Saturday was such a beautiful relaxing day. We watched conference all day and just enjoyed being home together. Around 4:00 we were starting to get ready for our evening plans. Scott had priesthood session and I was taking the kids our to dinner with Mom & Cami.
While Scott was in the shower & I was in the bedroom I heard a noise that every mothers dreads. I ran in to find Mack on the bathroom floor screaming hysterically.
I hoisted him up to check out the damage. i saw blood dripped on his shirt and examined his mouth. He had bit his tongue but nothing bad enough to bleed that hard. More blood dripped onto his shirt and then I saw his chin. it had split entirely open and well, you get the picture, it was BAD. He had calmed down and I tried to butterfly it because we still weren't sure if he needed stitches. However when he made a upward movement and to the side and wound made us quickly aware that yes this was REALLY BAD. I ran over to pick up Cami down the street and then back to get Mack. We made it to Urgent Care just before they closed (thank goodness because I did not want to go to the ER)
The staff was ready right away. Mack was laid out on the table and wrapped up like a burrito. He was screaming hysterically and thrashing around. Cami held his legs, I held his arms and torso, the assistant held his head and the Dr of course did the stitching. the numbing injections were the most painful for poor Mack. He was stuck 3 times then received 3 stitches.
Mack was a trooper and even gave the Dr a smile and waved goodbye as we left.
He will keep his stitches on 7 days. ( I think the numbing was bothering him the most afterwards and he wouldn't stop touching the stitches, now the next day he rarely remembers they are there)
We kept with our evening plans. Ammon had picked up Scott & Katelyn, dropped Katelyn off at Grandma Nicoll's and then the 2 of them went to Priesthood.
Cami & I arrived at Mom's shortly after and went to Serrano's for dinner.
Then we hung out and waited for the men to arrive home.
Mack jammed with Grandpa on the drums.
Here is a close up, you can see the 3 stitches.
Then Katelyn wanted to fly with Grandpa, she said she wanted to fly 15 times. After about 8 Grandpa was done flying :)
We came home and got ready for bed. The kids slept soundly and eagerly woke us up this morning to play.
The kids are still sleeping on mattresses awaiting their bunk bed to arrive, I am crossing my fingers for Tuesday at the latest. The dresser shipping was delayed even longer and I am getting pretty tired of living in clothes baskets. it should arrive by next weekend and then I can finally put the kids room back together. I need to get a pic of them tonight sleeping, it's adorable!
Today's conference talks so far has truly been wonderful. Presidents Ukdorf's talk touched me & the message I received personally is to use my blog more to do good and spread my love of the gospel and how it affects my life. so I hope to share more of my life's experiences.
The number one being the family and it's important role, and the fact that it is my number one purpose in life to bring my family closer to our Father in Heaven that we may all live together forever. I truly am so blessed with such a wonderful family which I love with all my heart.
Oh I LOVE holidays seasons and I Love Easter. A time of rebirth of everything around us.
I made this banner yesterday with scraps around the house,
I think it's pretty cute:)
My thumb is turning green and I added several new plants and flowers in the front & back yard
And aren't these butterflies adorable!
Happy Spring!
