Feathers at Stamplorations

Here it is the end of the month and I am just now getting my card
posted for the Stamps and Feathers January challenge

This is from their blog :

Put your own spin on this month's theme -- as long as you use stamps in your projects (as opposed to projects without stamping whatsoever) and you include an element that you associate with "feathers" -- feather stamps, designer paper with bird or feather designs, feather or bird stickers, die-cuts, or embellishments -- we'd love to see them!

For my card I used the feathered quill from Doodle Pantry's set
I have had this in my head for most of the month and just couldn't seem to get it made. That ever happen to you?
I used Spellbinders Fleur de Lis dies along with a lovely text paper from Glitz's
"French Kiss" paper pad with the notebook paper from Basic Gray's Manilla pad.
:

For the inside I used the very same quill image, I did increase the
transparency level to lighten it so that anyone writing on the inside
could see their words more clearly.
Loved making this one....

Be sure to stop by at Stamplorations and look around, I have entered
all three of this month's challenges and I am keeping my fingers
crossed that I might be lucky enough to win some of their fun stamps.
If not, may just have to do some shopping.
Be sure to bookmark them and join in next month, I plan to!

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for
taking the time to stop by, hope to visit with you soon.

Beccy's Place Roses

It has been a while since I have played along in the monthly challenges at Beccy's Place so I was excited to use some of her beautiful images in my card this week.
This is Beccy's Ribbon Roses in Color. I added some of my new glitter from Silhouette and it matched so beautifully with the colors that she used.

A bit of dry embossing, an oval Spellbinders die and sheer/satin ribbon and I was done.
If Beccy's is a new blog for you, why not stop by for a visit. She is always sharing new images, tips and ideas. Her challenge runs until the end of the month.

Muse Challenge #3

I am excited to again be playing at the Muse Card Club for their Challenge #3 using this beautiful card by Laurie Willison as our inspiration point!

                                           IMG_9768_edited-1

If you haven't seen this new take on challenges, please stop by and take a look!

Here are the simple rules:

Use the Muse card as inspiration, explain your interpretation and link back to Muse
Provide supportive comments to at least 3 of your fellow member's submissions
Vote for 3 of your fellow member's submissions that you find inspiring.

I was inspired by the beautiful vines and flowers  and the two background panels as well as the large flower and gorgeous orange color.

I  switched the floral paper to my background letting it peek through my cut vines
which were cut with the Cameo. I sponged Tim Holtz distress inks in rusty hinge
and spiced marmalade on a dictionary page afterward die cutting it with
Spellbinders carnation collection dies.

Hope you take time to check this out, I know you will love it!

Seize the Birthday....

Several weeks back I came across an announcement of a new challenge blog
coming out that would focus on birthday cards.
It is called Seize the Birthday and you can find their very first challenge by clicking here , I am sure lots of you already know about this as I have been seeing lots of entries on your blogs for this great site but for those of you that don't , please stop by for a visit.

They will be having two sketches each month with the players creating both a feminine and masculine card with each of these.
This week's sketch takes a feminine turn and next week we will use
the very same sketch to create a masculine card.

As I have a few people that like to purchase my cards as well as a couple of
locations in town that sell them for me, this is the perfect way for me to
add to my stash. Love this challenge site!

For my card today I used papers from the very first paper pack that I purchased from Pink Paislee "Butterfly Garden", it has always been a favorite of mine and I am afraid there are not
too many sheets or embellishments left, so sad!
My floral image is from Stampin' Up's "Elements of Style" stamped in Old Olive with the sentiment
from "Well Scripted" stamped in Versafine Vintage Sepia.

Now, as I am cutting this a bit close getting my card done and posted I had better close, you will still have time to enter your card if you hurry as the deadline is tomorrow, Tuesdaythe 15th at Noon.
Thanks for stopping by.....

It's Release Day at Doodle Pantry

Happy November 1st....and that means that that it is time for this month's new release
at Doodle Pantry where you are going to love this month's new sets!

I have had the pleasure to work with Poinsettia  which includes outline as well
as color images, digital papers and sentiments. What a value!!!

Poinsettia

My first card is a little on the rustic side, I used some burlap ribbon with the sentiment and love
this plaid paper with the crumb cake card stock.

My second card is my creation using an idea that I saw somewhere last year
where someone suggested using the pre made photo cards available
during the holiday season to create a fast and simple card.
I found a couple of boxes of these cards on clearance after
Christmas. I am afraid after cutting all of the foliage, my ornaments and hand
cutting the ornament tops, it wasn't very fast, lol!
The poinsettia background was perfect with this set. The card
has a couple of pieces of tape (and I added a bit more) which I used
to attach the gold metallic die cut.
I used Spellbinder circle dies and a Stampin' Up scalloped punch
to create my ornaments along with a ornament topper stamped and hand
cut from a Justrite set. I die cut several pieces from Spellbinders
Foliage die set to create my pine topper.

I love the way they printed the inside sentiment which enables the card to be turned
vertically or horizontally. I hope to give this a try soon on
some of my cards.

Our challenge at the Doodle Pantry Blog begins today at Noon, don't miss it!
Just for entering our challenge where the only rule is to use a DP image you
will get free
this month's set: Holiday Cactus which you can see on the blog at Noon.

Winter Star is our free with any purchase for November.

Winter Star - Nov 1-24 Free w/purchase

We look forward to seeing what you create with Laurie's beautiful images and

Vintage Text at Sugar Creek Hollow!

Good morning my friends. How is your weekend, off to a great start I hope!

How about some texting? Not the kind you may do on your cell phone but some vintage text on your shabby chic/ vintage style card for this week's challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow . We ask that you
use text either in your papers or sentiment or any other creative way you may want to use text.

My text is in my background papers and the sentiment tagged in my bow.

I also used my favorite sentiment on the inside of my card. Creating this card
for some dear friends that took us out to dinner the other night.
After years of sharing dinners, dance nights and life, we got busy with our
own plans and had not done this for quite some time, so the night was full
of good conversation and memories.
Believe me when I say, we will be doing this again soon!

I am sure you will all love this image I am using this week since so many of you love vintage
things. This is Fancy Shoe from Doodle Pantry
I love this shoe and have seen it colored many different ways, all beautifully!

The lace and trims along with a punched border adds some texture to my card front.

Be sure and stop by at Sugar Creek Hollow to see what the rest of our talented team has created this
week to inspire you, it is with great sadness that I tell you that as of today our teammate Holly Young has stepped down. We will miss her creativity and great spirit as I know you will, but we wish her only the best in life.

I wanted to show you this picture of my Azalea blooming this past week, this is the first time I have ever seen an Azalea bloom in October. We planted this one in the spring after receiving it at my Mother-in-law's funeral. I could not believe my eyes. Also, I want to apologize for being absent lately, we have been away
on a trip and I have just been behind on my blogging.
Hope to see you soon, enjoy your day!

Card Details:
Paper: Stampin' Up crumb cake and black, My Mind's Eye lost and found Blush
Ink: Versafine onyx black, distress ink antique linen and frayed burlap, Spectrum Noir markers
Other: Spellbinders Labels One, Want2Scrap pearls, Martha Stewart punch, Lace and trim from outlet, Paper Studio
burlap ribbon, Stampin Up word window punch, linen thread, purely pomegranate satin ribbon,
Stamps: digital Fancy Shoe Doodle Pantry, Stampendous  friend sentiment, thank you from Stampin' Up Noteworthy

A Nap for Autumn

Hello friends!

Are you familiar with Sassy Cheryl's digital images?

I first discovered Cheryl's images while designing at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and fell in love with her unique designs. She features such a great variety of characters in her designs.

I recently went shopping at Sassy Cheryl's (She even has a bargain bin) and picked up some new images. I printed this cutie out the other day and colored her with distress inks and spectrum noir markers. You can find "Nature Nap Girl" here for only 50 cents...can you believe that?

I am entering my card at Sassy Cheryl's challenge blog where the theme this week is Fall
and at The Sweet Stop where I found this great sketch that inspired me.

This image reminds me of what I love about Autumn...the ability to enjoy sitting outside in the cooler temperatures and maybe even taking a cat nap myself, clear blue skies and the last of summer flowers. I love the peaceful feel to Nature Nap Girl.

Thanks for the visit and I hope you will check out both of these great sites.

Card details:
Paper: GinaKDesigns chocolate brown, Stampin' Up baja breeze, SU Autumn Meadows design paper (retired)
Ink: Distress inks and Spectrum Noir
Other: Spellbinders circle and scallop rectangle dies, Martha Stewart oak leaf punch, Stampin Up linen thread and square punch, sentiment from SU Noteworthy set, Papertrey Ink buttons

Hello Baby....

Welcome, Sugar Creek Hollow   has a fun challenge this week asking us to create at least one design paper on our project and explain how we did it. I have created a background for my vintage baby buggy by masking the image and stamping around it with a script stamp by Hero Arts. I also made embossed papers using the Music and Swiss Dots embossing folders.

The eyelet lace and heart applique are some of my new stash of lace, ribbon and trim. I hope you can see the dimension in my buggy, I fussy cut the eyelet and hood on the buggy and used pop dots to give it some height and then added glitter to the bow and wheels.

I hope you will join us this week and show us how you have created a design paper for your card.

We will choose one random winner who will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display.  The Design Team will select their Top Pick and the creator will receive a winner's badge and will be in the running for a monthly Guest Designer spot.

We also have a Guest Designer this week at Sugar Creek Hollow and we hope you will make her welcome!

It's a Wedding or at least a Wedding Card.....

It's Challenge #12 at Sugar Creek Hollow , Pearls and Swirls and the more the merrier. This is one of those projects that just evolved and took on a life of it's own.  I knew that I wanted to focus on a sentiment as my focal point and I love this set from Gina K Designs "A Beautiful Life" and of course my wedding theme was born. I started with GKD card stock layered with Glitz Pretty in Pink papers, after doing a corner punch, I used another of Martha Stewart's border punches to make a base for my trim. This beautiful floral trim which has a tulle layer with it is so pretty in person and see the pearl trim, isn't that gorgeous.....that is another one that I picked up in my lace haul and the one that was the most expensive, 99 cents a yard, crazy huh? I added larger flat back pearls in the openings.
I had a small strip of the pearls after trimming, so I added that to my flowers.

I knew there was no way this was going into an envelope, so I created a box out of Bazzill card stock, decorating it to match my card.

I used the same elements from my card....I was really happy with my punched border on the box lid.

I used the same papers for the inside!

Hope you will join us this week at Sugar Creek Hollow!! If this is your first time seeing or hearing about our challenge blog, we are a vintage, shabby chic, primitive inspired challenge blog that loves to see what you create using our style and theme each week. My first Mother's Day card for this year....and what a fabulous set of stamps from Digi Stamp Boutique to create with, don't you just love this image and sentiment from their new set, "Mother's Day" which includes the vase of flowers and 6 sentiments....such a value. They are our sponsor for this week's challenge using this fantastic sketch from Arlana. Thanks so much Sally Ann!

The Grand Prize winner will receive 6 of Sally Ann's beautiful images and a badge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday and please don't forget to leave a comment at SSW to be eligible.

For my card this week, I created a standard A2 card and I know you are saying where is my square card?--well, I needed one in just this size for someone and as you can see the sketch works wonderfully .

I colored using a copics, Stampin' Up baja breeze, blue bayou and distress inks. I have been hanging on to this beautiful pleated ribbon for a while and decided this was the special card to cut it for....do you do that? buy something and then hate to use it?

Crafty Sentiments where they are asking us to use a digi

Birthday Wishes at Sugar Creek Hollow

Birthday- Phindy's

Hello everyone, I hope your Saturday is starting out wonderfully and I am so happy you could stop by here to see what the gang at Sugar Creek Hollow is up to. If you are not familiar with SCH, we are a vintage, shabby chic and primitive challenge blog that posts a challenge each Saturday morning. I hope you will join us in creating a card in one of these styles using this week's theme of Birthday Cards. We are sponsored this week by Phindy's Place where our winner will have their choice of one digital image.

blinkie

I used Stampin' Up cherry cobbler card stock with design papers from Webster's Pages, I cut one of the jars from this and attached it to my sentiment banner. I love how this turned out, but then I love yellows and reds together. Hope you will find time to create a card for us this week since we all can use another birthday card for our stash.

On a personal note, I am having computer hard drive problems and as I am typing I have it in for repairs. I forgot how slow my old computer was, lol, but at least I have something to post my card on. Wish me luck as I am a little lost without all of my fall backs on my computer. I just hope and pray that I haven't lost too much.

Edit: I had a virus that showed my hard drive as failed but it was not, Thank you Lord! They just had to do a virus removal, run some updates and good as new. I was very lucky to find a place that they could work on it so quickly. I am blessed in so many ways!

Happy Day my friends!

Ink: Prismas and Oms
