Jenny's Selvages

Jenny of the Romany Quilting blog has been creating with her selvages. She knitted a selvage rug, and quilted some place-mats. She and her husband like to travel in a RV. Nice work Jenny!

Dana W. Fisher's Knitted Selvage Quilt!

Dana Warner Fisher of Greensboro, NC is a teacher librarian, a quilt artist, and an occasional actress. She made this knitted selvage quilt in 2006. Using selvages appeals to her artistic and frugal sensibilities. (Audience applauds in agreement here!) Bravo, Dana!

Knitted Selvages!

What to do with those selvages that just don't make it into a selvage quilt? (Maybe they aren't wide enough, or they're just kind of "blah.") Well, use some of those big chunky knitting needles (I used size 17 in the examples above), and start knitting away!

These may end up as a funky rag rug, a conversation piece "throw," a wall-hanging, a scarf, or a floor length coat for the AQS wearables contest! (And maybe not.)
