Christmas Eve

This year for Christmas Eve we went to Russell's parents house for dinner and games. The kids are pretty funny when they all get together... and Loud! I love listening to them when they are at the "kids" table. They were talking about what kind of cookies they made and if they brought them to Nana's house..


We also had the kids dress up so we could read the Christmas story. Kambree was happy to be the angel this year (last year she refused to dress up) and Konnor was happy to participate this year too!

We finished up the night at Nana and Papa's house with the kids opening just one joint gift. Beckie, Nana and Papa put together these great folders with matching or other activities to help them learn the bible stories... So cute and my kids LOVE them.
We then drove home and got the kids ready for bed by reading the Night Before Christmas.

Getting so Excited

I am so excited for Christmas this year! My kids are going to be so fun! Last night we drove around to look at Christmas lights--I love doing that!

Today I found this really cool kid nativity set on CJane's blog and I love it! It seems the perfect set for the kids to play and learn with.
And quite possibly I'd like this set for myself:
Also next year I'd really like to go see the lights at Temple Square. (I've never seen them before)

Fun visit with Family

Sunday my parents and my grandparents came for a visit. I haven't seen my Grandma and Grandpa Hendrickson is such a long time that and it was so great to see them!! It's really crazy that it's been so long they only live about an hour and a half away!! (So I've decided to be better at visiting them) And of course it was fun to visit with my Dad, Linda and Riley.





Other fun things we did this weekend: sledding with friends, pizza and game night with friends and celebrating my SIL Amber's birthday! It was a very busy and fun weekend!!

I love snow for Christmas!! I really really do but as soon as Christmas is over I'm in the dreading it mode.

Week Review

We had a great Thanksgiving at Russell's parents house. All of his siblings were there this year so it was great to be all together. Even though we all live in the same place we don't always get all together like that.
I forgot to take lots of pictures. Here are some that I did take.




Konnor was totally out when we got home Thanksgiving night; we had to get his bed all ready for him so he slept on the couch a couple minutes. So cute.
Kambree wanted to show us all the pictures she had colored with Aunt Beckie when we got home.

This is Friday evening, the kids stayed in their jammies all day.... I was in the other room for awhile on the phone with my sister and when I came back out this is what I found. I guess everyone tired out early.

Other things we've been up to lately;
1. Shopping at 4 a.m. Black Friday morning. (I didn't have a lot to do this year, also it was just me so I was gone from 4-6:30 then came home and went back to bed.)
2. Hanging out watching our Netflix movies.
3. Went to Brandon's to get the box of goodies he brought home for me from my Mom's. (Both my brother and sister were at my mom's for Thanksgiving this year.)
4. Decorating our home for Christmas.
5. Took the kids on a bus ride with friends.
6. Russ and I went to a Ham Radio Holiday dinner, we both won prizes. (Russ won the grand prize!!)

Tonight:
Decorate our Christmas tree!

Twilight Movie

Last night I went with Tina to the Twilight movie. It was fun to get out and go to the movie with a friend. I think I liked the movie... It was great to go see it on screen and I know I'll see it again-- out of theaters. Overall I think they did a pretty good job with the movie but some of it seemed a bit weird. I know it can't be exactly like the book so I thought how they changed things was good I just think that some of the acting was actually quite bad... Maybe I'd like it more the second time around.
Did anybody notice that Stephenie Meyer was actually in the movie!? I thought that was kinda cool. If you didn't happen to see her, it was one of the diner scenes where Bella and Charlie ate.

They're all Friends

Konnor was playing with Batman and Iron Man today (which is pretty cute) but Kambree thought she'd join in. She wanted Batman, "Grandma Susan," Iron Man and Diego to line up since they were all friends...
For some reason this was cute to me, I wouldn't' ever think these toys could really be played with at the same time but Kambree thought they were the same enough... and that they were friends.
Kids are too cute.

Another Cute Treat

We had ward play group yesterday and the kids got to frost and put together these adorable turkey cupcakes!! (In case you would like to make some... chocolate frosting with brown sprinkles, nutter butter cookie, fruit roll-ups for the feathers cut and put on toothpicks, white frosting and mini chocolate chips for the eyes, and more fruit roll-up for the turkey's wattle. ) I'm always so grateful for others creativity I'm always stealing fun ideas...

Treat Day

Kambree has to bring the treats for preschool today and usually I just buy something that I don't have to do anything with at times like that, however I saw these cute turkey oreo guys on a blog and thought that would be fun! Kambree's really excited to get to eat one!
All you need to make these are oreo's (I used double stuff), candy corn, and whoppers).

Thankful Turkey's

Today I wanted to make a couple of fun things with the kids. What I wanted to do first was a Christmas wreath made out of hands. I have a friend who has started a blog about ideas she does with her kids. I got the idea from her here. We did that and it turned out really cute, however I was thinking maybe we really should do something about Thanksgiving first. So I stole someone else's idea.... again. My cousin Britanie did a Turkey countdown that was really cute so we did a similar thing and just did the turkey and put the things we are thankful for... The kids had a lot of fun and thought of the things they were thankful for. It was cute to hear them come up with things, some of them were pretty random.

Halloween Night

Kambree was a Care bear, Konnor a UPS man, then in our group we had Buzz, Frankenstein, a witch, and a character from High School Musical... Most of the parents were dressed up too!

We had a lot of fun, we went trick-or-treating with some friends and the kids really had a lot of fun. We found a great neighborhood to go to, the kids got excited to go knock on doors and they even got to play in lots of leaves as we walked around. SO much better than the LAME trunk or treats that a lot of people seem to do these days.
After trick-or-treating we went to a family party and had dinner and kids games.

Cinderella

Kambree dressed up as CINDERELLA for preschool yesterday! It was cute to see all the kids at her school dressed up. There were several different princesses! Cute! I'm not sure who's having more FUN dressing her up me or her!!
I know I already have a gazalion Halloween posts but of course there will be even MORE. We've got trick-or-treating tonight as well as a party to go to. I'm also hoping to post about the costume for Russell we stayed up all night finishing!

Bus Ride and Carnival

On the bus! The kids had so much fun just riding the bus. On our way to campus Kambree asked if we could sing a song while we were on the bus. (so cute) We sang The Wheels on the Bus!!

Yesterday I went with a couple of my neighbors to a Halloween carnival on campus. It had been a long time since I'd been anywhere on campus since Russ and I haven't' been in school for a few years now. We took the bus from the parking lot to where we needed to go and the kids LOVED the bus ride!! Kambree has been wanting to take a bus ride for a while now so this was a great for her!
Kambree is actually going to dress up as a pink care bear for Halloween but I figured since she has so much dress up clothes (thanks to her Nana!! ) she could be a princess or two for some other things. Snow white for the carnival and stay tuned for pictures of her as Cinderella. She gets to dress up today for preschool.
