Chemical overload

Technically re-up month has finished. February having only 28 days this year means that the month has come to an abrupt end. However, here we're going to pretend that 2009 is a leap year as there's a few Chemical People re-ups in this post due to a reader request. This post is curiously dated as being on the
last day of February even though it's now March.

Chemical People - So Sexist, 1988

Chemical People - Ten-fold Hate, 1989

Chemical People - Chemical People, 1992

As you can see as the band became older, they had enough of porn stars on the album covers or more likely couldn't afford them and went with what looks like a kids' coloring book image. I wonder if any of those books ever featured a drunken wolf bathing.

Jeff Dahl - Ultra Under (1991)

Jeff Dahl was at one time frontman for the Angry Samoans. If you don't know that band I suggest you get hip to the lights out way. He has released umpteen solo albums and in 1991 released Ultra Under which featured Dave Nazworthy from the Chemical People on drums and backing vocals and Jamie Pina from that same band on lead guitar on a couple of songs. Donita Sparks from L7 helps out on the song "Dirt". There is piano on this album and the start of "Chemical Eyeballs" is similar to Joe Jackson but Jeff rocks out harder than Joe ever will.

Ultra Under tracklist:

Touchy Touchy Baby
Cherry Bomb
Chemical Eyeballs
Somebody
Just Amazin'
Junkies Deserve To Die
Pretty Blonde Hair
Elks Lodge Riot
You're A Drag
God Don't Care
Mick and Keith Killed Brian
Dirt
Nobody Loved You

Chemical People - Ten Fold Hate (1989)

Here's more Chemical people. This album is more punk oriented than the self-titled. Most of the songs are around a minute and an a half. This album includes an instrumental called Metallica. No points for guessing what it sounds like. Cherry also features some metal type guitar work as does All The Best Things .

The only song I don't really like on this album is Black Throat which is a rap metal ode to porn.

Song list is:

1. New Food
2. Aquaman
3. Old Habits
4. Strange Taste
5. She's Got a Bad Case
6. Ed Intro
7. Cherry
8. Intro
9. All the Best Things
10. Nudist Camp
11. Metallica
12. Cop a Feel
13. Moodchanger
14. Vacation
15. Outrage
16. Black Throat

Chemical People - Chemical People 1992 Cruz Records

Following the Cruz records theme of the Big Drill Car post, here is a Chemical People album. Here the band had stripped to a two piece featuring Dave Naz on drums, vocals, guitar and tenor saxophone with Ed Urlik on bass and guitar. Brett Gurewitz and Jay Bentley from Bad Religion help out with backing vocals as does Kim Shattuck from The Muffs.
For those that don't know Dave Naz is now a porn photographer For the curious minded here's his homepage. Be warned it is an
R-18 site.
The song Never Was from this album can be heard on the Chemical People's myspace site.

Songs are:

1. Never Was
2. When They're Gone
3. Let It Go
4. Two Years
5. Mid Air
6. Following
7. I Don't Mind
8. Won't Do
9. I Gotta Know
10. Drift Away
