Princess

Finally it's time to proudly demonstrate you one of my craziest lemmings ever - Revlon Princess. Two years after its launch date (and it was a LE! - called Edgy Elegance) I completely lost hope of ever finding it - if it was not for Caroline ;) Now I'm the happy owner!

Revlon Princess

It was love at half site, really. Being a blue foil texture lover, I have a couple of very similar polishes, but this one is an absolute princess - if you allow - among those! The dusty shade of blue makes me think of moonlight, or moon reflected in water, something like that.

Application was a fairytale, it's actually very opaque in 1 coat already, but I think I did 2 just for it to last longer. Of course, I didn't spoil it with any top coats.

Above are the close-ups. Don't know what's the thing between me and blue foils, but I get carried away looking at this one, really!

Holiday Nails

Back. Depressed. After a month in +35 got into +15. People in swimwear changed to people in jackets and coats. Just to cheer up, I'm posting some random pics of my summer manicures. Disregard the quality of application and photos, it was holidays after all :)

Bright turquoise, almost the colour of Cycladic islands waters - Depend #227:

Golden foil China Glaze Midnight Kiss.. I wanted to wear golden nails so much this summer!

Pupa #715, my ever favourite blue:

And two pedicures, although I don't usually post feet pics. Someone was waiting for me in Santorini so much, that he even wrote my initials on the ground :) :)

And this gateway plate... I just liked it :)

One observation: I guess now I know why there are so few nail bloggers from Greece: it's soo hard to paint the nails there in summer. My polishes were freaking out, being goopy, leaving streaks, so did the top and the base coat!! Bubbles everywhere, every time..

And finally, this is the place that totally won my heart... Santorini:

Noites de Verão

Summer nights.. I've seen them from different Earth angles, starting from the north of Siberia, and down to African skies. Gotta go to Argentina still, but the opinion has been formed already - I love them! Considering this, you may imagine how happy I am to own a nail polish called Noites de Verão - Summer Nights that is. Actually, it's called Inocos Dançar, and Noites de Verão is the name of the collection. Besides, the polish itself is quite rare for me, it comes from Portugal - a country with the best summer nights I guess :) Lovely Akuma Kanji sent it to me in a swap, for which I'm so grateful to her! :)

Inocos Dançar

Inocos Dançar

Inocos Dançar is an enchanting dark blue foil with a great formula: opaque in 1 coat already (2 coats on the pictures), perfect application. The colour seems more purplish inside under the artificial dim light, the top coat also added (!) the shade a purple hue.

I'm not sure if it makes sense to post macroshots for a foil texture, but I still did, simply because I love jeans foils, so enjoy :)

Now that I'm in Saint Petersburg, it's "white nights" time.. for me this phenomenon is just as beautiful as a dark starry night somewhere in the south - in a different way of course. And I hope that you enjoy the summer nights (polish and real) as well - wherever you are! :)

Gold on Gold

"In a very timely manner" (I know, I know... : { ) I'm showing you my New Year's Eve manicure. Gold on gold, as you can see yourself. For some reason I have an inner belief that if I wear something gold on the night of 1st January, it will bring more prosperity (read here: money) next year. It has never come true yet, lol, but never say never!

On the photo you see the 7th (!) day of wearing Milani Gold over 2 coats of China Glaze Midnight Kiss. The latter is a cool-toned golden foil, which I basically wear each year around Christmas time. I feel so bad I didn't manage to make nice swatches of it.. it's so worth it! And Milani Gold is a big-sized golden glitter. I believe it should be awarded with "the hardest polish to remove EVER" title : ) It took me 40 minutes to get rid of it - with a foil method!!! But it was so nice and blingy when I was wearing it : )

Hamburg Haul

For years now I've been sure that Germany cannot surprise me anymore in terms of nail polish assortment  I had a firm belief that I saw and fiddled around with each and every brand Germany offers in its shops, or at least knew where to get what. And that from city to city the assortment of polishes doesn't differ much. I was wrong.

Surprise came when I happened to be in Hamburg for a weekend. German girls know that there are no DMs in Hamburg, they have Budnis instead. I've never been to any Budni before, so I decided to peep in and see the difference between DM's and Budni's assortment  First thing I noticed: Debby polishes! I never saw them in Germany before, and even less expected to encounter the Italian polishes in the north of Germany. Moreover, I also detected Bourjous and something called Black Bird. After that, I was passing by a little indie shop and spotted some brand called Miss Cop with really pretty shades! So I grabbed 2 of those + a Debby polish from Budni:

Miss Cop Les Blue Jeans #05, Debby ColorPlay #125, Miss Cop Les Blue Jeans #04

The first polish I'll show is Miss Cop Les Blue Jeans #05, typical 'jeans' shade. That is, a dark blue foil composed of blue and silver shimmer. Formula was a bit thick and not so easy to manage, but opaque in 2 coats already. I confess, I have a crush on jeans shades : )

And then later I mattified it (which I often do with such textures) and I was very happy with the result:

The second polish, Miss Cop Les Blue Jeans #04, just won my heart with the first stroke! It's a baby blue semi-jelly with 'sugar effect' finish - packed with white/silver shimmer. Also not so easy to apply because of its thickness, but for THIS shade I'm ready to forgive whatever difficulties! Amazingly, I don't have anything similar in my stash.

And this is exactly the polish I was featuring in my previous post about Firmoo sunglasses. There you saw it in matte version, in this post I'm showing it as it is, without a top coat even.

The last polish from the Hamburg haul - Debby ColorPlay #125 - is coming up next. In a quite interesting combination. You'll see :)

Now, girls, please tell me if you know anything about this brand, Miss Cop. Is it sold in your country? Do you have any Miss Cop polishes?

Jeansy Nails

Each and every nail polish fanatic has a "jeans denim colour" in her stash, right? : )
I also do, and although the polish is not really "well known" one, but the colour is just fantastic - Debby ColorPlay #188. My polish buying-wearing-swatching-posting becomes really international: I bought this one in Italy, wore it in Russia, and I'm posting it now from cold Germany. Funny : )

As you see, it's a darker blue foil, very pretty and unproblematic in application - it's very opaque and not stripy, 1 or 2 coats on the photos. I think I even didn't use the top coat. My love for foils will never go away, I guess :)
Debby is generally a nice brand in my opinion, and if you pass by Italy, you should pay attention to these little bottles - they have some win shades inside.

The last swatch looks so "not me", and rather Scrangie-style : ) That was not my intention, I just wanted to capture the texture in the poor Russian northern light. Gotta work on my macro-shooting still : )

Prêt Á Porter In Verona

Next post from the series of "Italian polishes&places" : ) Actually I was very glad to hear from you girls that you like such posts.. For those who wanted more - here we go! I started trying out my Italian buys immediately i.e. already in Italy (I also didn't carry any polishes with me from Germany - on purpose, I was sure I'll get a nice haul). The first one to try was Deborah Milano Prêt Á Porter Stardust - I was wearing it in Verona, below you see its landscapes.

The polish by itself is pure delight: it's a blue foil consisting of blue and silver shimmer. Formula (2 coats), application (nice little brushie :) and wear time (6 days without chips or tipwears!!) cause no complaints, but the most delightful part is the colour! Well, I'm a foil lover.. : )

As you see, the photos are done by someone else - this someone else - referring to the issue I raised in one of the latest posts - is a now a new reader of my blog and my personal photographer : )

Nails In Foil

As usual, I'm posting the swatches of a limited edition in a very timely manner, i.e. after a year after its release : ) But that's me, and my blog is a very direct reflection of my personality. Anyway, today 2 pretty foils from Essence Nails In Style LE - a little flashback to the last summer.

The first one here on the pictures is Essence Style Me Love, a very thick and opaque warm purple foil - works per-fect for stamping by the way. One coat (!) on the pictures. Dries fast but chips even faster.

Close-up below. The "foil" actually consists of purple and silver shimmer, you can see the texture very well:

And now onto the second polish, Essence Style For Summernights, which is a tiny bit less interesting - I find. Just because you can find a silver foil everywhere now, and if you missed this LE of Essence you can grab Zoya Trixie or China Glaze Icicle or China Glaze Cheers To You. Or many others. Two easy coats, but my favourite thing is to mattify it. If you have foils, I do advise you to experiment with matte top coats, you'll love the effect :)

So, yay or nay to the foils? I know, the best season for them is winter, but I just can't switch to spring/summer shades. Not yet. What do you think?
