was recently gifted a £20 Amazon gift card, I knew I could blow this one on anything I wanted so I had a good scout through the Amazon app and obviously searched for Filofax before looking at music and DVD's. I eventually opted for the A5 Filofax Clip Book, a newer product possibly aimed at more student/education market as they are generally lower cost than a Leather organiser. It cost me just under £15.00 but I have seen them on sale at £18 so it felt like a good price and I still had a few quid to buy some blank inserts to go in it as well. For now here's the video I made showing what's inside, there will be a separate review at a later date with the inserts and some photos of what I ended using it for.
