Pastel Pink + Dots n Bows

It's been a while that I haven't shown any cute pink polishes and manicures.. Especially taking into account that I really like them! And I normally wear pinks all year round, there is no right or wrong season for this colour. That's why I was happy when I remembered that I have a nice pink pastel in the box of untrieds: Avon Pastel Pink, which I got thanks to lovely Antallex : ) And dots and bows, they neither need any special season or weather to wear!

But first a couple of words about the base colour.. Avon Pastel Pink is a pale pink creme with a strong touch of white - exactly what we call "baby pink". However, this baby pink doesn't tend to have a baby easy application: it's a 2-coater, but one has to struggle not to leave bald spots on nails. In the "best" traditions of opaque pastel cremes that is.. Impossible is nothing though : )

Because I have so many pastel pinks in my stash, and because Antallex asked me to, I made a comparison of pale pinks. The closest I got to Avon Pastel Pink is AA Coney Island, Pupa #202 is only close colour-wise, although it has a totally different jelly texture.

And now is the time for excessive cuteness : ) I added white dots with a dotting tool, and stamped the bow with m59 plate. Pink rhinestone to make it all even cuter : )

Cooperative Dotting

A common result of creative cooperation during the weekend : )

Materials used:
Base colour: Essence Skyscraper (Urban Messages LE) x 3 coats
Dotting: Essence Berlin Story (I Love Berlin LE)
Camera
2 pairs of hands :)

The second pair of "helping hands" was assisting me not only in shooting the photos, but also in drawing the dots. So I'm sorry for some imperfections : )
I'll tell you only one thing: we had fun : )

Inspired by Illamasqua

Surely you all have seen the video of Illamasqua on Human Funda-mehndi nail art. Somehow unconsciously I got my inspiration from it and decided to partly recreat it, adjusting to my nail shape and the polishes I have in my stash.

Since I don't own any Illamasqua polishes *sigh*, I used Essie Greenport as a base and Wet'nWild Buffy The Violet Slayer for the dots.

For those still wondering what I am talking about here's the video:

Berry Dots

I should say from the beginning: this is NOT the pattern I wanted to make, like AT ALL. But, this is what came out. Borders with a failure, but it actually looks ok in real life and not on macro photos. Judge yourself:

Products used:
Base colour: Cliché Flash (2 coats)
Dotting tools
Dotting colour: American Apparel Berry
The design I wanted to create still remains in plans : )
Is that familiar to you when you start out with a clear idea of one manicure and finish with somewhat totally different?

Chirp Chirp

Little chirp chirps are not here yet, but at list I can show you the polish - Essence Chirp, Chirp! from Naturventurista LE. I honestly don't know what it has to do with the birds, but oh well, we have seen so many other random names.

The case with this polish was - I'm sure - familiar to many of you: I was passing by it hundred times in the shops, until I accidentially saw beautiful swatches of it in Antallex's blog. After that I couldn't resist : ) To my luck, it was also discounted:

The colour is hard to describe: light beige with a touch of green and subtle pink (!) shimmer. A more precise description from my bf: "a colour of US airplanes which are designed for battles in the desert". I doubt they had pink shimmer though : )

The formula was okay, demanding a bit of attention but nothing extra difficult. On the pics you see 3 coats which dried pretty fast.

Here here here! I caught the mysterious shimmer!!! : )

As I was reluctant to stamp over this winner shade, I just made an accent finger with konad, rhinestones and a dotter:

Interesting shade, don't you find?

Autumn Go Away

Most of the blogs/posts are full of calm dusty autumn colours, but I just cannot get enough of summer. On my nails as well. And the polish I'm showing today is pure summer in a bottle - Orly Pixy Stix

No complaints about anything - colour, formula, quality - everything is just great (standard 2 coats + TC). I was shocked how great it suited my skin tone - I was sure I'm gonna complain about that, but no.. Veeery positive baby =)

And to make it even more summery and positive I tried some dotting on the accent fingers:

What about you girls? Is it totally autumn on your nails already or you still feel like wearing smth bright and shiny? :)

Dotted Peacock

My camera has no idea about the existence of teal colour. Seriously. Poor American Apparel Peacock was so perverted in its reflection that I was shocked when I saw the swatches on my laptop. Good old Canon made it a deep royal blue (and my hands almost crimson). I had to spend some time photoshopping it back to reality. Butthead, teal is such a beautiful colour!

I know, I know, it's in no way a summer shade, but during the last days we have a gloomy cool weather with no sun, so it kinda feels like autumn here => great chance to open some darker untried shades.

Sorry guys, the swatches are a bit distorted in terms of colour balance but I was struggling to reach as realistic polish shade as possible. The application however was great, again a one-coater polish. I'm totally in love with AA brushes, they are thin and easily controllable.

Some weeks ago I received my dotters purchased on ebay (in order to get them I had to go to our city's airport to the customs service, but this is another funny story) so I couldn't but play around with them : ) Poor Peacock got dotted with CG For Audrey:
