Rectangles

Some of my 'mazingly talented friends at AWEH made this wicked video on an iphone while they were travelling around Vietnam last month.  Check it out - seriously - the effects are phenomenal, especially since it was made with such limited equipment.

They recently gave me a sneak peek of some other mini-documentaries they have in the making and they're definitely videos you're going to want to see.

Add them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter too so you can keep updated.

Tokyo

Tokyo was sick.  It's such a rad place, if far too expensive for my Korean budget.  It was worth it though as it's definitely the coolest looking city I've ever been to.  I walked around the city with my jaw open in awe at how functionally well-designed and aesthetically gorgeous everything was, with just the right amount of odd kitsch interjected.

Nicki Minaj

Nicki <3333333333333

All you need in a role model is for them to have pink hair.

P.S, there's Korean words flashing out at me this video.

P.P.S, Jamie Lee Curtis reckons she's just Jay Z slowed down, which if you squint your ears he's sort of right.

NYFW in Instagram

Here are all my favourite New York Fashion Week pictures from Instagram, Twitter and Flipboard.

I love how the internet lets you live vicariously through other people.  While I sit in my pyjamas underwear here in Seoul, eating strawberries and cereal chocolate for breakfast, I get to peruse pictures of what's happening in a more glamorous - albeit highly stressful - world.

From top: Derek Lam's library-themed invitations by @lapresmidi, an OTT blonde bouffant by @luckymagazine, DKNY leather by @cocorocha, graphic goodness at Ohne Titel by @chrissiefuller, butterfly prints at Preen by @elanabrooke24, an Oscar-worthy Packham dress by @eholmeswsj, aquamarine splashes at Giulietta by @meiklie, Betsey Johnson making backstage posters @xoxobetseyjohnson.

Mary Katrantzou x Topshop

I hate being so predictable by missing shopping at Topshop, but I really bloody do.

Especially when they have excellent collaborations like the newest one, with printmaker of the moment; Mary Katrantzou.

Katrantzou - who shies away from the patterns she creates, choosing to wear only a palette of black - is releasing her Topshop SS12 collection on February 17th.  It features prints that, "are intricate and dazzle in paradisical shades" and is inspired by her AW11 mainline range.

I keep trying to be over florals but I always come back to them.  I particularly like this busy sort of style, enhanced by the unexpected clashing of different colours.

Guess I'll have to bust out the gladiola patterns as soon as Spring arrives.

JAPAN

What do you do when you live in South Korea and you're randomly given a three week hiatus from work? Book a trip to Japan, of course.  You know from previous posts like this and this that I've been wanting to go to the island next door for a long time, and in less than two weeks I'll finally be soaking up the crazy culture of Tokyo.  I'm already envisioning myself walking down the infamous Shibuya Crossing, eating dinner in trendy Ebisu, and shopping for cute shit in Harajuku.

Does anyone have any Tokyo tips for me?

(I have tried to link all images to their sources. Click to be redirected).

Scout and Catalogue

Blondies in double exposure shots are a sure fire way to get me interested in your clothes.  Well done Scout and Catalogue, I want to buy everything and be an etherealdreamfairy like this girl.

Thanks to Thank You Ok for the introduction.

M.I.A Exclusive!

I've loved M.I.A ever since some hot Australians played Paper Planes to me on a surfing holiday in Biarritz one summer (good vibez) and now she's baaaaack to receive more of my adoration with her recently released song Bad Girls.

The video is premiering today on Noisey, VICE's new music channel on YouTube and right here:

Cats, Snowboarding

Artec have meshed my newfound love of snowboarding with my old school love of cats to create this immensely pleasing contraption that I need in my life right now.  Just in time for playing here this weekend:

Vietnam

Freaky looking monkeys chained to trees, fish squished together in a tank, epic landscapes, an elephant in an ethnic minority village, a stunning waterfall, and me.

Vietnam has it all.
