Saturday Morning Walks

I'm begining to love the weekends again. Mummy is trying to get Daddy to bring the entire family to the parks on Saturday mornings so that I can run around, excercise for a bit, socialise and have some good old doggie fun. So far, we went to the renovated Bishan Dog Run for two Saturdays and today we went to the Botanical Gardens! I hope this weekend park-hopping keeps up!

Chow Chow's 2nd Birthday

I turned two on Monday! Actually it was just another ordinary day. Mummy and Daddy left me home alone all morning and afternoon. No special trip to the dog park or the beach. But at least Mummy brought me a birthday cake and we took a long walk to Grandpa's house (I love the 45-min walk)! Initially, she was feeling ambitious and wanted to bake me a birthday cake using the recipe from her friend. However she was busy that day and had no time to do any grocery shopping, let alone bake me a cake! In order to feel less guilty, Mummy went to buy me a blueberry cake from US Dog Bakery instead!

I also wore a glittery red bow so as to look more dressy for my birthday! Don't I look sexy?!

To be honest, I hated it when my pawrents lighted the candles on the cake. The flame is just terrifying. Why do humans like to burn the perfectly normal food? I mean I am so beautifully fluffy. What if my luscious mane caught fire?! I'm not so stupid as to go near the dangerous cake!

After some coaxing from Mummy and with the promise of some treats, I relunctantly posed with Mummy and the dangerous cake. Mummy, the cake is too near for comfort!

Finally, my pawrents decided to sing me a birthday song, wished me a lifetime of good health and blew out the candles on my behalf. Phew! I sniffed at the cake suspiciously. Never had cake in my two years of living so I gotta check if it is safe to eat. Mummy was very eager to feed me a piece of the cake. Hmmmm...normally my pawrents will never offer me the good stuff (like the yummy cakes and snacks and fried chicken that they eat) so I should really be wary of this creamy cake that Mummy is coaxing me to eat!

After some probing here and licking there, I ate the cake eventually. It's not bad but I would want second helpings if there are some bacon strips or barbequed pork in it!

My baby sister woke up from her nap in time for the celebration and we finally took our very first family picture!

Happy 2010!

It's a brand new year! Happy 2010, everyone!

My mummy has been a major lazy bum after the arrival of Baby Amanda, thus the lack of updates on my blog. Guilt has finally push Mummy to post this first entry for me.

Here are the pictures that most of you have been waiting for - Baby Amanda and me!

Baby Amanda is now 2 months old. That's how long my blog has been neglected! Anyway, I'm back now to tell you all about my adventures or the lack of it. The weather has been lousy for the past several weeks and I haven't been to the dog park for the longest time. The stupid rain is practically ruining my social life.

My parents are also really busy with Amanda, a noisy creature they called my sister. Initially, I was pretty annoyed by her loud cries and screams but I've gotten used to it since I realised she can't talk or bark like me and my parents, so crying and screaming is her way of communicating with us. I still can't figure out her baby language, unlike my parents who rushed to her with bottles of milk or shower her with annoyingly high-pitched and saccharin-sweet voices whenever she lets out one of her loud cries. And when Mummy gets frustrated with needing to stop doing whatever she is doing to stop Amanda from crying for the nth time, I just gave her the "oh well" look.

To be honest, Amanda is not that bad. At least her head smells good and her feet are soft and nice. I know cos I have licked her feet a few times when my parents are not watching! BOL!

Happy Moo Year!

Have a pawesome Moo year everyone! May the year of the Ox-picious Ox brings you plenty of wealth and health, joy, love, peace and treats!

The days leading to Chinese New Year were the best! Daddy took leave and brought me to the beach! Then my parents gave me the enviable job of supervising them while they clean the house. I didn't want to be too strict a supervisor, so I just let them do what they do while I drift off to dreamland....hehehehhe....

I also got to go to Granddad's place every often, I even went there twice in a day. It was really happening in the house cos everyone was busy cooking and taking out food and eating! I didn't get any of the human food, but at least Uncle Phil took pity on me and gave me a small piece of BBQ pork!

After the human's reunion din din, Mummy and Daddy brought me, together with Aunt TR and Aunt Coco to the dog park! To clarify, Aunt TR is Daddy's elder human sissy who flies back from Hong Kong for the Chinese New Year; whilst Aunt Coco is my Daddy's furry sissy who barks at me when I get too close to her. Now, back to the dog park. As expected, there weren't any doggies at the park cos it was New Year's eve and everyone is busy having their face stuffed at home. BUT we saw a cream Chow Chow when we approached the dog park! What are the chances?! I think the cream Chow Chow is called Chow Chow too! BOL! We chased and run and played bitey face - Chow version! Too bad, Mummy didn't have the camera with her, or else I could have shown you how much fun we had!

We had a stroll in the park after the dog run and Aunt Coco was so out-of-breath trying to catch up with us. She really needs to exercise more!

On the first day of Chinese New Year, my parents left me in Granddad's garden while they went off for lunch to celebrate Granddad's birthday. I was just minding my own business in the garden when some humans stopped to stare at me when they passed by the front gate of the house. Some of them even took out their cameras and took pictures of me. My humans were back very soon and they were quite worried what could have happened to me when they saw several people standing in their front gate looking in. They were relieved to see me, looking like my usual handsome self in the car porch, posing for pictures. BOL!

The second day of the new year was the best! Mummy invited her relatives to our house since they have not been to our house ever since my parents moved in more than a year ago. I love having guests in the house! I was so busy walking up and down and making sure everyone is comfortable and had their share of petting my magnificent mane and fussing over me. Everyone thinks I'm really adorable and fine-looking! Grandma was really nice as she fed me some raw fish and meat while she sliced the food for the steamboat dinner. Again, Mummy forgot (or was it too lazy) to take pictures of my adoring guests!

Anyway, enough of the long post! Here are some pictures to share. I'm glad mummy didn't forgot the use of her camera totally!

It's been quite a journey

The year is almost coming to an end. Time really flies!

Mummy is thankful for having me in their lives. She loves me more and more each day and I do think our relationship has improved. She hope that in 2009, I will be happier, healthier, responds to their commands and will not try to run away from home again. Daddy often wonder what goes on in my head. My parents are really keen to try and understand me more. Frankly, I'm a simple dog. Humans just like to think that things are more complicated that what they really are.

Daddy has brought me more often to the dog parks. Mummy has stopped giving me the boring kibbles and instead is feeding me with delicious homecooked and raw food. Oh, and I have more toys now. If this keeps up, 2009 is surely gonna be a better year!

I wish Daddy would bring me out to play more often. And it would be better if we can go on paws instead of taking his car. I hate car rides, even though they try to make me feel better by calling it the Chowmobile. I also wanna get more hugs from Daddy and hope he will play with me more than he plays with the stupid machine called Xbox. Oooooh and do allow me to have a dip in the mud puddle too!

I hope Mummy would make me more yummy meals and quit teasing me with her treats. Just give them all to me! And also, please don't torture me by making me wait for my dinner to cool. The smell of the food is killing me! And last but not least, let granddad feed me the table scraps!

I wish 2009 will be a much better year for everyone! May all my doggy pals stay playful, healthy and happy. May all my doggy classmates (including me) pass our Obedience Test will flying colours so that we won't have to do the boring commands and practise everyday. May my family (grandpa, grandma, aunt BB, uncle MQ, granddad, grandmum, Coco, aunt TR, uncle Phil, Gary and Gavin) stay blissful and happy. Granddad's helper, Aunt Lailai has left for her hometown and is not coming back again. I didn't have the chance to take pictures with her but I will remember her fondly as the nice lady who feed me and worry if the ants are gonna bite me when I'm out in the garden at night. I wish her all the best!

Lastly, may Mummy get a job she loves soon and may Daddy get healthier and no more annoying hives! The news reports can tell us bad news everyday but as long as we stay positive and count our blessings, we'll be in for the best time of our lives!

Cheers to 2009!
