Time Toooo….Say Gooooodbye

Liz Edwards (8)
Yes, in the words of Sarah Brightman & Andrea Bocelli it’s ‘Time tooooo….. say Gooooodbye’ to the awesome team over at Just Inklined and to thank them all (fellow DT members, the boss Jak Heath & the awesomeness that is the artists behind the scenes) for having me and letting me work with some amazing works of digital art.
Miss you already.

Roll on Half-Term

Liz Edwards (12)

Well the kids are back at school today after the Christmas hols’ and boy was it a struggle for us all to get up this morning after so many late nights. There were alarm clocks going off all over the house, the snooze buttons being pressed & then going off again 5 minutes later, alas not in unison so it was almost like a bell ringers convention for 20 minutes!
I’ve shimmied round with the vacuum & duster, shoved stuff in the the washing machine and shuffled bits n’ pieces of paperwork …I know, such a rock n’ roll lifestyle.
The house is so quiet, Mr C is busy at work in the ‘other room’ and is too ‘in the zone’ to have idle chats with me. Thank goodness the offspring will be back again soon & the house will return to normal.
Roll on half-term!

A Close Shave

A close shave...but not of the leg hair variety. No, it's winter for goodness sake, one needs as much natural 'foliage' as possible to stay warm on those days when Mr C has his Scrooge-Heating-Head on.
The close shave came in the form of a last minute reprieve for the printer which almost met the sharp end of a heavy implement yesterday.  Mid afternoon, after almost 24hrs of wrestling with wires & instructions, installing & uninstalling, pressing this button & that knob and having a major nervous breakdown, in rode my knight in shining armour (well...my genius-with-a-compoooooter-brother turned up in his silver Renault Megane ) and saved the day. That said, it took him a further 5 hours to work out that the printer was working fine and that a heap of Windows updates had messed up the printers program and my poor fluffy-bunny-wunny-printer-winter (that's enough sucking-up!) was innocent all the time (Gulp!)
Hoorah for my Bro'!
This was to be my final Christmas card posting this year but I've missed 2 people (EEK!) so I may have a couple more to share later in the week. Thank goodness my darling, sweet, gorgeous printer is working (do you think printers hold grudges?)

Twitter

The birds are back in the garden stuffing themselves silly in preparation for the cold weather ahead.
Some are regular feathered friends of the Tidy Garden.
Take Norman the Wood Pigeon, not the brightest of birds. The other day I watched as he pecked his way through a slice of bread. His table manners aren't particularly great, he has a habit of flicking his food across the lawn with each bite. On this occasion though, the daft-arse flicked the slice over his head onto his back and then stood gormlessly looking about wondering where it had gone!
The he gave up & wandered off to find more grub, still wearing his stale Warbuton's accessory.
It was like a panto scene with me yelling from the window "It's behind you!!!!"
Then arrived Mr Blackbird, who's clearly undecided as to which side of the fence he sits.
It all goes on in our garden.

Just Inklined Blog Hop

Morning Everyone!
It's the first Monday of the month which means Blog Hop time for the gang at Just Inklined.
Our hostess this month is Karen L and her chosen theme is 'All That Glitters'.
Now I've uploaded my cards on to ol' Blogger the glitter isn't really showing but I can assure you ALL the snow is silver glitter & the rick-rack ribbon is sparkly silver too....honest guv'!
This is just a couple of examples of the cards I've made for my lovely gardening clients this year.
I've used the beautiful Robin on a Watering Can,  coloured with Promarkers, 'oooooodles' of glitter and papers from the Papermania 'Deck the Halls' collection.
If you're joining in with our hop then you should have arrived here from our very own glittery Jak's blog, after me it's Lori for a sparkly sensation. If you want to start back at the beginning then Karen L's the place to be for a dusting of twinkle.
There are 2 spot prizes somewhere along the hop for 2 lucky bloggers who leave a comment, so good luck and enjoy!

Choose Your Anemones Wisely

Japanese Anemones are beautiful plants, easy to grow, reliable & elegant.
But...unless you keep an eye on them they'll be tapping you on the shoulder as you sleep at night, following you to work or joining you for dinner at your favourite restaurant across town!

The digi Japanese Anemone from Just Inklined is far less rampant but equally fabulous!

And They Call It...Poppy Love....uh, uh, uh...

Greetings!
For those living in Australia & New Zealand please accept my humblest apologies.
When we planted yellow poppy seeds around the garden little did we know that their roots would run so deep and pop up everywere.
Darn things!
At least, I guess, we have the pretty ends...not sure those Down Under will be too pleased with their carrot roots...Sorry!

30 Shades of Brown

Evening Campers!
Trust I find you in fine fettle.
Just a quick posting from me today as I need to catch up on some sleep. Was up in the wee hours last night, woken by the smell of smoke. It was so scarey, checked the whole house, went out in the garden (well...sent Mr C out in the garden, it was dark!!)...nothing. Then layed in bed worrying that I'd missed something so got back up again & checked everywhere again.
Can only assume there was a field smoldering somewhere & smoke was wafting our way.
Finally dropped off & by morning the smell had gone....Phew!

A Special Card

Making this kind of card is never easy and a million times harder when it's in memory of a member of your family.
This is the beautiful Rose from Just Inklined. I had used it before to make an anniversary card but it's quite special & I thought it would make the perfect 'Thinking of You' card.
Made with several layers, coloured with Promarkers and mounted onto an embossed square background.
