Shameless pet post

Feeling slightly guilty and distracted as Mr Darcy (please don't mention TOWIE - damn pig) is off for the you know what op tomorrow. Only seven months old but already 25kg and a little too in love with the ladies - not necessarily the four legged kind either - imagine Northcross Street, busy Saturday morning market, woman who hates dogs, Mr D jumped up to show his love - all of it........ I'm already showing Ed houses with 2 acres attached - unfortunately not anywhere in London, so that won't happen.

As it's a computer/office day today, not a revelling in fabric/design day, I find I've been staring at the dogs a lot - probably to avoid the computer/office work.

No outings on Peckham Rye in the near future. Poor Mr Darcy.

Thursday

dog love

Two dogs in central London - some say crazy. I think I'll say crazy once Darcy gets to his full size (ahem 20kg at 5 months), so no more dogs added to the family for now. I am however, looking over walls coveting 120 foot gardens and thinking to myself - 'ohh a couple of chickens, a ginger cat, maybe a piggie (kune kune please). For now though, just the dogs.
So to push the point home how much I love them, we do have dog door jams. It gives me great pleasure to see this little fella every morning. I will draw the line at dog portraits, dog lamps and dog cushions however and I haven't patted him, yet.....

Friday

For the love of pets....

I have a picture of my mother in my wallet, aged eight, with her first litter of kittens. Currently she has five cats, two dogs and I'm sure there are a few rescue birds in the hot water cupboard (or her pocket). Our skype calls usually involve holding up one pet or another to admire. We were privilaged to always have animals in our lives and as such can't imagine life without them.

It's a proven fact that pets reduce stress, make you happier and more centred. How often does your mind wander when stroking a cat, or contentedness descend whilst roaming the woods with your dog?

We all love to be loved, but often as we turn into adults there are times where there is a distinct human 'love' gap. We turn our sensors off, or there literally is no-one to adore us. If we had a pet instead, perhaps we wouldn't make some of those 'bad' choices, just because we were lonely.......

I know some of you can't get a pet, but it's nice to think/plan isn't it?
