French Wire Cloches...Dressed for Autumn

*
*
*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
Today, Marty over at A Stroll Thru Life, is hosting the annual Autumn Cloche Party!
I just love being able to participate in the Marty's cloche parties.  She is truly the sweetest
and most gracious blog party hostess!  Thank you, Marty!  You will find a link to the
party at the end of this post.
*
~French Wire Cloches...Dressed for Autumn~
*
I only have a couple of cloches to share with you for the party today.  I have several
cloches...six to be exact and most of them are glass.  I used all of them in my spring
and summer decor and when it came time to decorate for autumn, I put all the cloches
away (just for a change) except for two...my french wire cloches.  They are all dressed
up for autumn and ready to go!  I hope you enjoy!
*
*
Here we are in my kitchen.
*
This old, chippy enamel topped table sits in the corner of my kitchen.  I just love
this old, vintage table.  She has beautifully shaped legs...don't you think?  This table
was sitting outside when I came to live in my honey's home.  It was love at first
sight...yes, it was love at first sight for my honey...but I was talking about the
table!  Hehe!  I saved this little beauty from the harsh environment and brought
her into the house.  Sooo...all the distressing and chippiness...is "au natural"!
*
My enamel top table is always decorated for the season.
Here she is all dressed up for autumn!
*
*
A Mix-Matched Autumn Vignette
*
A Whimsical Table Lamp...
*
The tall table lamp always resides here.  It provides a little extra lighting for this
corner of the kitchen when needed.  I love the curvy lines of the bronze base!
The black shade is lined in leopard print fabric...a little fun and whimsy!
*
My orange and yellow rooster tassel looks nice with the black shade.
*
Close-up of the rooster tassel.
*
I just adore this pretty tassel!  Just look at all of the luscious layers of ribbon
and beautiful trim!  Kristen from Kristen's Creations made this beautiful tassel.
  Thank you again, Kristen!
*
*
I used a couple of burlap placemats for the foundation for this autumn, table top vignette.
*
French Table Tray...
*
A distressed gray french table tray has joined in with this autumn vignette.
A set of autumn acorn plates, a small pumpkin soup tureen, autumn napkins,
and a few cluster of grapes fill the french tray.
*
Creamware Pitcher...
*
An antique creamware pitcher filled with old nickle plated knives and
forks can be seen behind the french tray.
*
New Autumn-Like Bowls...
*
A stack of four autumn-like bowls join this table top vignette.  I just found
these pretty bowls at Dollar Tree.  One can always use a few extra
bowls...I love the color and the sweet olive pattern!
*
Large Glass Canister...
*
My large glass canister is filled with cookie cutters.  I love the look of old,
vintage aluminum cookie cutters.  I can enjoy them year round in the glass canister!
*
...and...last but not least...
*
French Wire Cloches...
*
A pair of french wire cloches are the star attraction of this autumn vignette.
*
*
Tall Wire Cloche...
*
The tall wire cloche in the back corner of this autumn vignette...measures
a stately 30 inches in height.
*
It is also gray in color and pairs nicely with the french table tray.  It is filled
with autumn leaves, acorns, and berries.  Climbing bittersweet is making its way
up to the top of the cloche.
*
A close-up of the autumn pretties inside of the tall wire cloche.
*
*
*
Wire Cloche with a Pillar Candle...
*
The smaller wire cloche sits upon a silver pedestal dish and hosts
a lovely "goldenrod" colored candle.  This french wire cloche is also
gray...pairing nicely with the tall wire cloche and french table tray.
*
If you are a follower of Happy To Design, you may have noticed that I have a "thing"
for the color goldenrod this autumn season.  I recently created an autumn tablescape
with a new set of goldenrod colored dishes...if you would like to see it...just click HERE.
*
*
*
*
*
Isn't that bird finial on top of the wire cloche...just the sweetest?
*
*
*
*

*
*
*
I thought I would show you what is under the enamel top table.
*
An old, rusty wire basket filled with goodies!
*
*
Inside the rusty wire basket...
*
Burlap and woven gray placemats and a glass milk bottle fill an old crock mixing bowl.
A smaller crock can be seen next to the large mixing bowl...a trio of aluminum buckets
spill forth from the smaller crock.
*
*
...and Voila!
*
An autumn table top vignette with french wire cloches!
*
I hope that you enjoyed!

"Green Apples & Lace"...A Summer Tablescape

*
*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
I do believe that summer has arrived in colorful Colorado!  We have been having some really warm temperatures which cause me to retreat to the house, close to the a/c!  I know...I know...I'm such a spoiled "ninny"!  Hehe!
*
Since I have been spending time inside...I have been having a little fun playing dishes!  Today, I thought I would share with you a fresh, summery tablescape that I just created.  I hope that you enjoy!
*
"Green Apples & Lace"
A Summer Tablescape
*
*
Here we are in my french country dining room.
*
As you can see, my dining room is done in shades of red, olive green, and gold.  This color theme tends to be a bit dark...but I think the white dining table/chairs and buffet help keep the room light.  I love how the crisp white looks against the deeper, rich colors!  I found my old chippy, french farm table several years ago at the antique flea market.  I just love it!
*
*
*
"Green Apples & Lace"
*
With temperatures heating up, I wanted to create a summer tablescape using "cool" colors.
*
Fresh, crisp white and bright apple green...
*
"fit the ticket" perfectly.  It's time to come in out of the heat...and cool off...at a summery, luncheon table for four!
*
*
*
Mmmm...refreshing!!!  I think it's feeling cooler already!  Hehe!
*
*
*
Mmmm...I really do like how the crisp white and bright apple green look against the red dining room walls...don't you?
*
In fact, it was the spring and summer decor of my dining room buffet that inspired this fresh, summery table today.
*
Here is a peek at the buffet...
*
*
Lot's of cool, crisp white...with a few splashes of apple green!
*
I collect white ironstone pitchers and decided to display a few of them in the vignette for my spring/summer buffet.
*
I also love cloches...can you tell?  Hehe!  Two of my favorite cloches can be seen here!
*
*
*
On the left-hand side of the buffet...
*
An olive green transferware pitcher filled with teaspoons is showcased under a tall cloche.  I elevated the cloche on a glass pedestal plate to give it a little more "presence".  I also placed an apple green colored leaf plate under the small ironstone pitcher...to bring a "splash" of that pretty green to this side of the vignette.
*
*
*
On the right-hand side of the buffet...
*
Green apples!  Green apples under glass!  I love how they look...so fresh...and so summery!  I think that this is the largest cloche that I own.  It stands a stately 13" in height and is a whopping 10" in diameter.  I'm sure that I could stack an entire dozen of green apples easily...under this big girl!  Hehe!
*

A Summer Tablescape
*
*
*
*
*
*
"Green Apples & Lace"
The Centerpiece...
*
A white ironstone pitcher filled with white and green hydrangeas is the star attraction in this "Green Apples and Lace" table centerpiece.  The beautiful summery bouquet is sitting atop a large, green, "leaf shaped" serving platter.  It's a nice sized platter...measuring about 18" in length...it actually could double for a serving tray.  A trio of bright green apples are scattered about on the leaf platter.
*
Four crystal candleholders with apple green tapers join the mix...two on either side of the leaf platter.  And...a cloche...with a single green apple...adds another beautiful aspect to this summer table centerpiece.
*

Both sets of dishes are new and making their "debut" on this table today.

Iced tea stemware
*
"Brahms" Oneida flatware.

I love this set of dishes...they really are the most beautiful apple green color!
*
*
*
"Green Leaf" salad/dessert plate.

*
*
"Meredith" (white lace) dinner plate.
*
I love, love, LOVE the detailing on these pretty dishes. The beautiful ruffled edges...the embossed pattern of flowers with ribbons and bows...ahhh...such sweetness!!!
*
It was love at first sight!  When I seen this set of beautiful, white lace dishes at JC Penneys...I had to have them.  They were clearanced at Penney's online outlet store.  I purchased a five piece place setting...service for eight...for just $56!  The "dish angels" were smiling down on me that day! Hehe!

My "artsy" photo.
The sun was waning when I took this photo.  I love the soft light and shadows!
*
*
*
And...Voila...there you have it!
A "Green Apples & Lace" summery tablescape!  I hope that you enjoyed, my friends!

Welcome Spring 2011...A Cloche Party!

*

*
Hello my friends...I hope you're having a fabulous day!
*
The 2011 Spring Cloche Party
*
It's here...IT"S HERE!!! The party that we have all been waiting for in Blogland! The 2011 Spring Cloche Party! I just love Marty's Cloche parties! She is such a creative and talented lady...and she always has the prettiest cloches! Ohhh boy...I can hardly wait to see what she has come up with for this new spring season! Not to mention...the hundreds of beautifully decorated cloches that will be shared from all of you talented bloggers! I am sooo excited to see what ya'll have done! This is where I get my decorating ideas...so bring on the party!!!
*
Welcome Spring 2011 at Happy To Design...
*
Today the sun is shining so bright and it's beginning to warm up here in Colorful Colorado! I couldn't be happier...I have had the worst case of spring fever this year! Hehe! Soooo...away with winter and welcome spring!!!
*
White Ironstone and Apple Blossoms...

*
Spring has so sweetly arrived in my french country dining room.
*
An All White Color Theme...with a Spring Splash of Spring Green
*
As you can see, the walls that surround my dining room buffet are RED. I love, love, LOVE my red walls but the darker color presents a challenge when trying to lighten and brighten things up for the spring season! I decided to go white...all white for my dining room buffet's new spring frocks! Ooops...I nearly forgot...all white...with a few splashes of "spring green"! So out comes the white ironstone...the green apples...and a spring show of apple blossoms!
*

*

*
An Array of White Ironstone Pitchers in Different Shapes and Sizes...
*
I have been collecting white ironstone pitchers for some time now. You can see the newest addition to my collection on the far left. I found this pretty ironstone pitcher at the anitque flea market a few weeks ago. Ironstone pitchers make for a beautiful spring vignette...soft, creamy white...simplicity at it's best!
*

*
Apple Blossoms...
*
A tall white ironstone pitcher filled with long stems of blooming apple blossoms sits front and center in this buffet's spring vignette. Ahhh...beautiful long stems of apple blossoms...they just sing the praises of spring!
*

*
Two Spring Cloches
*
On the left side of the buffet...
*
A pretty olive green transferware cream pitcher (and matching saucer) filled with teaspoons is displayed under a tall cloche. A glass pedestal plate elevates the cloche for a more dramatic effect.
*

*
On the right side of the buffet...
*
A large cloche sitting upon a white charger plate with a few green apples bring that pretty "splash" of spring green to the vignette.
*

*

*

*

*
On each side of the pitcher of apple blossoms, a trio of candleholders with white tapers were added to this springtime vignette.
*

*
A sweet pair of little spring songbirds...
*

*

*
I just wanted to share this photo. I love how the reflection in the buffet's mirror picks up the view of the opposite wall in the dining room. You might catch a glimpse of a few more ironstone pitchers that are displayed on a shelf over the dining room window. And...you can see the chandelier too!
*

*
Well my friends...there you have it...a new springtime vignette! I hope that you enjoyed it!
