Brown Crocodile effect organiser by the Book People.

Image
I'm happy to spend some time with just about any type of organiser and give it the benefit of the doubt before I use it, which is what I did with this one. This one came from a charity shop and features a page inside saying it's made by the book people who are now known as the gift people, they used to drop books off at your workplace for you to sample and then buy. It may have a look of crocodile skin but it certainly lacks the quality, it's made from cheap rubber or at a push maybe PU leather, but certainly not real leather. You can always tell when a organiser is made badly, the credit card slots inside always look slightly open and seem to peel away slightly, a leather Filofax or organiser should hold its shape even if its being used a lot. That said, the inner pages are packed full of useful pages for notes, addresses and a diary as well as plenty of tabs and dividers, at the time of it's realise it probably looked like a good deal I...

Updated List Of Organisers

Well Christmas as usual has been a whirlwind and eaten up all my time but finally i'm back in the office getting on with things. First up is my list of organiser brands that you may have seen before, I've added about another 40 names I have found over the last few months. I have also added 2 new sections, branded Filofax and Funfax, I will be reviewing these in a blog post very soon. If any of you have any examples or photos you would like to share, please do so in the comments. I’ve spent the last few months trawling the internet searching for websites that are related to planners and organisers and here is what I have found. There so many more brands out there than I could have imagined, I thought that this market would be shrinking in modern times, not expanding! Wherever possible I have added a hyperlink to the exact page that contains the organisers, if none are currently listed I have linked to the main webpage or parent company. In some instances, I could...

Filofax Personal Chester-Tapestry

Image
If anyone has any details on the production or dates of manufacture on this model please do get in touch,  the filofaxist at G mail dot com. I don't ever profess to be an expert at this but I do believe this is quite a rare Filofax and is known as a Chester "tapestry" which is no surprise considering the look of it! Whilst not to my taste the cover is quite smart and definitely good quality if not a little garish. The internal lettering makes no claims of it being made from Leather but it does feel like it, at least the outer part looks like leather. The inside has more of a PU leather feel about it but i'm not completely sure. The left inside pocket has 6 credit card slots and a full length pocket underneath. It of course has the brand name and title with is in a lovely gold print which gives it that extra feel of quality. There's another full length pocket on the right internal side, one pen loop and a press stud enclosure....
