today, I woukd like to tell you about my mom's favorite book. This is a wonderful tale of a little duck named Grey Neck, that my dear mom read to me at my early childhood, and that deeply affected my positive view of the world around.
My mother often read to me. Once, as I was about 4 years old, I fell badly ill. I felt really awful, and was very distressed. Then my mom told that she was going to read a story about Grey Neck. She was reading in a very expressing, artistic manner.
This is a story of a little duck, who was left behind in winter, afrer allher loved ones flew away to a warmer land, as she had one of her wings broken and could not join the others. The poor duck was force to spend time amidst a half-frozen pond, with ice closing in, as it was getting colder, and with a wily fox wating for a water in the pond to freeze completely.
Of course, I was very anxious about Grey Neck and was happy to see the story end well, after all.
this is a very kind and warm winter tale, one of those you still remember decades later.

Она читала очень хорошо, с выражением!
История уточки, которая оказалась зимой со сломанным крылом посреди замерзающей реки, со сломанным крылом, захватила меня.
Я, конечно, переживала за Серую Шейку и радовалась, когда все закончилось хорошо.
