When life happens, somethings have to change, which meant for me that I had to focus on other things than paint. I haven't painted for 2 years. I have tried to get it going a few times, but it wasn't in the cards.
I hope I can get going now, a slow start, but I have to work on balance between control and expression. This is a small starter, back to basics.

There is a lot of trial and error going on right now. It takes time to find the balance between patience and spontaneity, detail and simplicity and finding out what works right now. Depending on mood and where I am at the moment does matter. It can influence what size and subject that works best at that time.

This is a small flower abstraction I did to get going and get a feel about what works and what I feel like.

I have started to paint again .....

To get into it I used some familiar and fun subjects to paint, with focus on having fun and experimenting. This small flower painting isn't a drastic change, but the process was slightly different.

Easter is closing in and with it my Easter Exhibition. Have done a lot of frames to fit my small paintings. Will show some pictures of them soon.

I painted this one a while back and it was a little different from what I did back then. I is kind of moody in a way, with it's limited color pallette, but at the same time very vibrant with it's warm colors.

When a subject is fun and working, I try to take advantage of the situation and go for it. At some point I will get bored, repeating myself or overthinking and get stuck. That is the time to move on.

I had a real fun time this summer with experimenting and playing around with flowers. Still got more to show.

Living up north (Sweden) mean that the days get shorter right now. That mean that there is less time to paint in natural daylight. Artificial light has it's limits. 

I have been thinking about exploring abstract art again, and I am finally continuing my "shapes and movement" series again. Will post those soon.

This is a flower abstraction where I really went outside my comfort zone. Playing with the colors. I started with a colorful pink background and worked with soft muted colors to create and shape the flower.

Playing around with shapes and colors of an flower is fun, trying new things and going outside my comfort zone. This one has the shapes of a flower, but I twisted the colors a little, making it less a flower that can exist. I like the color combination in this one.

I did this one a while back when I explored my  "simplified and graphic flower design" concept. Having an expressive painting style, every painting is a process, a journey. Painting small can take that to an extreme where every brush stroke matter. I really like this one. The painting is both expressive and graphic.
