Miss Sadie Thompson (1953)
This LP does not provide any credits for the soundtrack composer, and in some contemporary sources the credit goes to Morris Stoloff, who is listed as directing the orchestra on the jacket. But the film shows up in George Duning's filmreference.com resume, so let's assume he actually was the one who did the score.
As a practical matter, it doesn't make a whole lot of difference, because you don't hear much of the actual score on this record. What you do hear are a few songs by Lester Lee with lyrics by Ned Washington. The tune about the Marines has words by Allan Roberts. Jo Ann Greer dubbed the vocals for Hayworth. The harmonica player is Leo Diamond

Me and the Colonel (1958)
A terrific George Duning score for this Danny Kaye vehicle. Beautiful sounds from a excellent pressing.

Main Title (Circa 1958)
This is a collection of film themes led by Coral's music directors, Dick Jacobs and George Cates. The Main Title and Molly-O combination from Elmer Bernstein's music for The Main with the Golden Arm was a hit, as was the George Duning's arrangement of Moonglow and his Theme from Picnic. But the LP has many other attractions - Andre Previn's theme from The Catered Affair, Henry Mancini's theme from Congo Crossing, Lionel Newman's music from The Seven Wonders of the World and The Proud Ones, Frank Skinner's theme from Away All Boats, Victor Young's music from the Proud and the Profane, and Herschel Burke Gilbert's music from While the City Sleeps. Finally, although the Nightfall music is credited to someone else on the LP, I believe it is by Duning.

This Is Kim As Jeanne Eagels (1957)
This is one of the more peculiar quasi-soundtracks from the 1950s. It is largely an homage to Kim Novak in the title role of Jeanne Eagels, a 1957 fictionalized biopic of an actress who died young. The record includes a song called This Is Kim by George Duning and theme music by the same composer, along with a selections of standards that are presumably associated with the Eagels/Novak character in the film. All this is presented by Morris Stoloff, his Columbia band, and a cooing chorus. Novak's vocals in the film were dubbed by Gogi Grant, or so I have read, but they are not here - or issued anywhere else that I have found. One final note: this is another late mono record that (despite the jacket claim) was not processed properly for RIAA playback. I have corrected that in this transfer.
