Glitter makes everything better...

Over the weekend, my husband found an estate sale within a few minutes from our cottage. We didn't walk away with much, I did snatch up this faded Christmas planter for .50 cents.
Although my craft room table is currently covered with lots of orange and black crafting supplies, out came a few bottle brush trees and loads of glitter.
Don't you agree that everything is better with glitter?

Patriotic decorations at the Plantation

It's been a wonderful birthday/Memorial weekend.
We couldn't ask for better weather.   Not too hot and loads of sun!
On my birthday, we traveled to South Haven to enjoy some time at one of my favorite antique malls (Murphy's Antique Mall).  We also spent some time on the beach soaking up the sun and enjoying the view of Lake Michigan.
Hard to believe this was the same beach back in February!!
In honor of Memorial weekend, the plantation ladies have been busy at work getting things ready for their own patriotic celebrations.  The little blondie with the patriotic hat was designed by Magpie Ethel.
A tiny red wagon has been decorated for a mini parade.
The table is set with pie and fresh berries.
After the baby goes down for a nap, a croquet match will be taking place on the front lawn.
A light-up star necklace has been added to the picket fence.
The bunting was made from folded crepe paper available at the Dollar tree.
Wishing you all a blessed Memorial Day...and most importantly, thanking all who have volunteered to give their ALL for our freedom.
 XOXO

Our eggs-traordinary reveal (like you'd expect anything less)!

Several years ago, we made a couple of minion Easter eggs based on the Despicable Me movie.

 This picture was from 2011.
This year the girls have fallen in love with the movie Frozen and so we decided to make the snowman Olaf out of two of our non-dyed eggs.

Out came my glue gun, marker, yarn, googly eyes and pipe cleaners.

 Isn't he rather cute?

Of course, we also made a few dyed eggs.    I don't know who has more fun decorating eggs (me or the girls)!

Another familiar Easter tradition is the return of Mr. Easter Bunny to the front porch.
Mr. Easter Bunny is sporting a new pink bow this year and I added some Christmas lights and plastic eggs to the window box.  I have a few more things to share later this week.  Until then, Easter hugs from our house to your own!!

PS.  We woke up to fresh snow this morning.

I'm sure no one is surprised, but I had to document it on the blog.
Today is only a high of 36 but we are expected to see 50s later this week.

Mail call and the Easter Bunny plays with glue guns!

I have to thank two of my favorite blogging friends who recently sent me packages.
Linda from Lutaandco sent me a box filled with dolls just waiting for makeovers.

I haven't had time to play with all of them, but one of them is now ready for a future patriotic celebration at the Plantation dollhouse.
She also sent me several handmade Easter ornaments.

I just added some fresh white glitter and a few new embellishments.
She also included a few  pumpkins that will be perfect on my Halloween tree.  Thank you, Linda.

Lynne from Irish Garden House sent me two special vintage sugared eggs.
I worked hard to capture the interior with my camera. Here's a peek at one of the insides.
Thank you, Lynne.  Aren't blogging friends are so generous?  Thank you, ladies!

Saturday morning, the Easter Bunny went on a quick trip to Five Below and purchased a couple of $1 wind up toys.

Did you know that the Easter Bunny plays with glue guns?

For those of you observing Lent, Happy Palm Sunday! The Easter decorating countdown continues at our house!  PS.  The Easter rabbit blow mold light will be making an appearance soon.

A 25 cent box of happiness, a winner and a Easter Parade!

I spent twenty-five cents at a recent estate sale.
Meant to be used as Christmas ornaments, I thought with a little makeover, I could turn one of them into a Easter rabbit...maybe something Magpie Ethel might even approve of!
Emma was busy celebrating her best friend's birthday and Josie was being camera shy after swim lessons this evening, so tonight's winner of my Kim K. Easter give-away is Donna from (Donna's Lavender Nest). Congratulations, Donna.
Send me your postal address and I'll get your goodies in the mail right away.  For everyone else, I love giving away my creations as much as I enjoy making, them so you can plan on additional Kim K. give-away opportunities in the future.
I thought you'd like to see the Easter parade happening in certain parts of the house right now.
Vintage dessert picks all cozy together in a nutcup basket.
A few Gurley candles file into place for their spot in the parade.
Momma duck pulls along her baby chick to get a better view.
Pom pom and needled felted creations by Viv's Whimsy also line up.
The rabbit pin cushion is a favorite parade entry from Elizabeth's  Dime Store Chic.
The rabbit on a the tricycle is glad to be participating in this year's parade. He was an estate sale rescue last summer.
Aren't they a rather colorful bunch of entries in this year's parade? This isn't even everything. I told you that my holiday tubs have been multiplying like rabbits!
