The James Dean Story (1957)
Leith Stevens' jazzy score for the James Dean homage. The end title song (Let Me Be Loved), written by the ever-present Livingston and Evans, is crooned by Tommy Sands. The overwrought cover image is by David Stone Martin. Capitol's late mono sound is excellent.

Anastasia (1956)
A classic score from Alfred Newman ripped from the original vinyl issue. This is another one of the Decca scores that were not mastered properly for RIAA playback, which I have corrected. Sorry there is one unavoidable skip in my transfer of the Valse. This has been issued in stereo by Varese on CD, but I have not heard that issue, so I don't know how it compares. The Anastasia theme is very beautiful, but the score also contains much dance and march music that I assume was occasioned by the scenario.
