No, Chow Chow, No

How many of your mummies actually trust you when you are around your younger siblings? Sad to say, my Mummy doesn't trust me at all!

Ever so often, I try to be friendly and show my care and concern to my baby sister by looking at her very closely and sniffing her head or licking her tiny toes and fingers. She seemed to have finally noticed my existence recently cos her eyes will light up whenever she sees me and she will get excited and keep looking at me no matter where I go. She makes me feel like a fish in an aquarium sometimes, but I still love her.

However, my evil Mummy doesn't want us to get too close. Perhaps she is just jealous. Whenever my baby sister is on her jumperoo and I go over to say hi, Mummy will push my head away and say "No, Chow Chow, no". Fine, I'll go rest under my favourite table and watch her behave like a clown in order to keep my baby sister entertained.

Sometimes when Mummy and Daddy and the baby are cuddling and playing on the couch, I go over to join in the fun by licking the baby on her legs. Again, my Mummy will carry the baby away and say "No, Chow Chow, noooooo". Only when I go away to the balcony with my head lowered and looking so disappointed will she say sorry and "I love you" to me. But who cares for sorry and "I love you" when all I want is to join in the fun as part of the family.

If the humans can kiss the baby, why can't I?

The other day, Mummy screamed when she found me licking my baby sister's fingers. The baby was laughing away as she happily puts her hand near my mouth. So why must Mummy spoil the fun for us?

The worst was this: Mummy was in the kitchen one day when she suddenly heard the baby cried out loud. Immediately she assumed it was my fault cos she rushed out of the kitchen screaming "No, Chow Chow, no!!!" Just because I was in the same room as the baby. When she came out, she realised I was sitting at the other end of the room, while my baby sister was on the other side, screanming cos she was bored/hungry/sleepy. Of course, Mummy felt really bad for thinking it was me who caused the baby to cry. She probably thought I was chewing on the baby's succulent thigh for breakfast. Hello! I'm off the raw diet, remember?!

I gave Mummy a sad face and look away. Hah! This will send her on a really long guilt trip!

I really wish my baby sister can grow up very quickly so that she is no longer so "fragile" and we can both play together. And for dog's sake, baby sister, please stop screaming out loud whenever I'm near you. I know you are my biggest fan but I don't deserve another accusation!

Oops!

I must apologize that we haven't sent out any Christmas cards in 2009. The household was chaotic and our lives are never the same again. We didn't even managed to put up the Christmas tree! Mummy tried to take a picture of us - Amanda, Mummy and I, for a last minute Christmas e-card but Amanda has other ideas.

Hurry up, Mummy! I'm all set and ready!

Pardon Mummy's unglamourous look. Obviously she is not ready (or not intending) to be in the picture!

We are all so stressed by Amanda's loud cries! She is so not going to be a good model, unlike me.

The prima donna refused to wear her santa hat! I'm giving up now. The reindeer headband is hurting my head and messing up my fur.

So much for a Christmas picture together. I think this reindeer headband is better as a chew toy!

Exciting days ahead

Today, when Mummy returned from the doctor's clinic, she told me that the baby in her tummy will be out tomorrow! This means there will be a new member in our family, I will have one more person to play with, Mummy will be able to bring me out for walks again and there will be lots of people coming to our house for a celebration....which means...more food for me!

I know Mummy is very scared and excited...Daddy is a bundle of nerves too! Tomorrow morning, they are going to bring me to Granddad's house first before proceeding to the hospital. I hope they don't forget to pack my favourite "fast food" - NuTripe canned food. They always feed me this good stuff whenever they are too busy to cook for me. I think I have have to stay at Granddad's house for a couple of days while Mummy stays at the hospital. I guess it's ok since I have the garden to myself. I can run around, drag all of Coco's toys outside to play with and dig up some mud when no one is watching! BOL!

Mummy knows she will not have the time to update my blog after today...so we better share with you some recent pictures we took together, with the baby still in Mummy's tummy.

We'll be back with more exciting news and updates!

Mummy and her 40" waist!

I don't know what Mummy has been eating but her waistline has been expanding so much I now look like a svelte supermodel next to her even though I now weigh a hefty 21.5kg!

My Mummy's back!

My Mummy is finally back from Hong Kong after sooooo many days! I didn't know Hong Kong is so far away and that she needed five days to get back. I thought I would see her again at most five hours after she left the house!

During Mummy's absence, Daddy spent a lot of time bonding with me! He brought me to the dog run on Saturday (where I got bullied by a huge white dog) and to the campus garden on Sunday. I was kinda tired on Sunday and the outing wasn't quite the same without Mummy so I didn't ran much. When Daddy called me, I simply walked up to him for him to leash me and bring me home. BOL! This is the first time I was being so cooperative. I thought maybe if I behaved myself well, Mummy would come home earlier.

Daddy also brought me to the groomers. I had a nice trim and am looking even more handsome and cuter! Oh, I was scared out of my wits when the groomer accidentally cut me when I was having my pawdicure! I bled and it was painful! I cried for my parents but Daddy could only stand outside the glass window looking at me. When Daddy told Mummy about this over the phone, Mummy was so heartbroken she almost cried. But of course she had to hold back her tears cos her friends were with her.

Anyway, I am very glad that Mummy is home now. She even bought me some treats and fed me this super delicious wheatgrass and beef jerky she got from a supermarket in Hong Kong. Now, I don't have to sleep in the living room to wait for her to return, like I did for the past five days. It's back to sleeping in the cosy room with my favourite pair of humans.

A belated post - Mummy's birthday

Mummy just remembered that we took a picture together with her friends during her birthday celebration at home. She quickly found the picture on her friend's Facebook album and here it is! Me and the ladies!

Happy belated birthday, Mummy! Please remember to buy me lots of pressies when you go to Hong Kong tomorrow!

My Mummy & Daddy

My friend Honey, has tagged me to play in a game to post and tell everyone about my real mummy and daddy. Well, I don't know where my real chow parents or siblings are, except that I was born in Victoria, Australia. I was sent to Singapore when I was just several weeks old and the only humans I can remember so far are the pet shop workers and my first adoptive humans - a young dance instructor and his girlfriend. I wish I can be like Honey and have more information or memories of my real family, but sadly I don't. Sometimes I do wonder where they are and how they are doing, but most of the time, I just wonder when my human daddy is coming home so that I can sniff at his socks and welcome him home with my wagging tail.

Well then, let me tell you how I found my current humans instead! My first set of humans had no time to take care of me so they decided to put up a few posts online to help me look for a new home. I was only 5 months old. My current Mummy saw one of the online posts and decided to call up and arrange to meet me on the very same day. A few hours later, my current humans turned up and some words and papers were exchanged and then very quickly, I followed my current humans to their car and off we go to my new home!

First week in my current humans' apartment.

Frankly, I thought I was just going for a spin with these humans. I've never been in the backseat of a car before and I love the novelty of looking out of the car window! Less than half an hour later, my humans led me to their apartment and I was getting scared! This house looks different from where I lived! I panicked but it was too late and the humans already locked the gate and I couldn't escape. I ran around the house trying to look for something familiar. But nothing is familiar. I was so scared, I peed and pooped right in the living room! My Mummy freaked out and groaned in dismay and that made me feel even more scared. I ran around again and stepped onto my own pee and left nasty paw and pee prints all over the living room. Thank god, the humans already rolled up their carpet and kept it in one corner. And when Mummy took out the mop to clean up the place, I thought she wanted to play tug of war and started to bite at the mop and refused to let go! That wasn't a very good start for me and my Mummy who has never owned a dog in her life. Of course the first two weeks was nightmarish for my Mummy, especially since I still peed and poop in the house.

Me in my dreaded crate. I'm glad to announce that I can no longer fit into this crate and Nono the cat has inherited it now.

Oh and I remembered the first night, my humans put me in my crate before they go to bed. They switched off all the lights and ignored my whining, hoping I will fall asleep soon. But I was just too excited to sleep! My Mummy crept out of the room and hid in a corner to peep at me. She thought I didn't see her but I did! And I was wondering why she was behaving like a rat! Turned out she was worried the weather was too hot for me to sleep and she put a fan near my crate so that I can at least enjoy some cool air.

It seems like such a long time but it was only 9 months ago when I found my current humans. I'm not too keen to change humans anytime soon and sometimes I do get a bit worried when my humans leave me at the grandparents' place and left the house without me. A part of me hoped desperately that they will return soon so I can feel assured and safe again.

And now for the fun part! I shall tag Hershey, Romeo, Dino and Pipa in the game to tell us about their daddy and mummy! And/Or if you don’t know much about them, then tell us about how you found your humans - and your first day in your new home!

Fifth File Meme

I've been tagged by Aki to do the fifth file meme and I found this:

Most of you have found pictures of yourselves when you were a puppy but for me I found a picture of my Mummy when she was a kid. It's a picture taken in 1982, during Mummy's 4th birthday party. Can you guess which little girl is Mummy? She is the silly-looking one in the polka-dot dress! Time really flies! The kids in the pictures are Mummy's cousins and they are all married and have kids of their own, except for Mummy. She is feeling the pressure now, especially during Chinese New Year gatherings!

Anyway, my Mummy is finally going back to work. In fact, she is going back to the big bad world of advertising and is starting work tomorrow!

I hope I won't feel too lonely in the house all by myself.

It's now time to pass on this tag to five more bloggers so here are the rules:

Open a document or file folder, click on the fifth folder and then the fifth photo. Post the photo and describe it. Then tag 5 other bloggers.

I'd like to pass this tag to:

1. Romeo Sangiovese
2. Pipa
3. Princess Isis
4. Mango the Maltese Kiddo
5. Thor

Show me your pictures! Have fun!

Please sign my guestbook!
