Pattern sale

Boring part: Because of the EU VAT, Ravelry fees will go up after June 1st. Hence pattern prices will increase too.
Fun part: Last week of May you can get 2 patterns for the price of 1. You need to put both patterns in your cart to get the discount.

Mystery time is near

Autumn is a good time for mitten knitting. (As you all know, the whole year is a good time for mitten knitting!) And this autumn, you can join a mystery knitalong on Ravelry, in the wonderfully nice and supportive "I make mittens"-group, who have hosted my two previous mystery knitalongs. In July 2013 we made "En gåte på en måte" (A riddle, in a way), and in January 2014 the mystery mittens were inspired by the book "The secret garden". The knitalongs were both great fun, and I hope this one will be as well.

How to join?
When purchasing the pattern, you get details about yarn, sizing etc. Then, on September 1st you'll get the first clue, and over the next weeks, you'll get four more clues. It's not compulsory to join the discussion in the group, but that's at least half of the fun, so I'd go visit if I were you.

This time, the pattern costs 15 nkr, which is appr. 2.50 USD. However, the pattern will be part of a future mitten e-book, and if you buy the e-book later, you will get this sum deducted from the e-book price. Stay tuned for more information on that...

Mystery Shawl in progress

Here's the progress so far. First clue finished:

Someone mentioned on Ravelry
it reminded her of a slice of watermelon.
We happened to have a watermelon in the house,
so I had to make this photo.

Btw - the watermelon is from Brazil,
bought in Lillehammer, Norway
where it costs 10 NOK,  appr 1.50 USD.
How is that possible?

Btw2 - I'm amazed and thankful of all the interest
for the Mystery Mitten KAL in July.
almost a month before the KAL starts.

A riddle, in a way

I have designed the July Mystery mittens  in the "I make mittens" group on Ravelry. - "En gåte på en måte"

Pattern will be free for participants in the Mystery KAL during the month of July 2013. Links for the pattern will be posted in the group on the 1st, the 5th, the 10th, the 15th, the 20th and the 25th of July. Any Ravelry member can join the group. Quite a few have joined already, so I think it will be fun.

Hot right now!

Please forgive my bragging, but for some hours today, my new pattern was top five on Ravelry's "hot right now" list on the pattern page. For a while it was number two!

At the moment, it's number fourteen, not bad either. Here are a couple of photos of the vest, called Blomekrans.
I'll tell you more about the pattern later, just needed to share my excitement.

Fun with Ravelry ads

I have made a Ravelry ad for Group Forum Banners,
you might see it in this group, for example.
Spring is maybe not the best time
to make advertisements for mittens,
but I just wanted to try.

And it was so fun to make these banners,
so I made some more...
They¨re not published yet,
but maybe they will be later.

My corset tank top

I finished my corset tank top this summer - it was a fun knit, easier than I thought it would be, and the result is even better than I hoped. It's definitely a pattern I would recommend to lace newbies, and I might make it again.

I used Brilla from my stash. Didn't think of this pattern at first, but then I searched Ravelry projects that had used Brilla, and I found Marnie's tank. I asked her how much she had used, and saw that I would probably have enough. Isn't Ravelry a great resource? (Later I realised my skeins were not the same lot, and the nuances were quite different. So I bought some multicoloured Brilla, and worked 1-4 rounds og yellow and 1-3 of multicoloured.) I used appr. 6 skeins altogether.

Looks strange when not worn..

Modifications: Worked in the round - partly because the colour changes made that the easiest, partly because I don't like purling, partly because I don't like sewing buttons (all in all - because I'm lazy...)
