Movie Date with my Main Man

Last night Ryan and I went to see Snow White and Huntsman.

I've wanted to go see this movie all weekend, but we just couldn't seem to fit it in. We decided that a Monday night date night was in order.

I loved it! Click here to read the NY Times review. It's pretty much right on.

The movie was a darker version of the classic fairy tale. And YES, the movie does feature the beloved dwarfs. Just so you know, they are indeed in the movie.

At the end of the day go see the movie if for nothing else Chris Hemsworth aka Thor aka The Huntsman.

I mean, really, go see it because he's in it. He's so handsome.

I loved him as Thor, and I think he still, hands down, looks the best in Thor, but I will take him with the darker locks and more slender bod of the Huntsman.

Charlize Theron kills it as the crazy evil stepmother/Queen. Awesome villain that one. Not to mention beautiful.

Surprisingly, Kristen Stewart didn't ruin the movie. I loathe her in the Twilight movies (or any interview/award show she does) so I was a little uneasy about her being Snow White, but it actually worked.

Again, it was good. Go see it. If for nothing else, like I mentioned above, go for this guy:

You won't regret it.

Oh Hi, Friday! Good to See You!

Can you believe Christmas is in just nine days? I have got to get aggressive this weekend and finish up my shopping. I started out strong and then fizzled out.

On to more important matters....

Yesterday I was out of work, as I've been beat down by a serious cold. This is no fun, however, it did allow me to curl up on the couch for a day and half and indulge in Christmas movies and daytime television.

Yesterday morning the nominations for Golden Globes were announced. Nothing huge about that, however, what was awesome about it was Gerard Butler.

How handsome! Ryan was getting ready for work, and I found myself suggesting he grow his hair out like Mr. Butler's. And then that accent.... I watch P.S I Love You every time it's on because of this guy.

I think I have a thing for bearded men that look a little rough around the edges!!

Later in the day I realized I actually was quite ill when I watched an entire LIFETIME movie. I loathe Lifetime movies, yet in a drug induced haze I found myself engulfed in figuring out who the murder was, what his motives were, and why all those women were being killed?

It got weird.

After some serious TV watching I hit the web. This little snippet, "Shit Girls Say" cracks me up. I watched it earlier in the week and then again yesterday. It's so true. I say every single thing mentioned.

I mean, listen, can you do me a huge favor? Hilarious.

Then I found out that yet another Nicholas Sparks book, Lucky One, will be coming to theaters in the near future. The main star happens to be a celebrity crush of mine (one of many)!

It might be a good one... who knows.

That's all I've got for today...

...I hope you all are done shopping and can spend your weekend gazing at your Christmas Tree whilst sipping hot chocolate.  I will be fighting the holiday crowds to hook Daddy, The In-Laws and Ryan up with a Christmas gifts! No family member left behind!!!!

HO! HO! HO!

Random Nonsense/Making up for Lost Time/A Reason to Google "Ryan Gosling Shirtless"

It's Random Nonsense Friday, crazies.

1. I made a Christmas List for my husband, family, and In-laws. I realize that makes me seem like an eight-year-old, but they asked me for it. I had a job to do and I did it.

Here are a few things I'm longing for this Christmas Season:

1 : 2 : 3 : 4 : 5 : 6
I'm going to be honest my list ended up being over 20 items which ranged in price.  I just love lots of things and all these blogs don't help matters. I justified the list by stating that I DO have a birthday and Christmas in the same month.

2. On a different note, I recently attended a movie night with friends and family. We ate chili and different types of dip, then settled in for the movie, CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE. Believe it or not my Grandma attended the movie night and selected the movie.

Let's say first of all, that Ryan Gosling is one sexy man. He had me at Noah but I loved him when the Dirty Dancing song dropped the beat in Crazy Stupid Love and he was standing there shirtless. I mean, goodness gracious.

I am hoping that one day I come home to the radio playing "I"ve had the time of my life..... " and Ryan waiting for me to run into his arms so that  can lift me over his head for no reason at all other than to welcome me home. {ryan work on this}

And last but not least I have a few other things to cover...

3. As the colder weather sets in sometimes the only thing that can warm our souls is lots of food, and maybe a little bit of candy. So let's not watch the Victoria Secret Runway Show and become discouraged. I mean, yeah they have super hot bods, but after reading this little diddy over of Day Old News I thought myself... no wonder I don't have that hot body... I only worked out once today and actually ate three meals.

4. When I read this post over on Pink Lou Lu I laughed out loud. It's a list of drinks and what they 'say' about you.

For the most part I'm a beer drinking kind of gal. According to the list it means I'm a laid back gal who can hang with the guys. I will agree.

But I laughed out loud at the Vodka Gimlet, which stated You're a huge dork, but you hope sort of in a cool way?

Lacey got me started on those one night at Julianna Tokyo. I should have known she was leading me to love of a drink that portrays that I am a huge dork. ha.

And all this time I thought I was cool when ordering the ole Vodka Gimlet.

See you next week. Hope this random, all over the place post makes up for the lack of posting that's been going on here.

Word to your motha!

New Country Strong Celebrity Crush.

*this was my regularly scheduled post for today...

This post is mostly about Garrett Hedlund and a little bit about the movie Country Strong.

I was first introduced to Garrett Hedlund back when he played Cracker Jack in the movie Four Brothers.

Who didn't cry when Cracker Jack got killed? I was at the theater crying like a baby.

After Four Brothers,  I didn't hear anything from Garrett (that I can recall) for quite some time.

However, just a couple of weeks ago Ryan and I rented TRON. I was reluctant but Ryan wanted to check it out. Alas, being the ever selfless wife that I am I went with it. It had nothing to do with the fact that what I wanted to rent was all checked out.

Well, much to my liking... good ole Cracker Jack was the main star of TRON. I was instantly glad we rented that one!

Then I came across this post over on I Hate Green Beans.

I had no idea until then that Cracker Jack/ TRON was a character in Country Strong!

But here's the thing... I may have had a tiny celebrity crush on Garrett Hedlund, but when I heard his voice in Country Strong it was all she wrote.

He plays a rough around the edges, guitar picking, country crooner with a heart of gold  in this movie and I fell in love.

I loved the movie too by the way. Good story. Heartbreaking and sweet at the same time. I teared up a little and then rejoiced.  I would definitely recommend watching it.

However,  at the end of the day I want to buy this movie just to watch Garrett Hedlund. I'm telling you right now, go watch this movie... if for nothing else let it be because you want to watch him!

Here's a little sample:

Please enjoy this yummy goodness! Oh and TGIThursday, as it's my Friday. I'm off to the beach for a wedding and fun! See you on the other side of the weekend.

Hot Pants!

I've seen this photo of LC on several different blogs (as seen right here on one of my favorite celeb blogs) this week...

photo cred because we all know I have not being snapping pics of LC

...and I am really feeling her flared jeans!

The Look for Less (also a favorite blog) gives a great option with the Gap's Flare Denim for $69.50.

I also spotted this high waisted "flared" option from Urban Outfitters a few weeks ago for around $60.00, which a friend of mine purchased and then so kindly modeled for us.

You can bet  I will be hoppping on this bandwagon real soon!

CAN. NOT. WAIT

I love me some books. I love me some reading. I love being whisked away by my imagination to another place, another time...

I once did an interview for a college scholarship... when asked about my hobbies I paused and thought:

oh shit I don't really have an avid hobby. Yeah I like to hang out with friends and family, but I'm sure they get that a lot. I don't ride horses (and won't again for quite some time). I don't play a sport. I don't know what I can say in this moment to win this panel over.

Then it hit me.

The panel of people interviewing me consisted of maybe two males and five females. I knew just what to say.

So I proceed to explain that I'm interested in many different things.(win for me) I love lots of things and have many hobbies (well rounded) but at the end of a long day my favorite thing to do it curl up with a good book (intelligent). I told them nothing was better than reading a good ole romance novel to take your mind off the issues of everyday life.

I won the ladies over with that  statement because who doesn't love a good ole naughty romance novel to enjoy a little escape from their every day life.

Long story short. I got that scholarship and it paid for two years of my college education... books and all.

I say all of that to say... BOOKS ARE COOL! I love them!!

And when a book is made into a movie I can't help but be sucked in.

If I have read a book and it then comes out as a movie I have to go see it. Have to. 8 times out of 10 the movies can't compare, but I still have to check it out and see. Harry Potter is pretty right on. The Twilight movies do NOT come close to comparing in my opinion.

And now yet another book that is coming out in movie form that I talked about in this post back in June. I loved the book Water for Elephants and I can. not. wait to see the movie.

The trailer looks really good!

Come on April 22, 2011!

Gun Powder & Lead

Long time, no see, essay.

I've been super busy. As in, work is sucking it up, what with all these end of year reports I've had to complete.  Then last week I had to head out of town for training from Tuesday to Friday. So that was pretty intense and left me no room to blog. I mean, I could have done it over the weekend, but I ain't down with computer time on my off time. I think it has something to do with sitting at a computer for like 8 hours a day. I'm just sayin.

So speaking of training... It was intense, but I met some great people that work in the same field as me. It's always great to get a fresh perspective on things.

I was particularly fond of two girls who both happened to be from Illinois. They were sweet and on my level (a little bit or as much as is to be expected).

They decided I was the quintessential southern bell...  In their opinion, I was your stereotypical southern girl. Blond hair, blue eyes, sweet as honey, with a THICK southern drawl.  I had those gals fooled (about being so sweet any way)!!

Well, as they were explaining to me that I was just the typical southern girl it hit them at the same time who I reminded them of...

MIRANDA LAMBERT!!

Now, this is nothing new for me. It's become quite the joke how many people have told me I look like Miranda. The first time I heard about this I was a young buck in a bar in Auburn and some guy was all... "You look just like Miranda Lambert. I think it's the cheek bones." I still haven't figured out where he was going with that... but he did not win my heart. (side note to any guys out there: do not comment on a girls cheek bones... that's weird. Go with something like "You have beautiful eyes" or "Your have the hottest bod." Don't go commenting on cheek bones or knees or anything else weird).

And so the  Miranda trend has continued. I don't know how much I agree, but I guess I should be flattered to be compared to any celebrity (unless it's Barbara Streisand, which happened one time too. I just plain ignored that)

So after my new friends referenced Miranda Lambert I got to thinking... What was it about me that causes people think of her?

Is it that we both have blond hair, blue eyes and apparently similar cheek bones?

Is it that people realize I am a natural performer just like Miranda?

Apparently we both have fans screaming, "You're number one!"

Or maybe it's that I favor her and my boo is tall, dark, and handsome just like hers?

I'm thinking if Ryan shaves his beard and slicks his hair back and we both tote around guitars... we have our next Halloween costume.

At the end of the day it may just be that she and I both have professional photo shoots in rustic settings? We even pose similarly- leaning to the left, showing no teeth, a bit cocky... If only I'd taken my damn guitar to my photo shoot.

Who knows exactly what it is, but Miranda is pretty, wild, and free... So I suppose I'll take it!

It's just me and Charlie talkin'...

What's the low down with y'all? What celebrity have you been compared to?

O.T. Extended Thanksgiving W.

Ahhh... I love, with my entire heart, a good extended holiday weekend!

It was action packed and we were on the go pretty much the entire time.

On Thanksgiving Eve it's a tradition for everyone who is home for the holiday to head up to a local pub-type bar for a reunion of sorts. Everyone from your past (both good and bad) is in one place. Old friends, high school classmates, you name it they show up on that particular night for drinks and catching up.

I didn't snap any pictures at Cecil's on Thanksgiving Eve but Lacey did... GO HERE to check it out.
Thanksgiving morning started out with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade... and then we made our rounds. I have officially eaten FIVE, yes five, traditional thanksgiving lunches. Between the lunch we had at my place of employment and then the two for my family (dad's side, mom's side) followed by the two for Ryan's family. I don't care to have a casserole for at least a month.
This is just one table at my mom's family Thanksgiving lunch. In the words of a dear cousin (shout out), "We are so blessed."

My Mom, Maw Maw, Bro, and hubs. Ryan's hair is getting really long. He feels like he can't cut it until Auburn's season comes to an end... it's all about superstitions around here.

Ryan and I were fortunate enough to have a house guest for the weekend. His sister, Ali, called our house home for a few nights, which is always fun!

The talk at all the family gatherings we attended was about football. The much anticipated IRON BOWL (Auburn v. Alabama) was coming up on Friday and everyone had an opinion. Auburn and Alabama fans alike, were anxious for the game to go down.

Friday morning we got up and decked out in our Orange and Blue... the game started out a little on the rough side for Auburn but we rallied during half time and came back to win BY ONE POINT!! I like to think that Alabama fans went from the highest high to the lowest low. (I suppose they now know how we felt last year).

For some reason after the game was over we had a photo shoot with an iPhone...

Family Picture.
Deidra harassing Maggie pretty hard core and Maggie thinking please let me down!
Maggie was obviously not cooperating for the above picture so Deidra and I held her tightly... We can be too much.
This picture has really caused some confusion. In that moment... high on the excitement of the win Deidra, Lacey, and I decided to hold up Darvin Adam's number which happens to be 89.... Deidra is eight and Lacey and I are the nine. The caption read "DA for MVP." No, it does not make sense right now... but like I said the first half of the game was pretty rough so we may have pounded pretty heavily.

Here's a crazy celebrity side note. Molly Sims tweeted this picture of her at the game this past Friday. She's rocking a #2 jersey for Cam Newton. Who knew she was an AU fan?
On Sunday I got in some shopping. I have half of my shopping down and half left to go. I'm looking at you, Ali, Benny, and Clay... when I say I don't know what to get a few people.

Last night we concluded the weekend with a movie. We went to see Love and Other Drugs. I'm not sure what I expected, but it was not at all what I thought it would be. Let's just say I saw a lot of Anne Hathaway and just as much of Jake Gyllenhaal, as there was a good bit of nudity in the movie.

When the alarm clock chimed at 6:30 this morning I wanted to cry (I think Ryan may have teared up even) because it is so hard for a holiday to come to an end.

Now we must let the Christmas Season commence! The Christmas tree must be put up, stockings need to be hung by the chimney with care, holiday parties must be had, and Christmas music can officially be blasted!!

Bring on the holiday fun!

On the Telly last night...

Last night was some fun television (in my opinion)!!

First of all, Pioneer Woman was on Food Network's Throwdown with Bobby Flay. Bobby headed to the ranch for a thanksgiving feast challenge. It was so fun to watch!! I won't say who won in case any of you  have it TiVo'd to watch later.

Then in the nine o'clock spot People's Sexiest Men Alive came on ABC. According to Ryan, I'm what he considers "boy crazy." However, I am not. I'm celebrity crazy. I have a crush on lots of celebrities. After the show I told Ryan to guess my favorite all time sexiest man alive...

He tossed out such names Gerard Butler, Orlando Bloom (I think this was a joke), Jake Gyllenhaal and the likes. But never did he guess the one guy I would choose as my personal all time favorite from the the People Magazine's list of all time Sexiest Men Alive.

I refused to tell him for quite some time because, quite frankly, if you know me even a little bit then you should be able to guess the answer to that question.

He thought long and hard and would occasionally toss out yet another guess. "Johnny Deep," he'd say. To which I would reply, "No! Come on. You know this."

(this is one of the reasons I love Ryan. He goes along with random nonsense I come up with)

As we finally settled into bed... he told me I had to tell him before we went to sleep. So I decided to give him a hint.

The hint would only be one word and if he couldn't figure it out by that one word I would never disclose my all time celebrity crush.

The one word was "BONGOS."

He immediately knew exactly who my celebrity crush was... and I'm sure you do too!

Matthew McConaughey!!!!!

There's just something about Matthew's free spirit, hot bod, and sexy smile that I love. I mean, who does an interview with Barbara Walters and admits that there is no other way to play the bongos other than in the nude?

Country Crooner

As I've stated here before I love all things celebrity. From a good sit down with US Weekly to an awards show... I'm on it.

So Wednesday night when the Country Music Awards were on I couldn't help but flip back and forth to check it out. I love seeing what the celebrities are wearing, who sings what... and I even enjoy vocalizing my opinion about how well (or not) a group performs.

Ryan may have had to sit through comments such as, "When did Rascal Flatts become obsessed with glitter and diamonds? I swear, they each have on more sparkle than any man should ever wear. Ugh."

Ryan- Sorry you had to sit through that...

I would love to be able to attend the CMA's one year. I just think that would be so much fun. You see, I used to dream of being a county music star. True story. I even took it so far as to declare that as the occupation I hoped have upon graduation from high school. (and here's the kicker-- I do NOT sing)

When I was in the ninth grade going to the tenth grade it came time for my annual TAP (teach and parent) Conference. Prior to the conference my advisement teacher (whom I wasn't fond of) sat down to discuss the types of classes I would need to take over the next three years of high school.  For some reason this required that I explain what I "wanted to be when I grew up." So without hesitation I declared that I would love to be a country music singer when I grew up and asked her what type classes that would require. Looking back, I think I half way responded with that because I do think it would be an amazing job and the other half of me probably just wanted to piss the teacher off. Ahhh, the fun that is a teenager.

So needless to say, as I tuned in to the CMA's Wednesday night I had a few opinions.

If I had become a Country Music Crooner I would definitely have a personal trainer. No doubt about it. I was disappointed to see Kellie Pickler at this year's award show. I'm not sure what the deal was. I just was not feeling her look.

Is she preg and I don't know about it? I googled that question and apparently lots of people are wondering the same thing. She did recently get engaged, so maybe she is preg.  But that wouldn't explaining why she is so pale...

I'm mean look at her bod from a year or so ago:

I'm just saying.

If I were a country music star I would strive to look like this:
Carrie Underwood is so pretty, however, I've heard stories of Carrie not being the sweetest thing if you happen to run into her at a restaurant...
The biggest surprise of the evening, although it was no surprise at all, was when Gweneth Paltrow debuted her country music talents.

She sang with Vince Gill and it was actually not too bad. Props to her for branching way out. I would have totally hung with Gweneth after the show.

And last but not least... my favorite country couple would have to be these two:

Ryan and I would totally double date with Miranda and Blake. I'm sure Miranda would want to drink a few beers, as she seems to be quite the outlaw.

Overall, what I watched of the award show was quite entertaining. Now I'm off to brush up on my singing as I would much rather be on a tour bus headed to my next big show then sitting here at work counting down what seem like endless minutes until quitting time.

Happy Friday Yall!

My Celebrity Sightings

I am pretty obsessed with all things celebrity. I read US Weekly and People just about every week. I love knowing the latest trends, who's dating who, and even who's expecting a baby.

You can only imagine that I am always on the lookout for celebrities while traveling. I'm constantly thinking... Jessica Simpson could be in the airport right now, or maybe Bradley Cooper is on my flight. I realize that the chances are slim to none... but I always have a tiny bit of hope.

Two years ago I took a trip out to Steamboat, Colorado with my family. Before I left I joked with friends that I would probably see several celebrities, which I would harass for a picture (but in a cool... you're just [insert celebrity's name here] way).

Well, as the trip progressed, I hadn't even seen a person that looked vaguely familiar. Then we missed our flight home. It was a tough pill to swallow, as we would be stuck in the Denver Airport for several more hours. We decided to make the best of it and grab some food... and that's when it happened. I saw him out of the corner of my eye... scooting past us full speed.

It was this guy....

The dad from the TLC series, "Little People, Big World."

We harassed him for a picture and asked him how Amy and the kids were... and off he went.

That was my celebrity sighting. No, it wasn't Bradley Cooper or Jessica Simpson. But I've learned in life you take what you can get. I embraced it even.

Well, this past trip to Rhode Island... I hadn't even thought about seeing a celebrity.

I was just minding my own in Charlotte, NC, enjoying some pizza... when all of a sudden I see this guy:

I was all, Katie Beth, that is Wee Man. Are you kidding me? Wee Man from Jackass... right there. But it all happened so fast that he was gone before I could grab the camera for a picture with him.

It cracked me up... my second celebrity sighting in an airport... and it was my second celebrity little person.

On my next trip I am going to have my eyes peeled for this guy...

Because, at this point, why wouldn't I see Gary Coleman?

**My mom feels as though I should point out that this post was written prior to the passing of our dear little person Gary Coleman. My chances of running into him have deminished. RIP Gary.**
