Mounted Men At Arms 1450-1500 - Teutonic Cavalry Thirteen Years' War

 

 

Painted in a tabletop standard and probably a little to fast - 6 mounted men at arms of the Teutonic Order. The unit consists of several Brothers and West European Guests/ Mercenaries. Not historicly correct but playing with theses is fun and thematically related.

Perry Miniatures Light Cavalry 1450-1500 #1 // Lekka jazda z Drakenborgu #1

First part of my Light Cavalry unit from Perry Miniatures. I use them as light cavalry archers  in Song of Blade and Heroes or generic  light cavalry  in Lion/Dragon Rampant games. The historic coat of arms on the banner belongs to the former polish city of Lwów (nowadays Lviv, Ukraine)  from the XV century. 

Kolejne figurki od Perry Miniatures, które pomalowałem kilka miesięcy temu. Mają za sobą już kilka stoczonych bitew ale niestety długo czekały na swoją flagę a bez niej nie chciałem ich tutaj publikować. Chorągiew Ziemi Lwowskiej z połowy XV wieku lecz figurki uczestniczą też w starciach w klimatach fantasy jako lekka jazda Księcia z Drakenborgu dlatego nie trzymam się ściśle realiów historycznych.

Today I share with you another set of flags ready to be printed for 28mm scale miniatures. Simply download the file from this location and print it on a standard sheet of A4 paper. 

  

Among them you can find two teutonic banners, two polish coat of arms (Eagle -  City of Peremyshl coat of arms, Lion - Lviv coat of arms) and one flag from Witcher universe. Miniatures from Perry Miniatures Foot Knights 1450-1500  box. I use them as heavy warriors in Song of Blade and Heroes or heavy infantry in Lion/Dragon Rampant games. Several new flags // Nowe flagi

Today I share with you some of the flags which were made by my talented sister for me. Simply print them on a standard sheet of A4 paper to get flag suitable for 28mm scale. The first flag which presents the Swan - a polish coat of arms used by Peter Dunin – supreme commander of Polish Army during the time of Thirteen Years' War between Kingdom of Poland and Teutonic Order.  Here you can read more about that interesting conflict which took place in exactly the same time as War of the Roses 

I think that second and third flag do not need an introduction - Two versions of Great Banner of Cracow – main battle standard of Polish Army in Late Middle Ages.

Another three raiders from the mounted men-at-arms box of Perry Miniatures. The whole unit is very versatile. I can use them as mounted Knights of Drakenborg during Dragon Rampant games, Polish Knights of late XV century for Lion Rampant and as single mounted warriors in Song of Blade and Heroes skirmishes.  The Great Banner of Poland was designed by me. If you like the effect you can follow my guide on how to make flags for miniatures from paper. The standard was slightly improved as I added additional color gradient to make the final banner more interesting. Kolejnych trzech jeźdźców z pudełka ciężkiej kawalerii od Perry Miniatures. Oddział jest gotowy i bardzo uniwersalny. Modele są wystawiane podczas potyczek w Dragon Rampant jako Rycerze z Drakenbogu lub jako Chorągiew Ziemi Krakowskiej podczas potyczek z Krzyżakami w Lion Rampant. Pojedynczy jeźdźcy mieli tez okazję być wystawieni w Song of Blades and Heroes.  Baner własnej produkcji wg poradnika który możecie przeczytać tutaj. Tym razem dodany został również dodatkowy gradient żeby flaga nie była "płaska".

Pierwszą część modeli składających się na ten oddział zaprezentowałem w tym wpisie. Mam nadzieję że cała jednostka Wam się spodoba.

Presented miniatures were painted last year as the test models from the Mounted Knights 1450 – 1500 box. They were the first minis of horses that I have ever painted. Depending on the system that I play they serve as Knights of Drakenborg or as heavy cavalry from the period of Thirteen Years' War between Kingdom of Poland and Teutonic Order

Prezentowani rycerze zostali pomalowani pod koniec zeszłego roku jako pierwsze i testowe modele z pudełka ciężkiej jazdy od braci Perrych. Były to pierwsze modele koni jakie kiedykolwiek pomalowałem. W zależności od systemu w który gramy służą jako rycerze z Drakenborgu lub jako jazda z okresu wojny trzynastoletniej z Zakonem Krzyżackim.

If you are my international reader I would like to excuse you as once again I wrote this post only in Polish. It presents well known models manufactured by Perry Miniatures. There are a lot of English reviews of these miniatures in the net although I have not found anything worth to mention in my language.

Minęło sporo czasu od mojego ostatniego wpisu. Musiałem odsapnąć od tworzenia makiety zamku, a poza tym zmieniałem pracę, więc ostatnich kilka tygodni nie pozostawiło mi wiele czasu na hobby.  Kilka razy usiadłem do malowania, zacisnąłem zęby i ukończyłem trzy stare projekty malarskie.  Jak tylko uda mi się pożyczyć dobry aparat, to zacznę wrzucać foty nowych modeli. Ale ja nie o tym dziś chciałem…
