Viva Phoenix?

.

So, I had never seen the Hoover dam before. Fortunately, it's right on the way to Phoenix when traveling by way of Las Vegas. We didn't stay long, just a couple of minutes so we could snap this picture, but you could probably stay for hours taking the tour and walking around. It is massive, and beautiful. And, if you look closely, you can see my new hair cut. :)

Finally, we made it to Phoenix, our home for the next 4 months. The apartment we are living in is at least twice the size of the Love Shack, it will be hard to down size when we move back to Provo.

We were excited to attend our new ward today. We looked it up online last night and the ward meets at 11:30. We decided to leave at 11 so we could walk to church. When we got there, a meeting was in progress. I thought maybe it was just the prior ward's sacrament meeting running over until I saw the TV broadcasting the meeting in the hall. We realized that it was Stake Conference. Maybe those dates should be posted on LDS.org too... because we had no idea. But we enjoyed our 40 minutes of church!

Viva Las Vegas

.Between leaving Provo and moving to Phoenix we stopped in Las Vegas for a little vacation with the Darbys & the Underhills (Joseph's best friends from growing up). Yes, the wives were there even though this picture leads one to believe otherwise. The boys took this picture while golfing together (with Ryan's brother Matthew)... and the girls were supposed to take a picture while shopping, but we were having too much fun to remember to pull out the camera.

So, if you are planning a trip to Las Vegas, we highly recommend the Cirque Du Soleil show, Ka. Wow... talk about incredible. It is definitely worth the price of admission, if you ask us. Also, the gardens at the Bellagio are pretty incredible. Even the guys liked them. Right by the gardens there is a little dessert shop. I am not sure we have ever seen such delicious delicacies. And the fruit topped crepe & strawberry gelato we enjoyed was incredible. There was a chocolate fountain there as well, which you have to see to believe. It spans from floor to ceiling (about 14 feet) and pumps over 1 ton of white, milk & dark chocolate combined!

So Long Love Shack

.
What is the "Love Shack" you ask? Well, that is the nickname of our prior residence. The little home in the parking lot of the reception center was deemed the Love Shack at some point and I guess the name stuck. Anyway, we spent about 20 of our happily married months there... and we are excited to say that we have moved on! Here are some pictures so you can get an idea of what it was like. Sadly, I actually think the pictures make it look bigger than it really is.

Spring?

.
Someone should tell Utah that it is supposed to be spring. We had a few days of snow the past two weeks. Aren't we done with that already? Oh well. I'm sure we'll miss it when we are in the 100+ temperatures of Arizona this summer.
Last week Joseph took a trip to Penn State for some work on his thesis. While there, he had a cheese steak sandwich, but unfortunately, he has had better in Utah. Maybe it has to be specifically from Phili to be a true cheese steak. Go figure.

I shot my first Bridal photos last weekend. My friend Bekah makes a beautiful bride, and we had a lot of fun at the shoot together. Below are some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

I also had my second engagement shoot last week. This time it was for my cousin Amy. Unfortunately it was cloudy and cold because a storm was blowing in that actually brought snow the next morning. But, Amy said it was "survivable" and I think we got some pretty good shots in spite of the weather.

See more photos from these shoots at www.picasaweb.google.com/mrslaurawilde and click on the Amy & Brian album. I'm also shooting Amy's Bridals and a Wedding next Saturday, so I'll post more photos again soon.
