Baby Elephant Loves to Cuddle

What a lucky man to get a surprise cuddle session from a baby elephant! Once he calls Tara the baby elephant over, she runs right over and practically jumps on him to get her cuddle on. How sweet!

The elephants at Patara Elephant Farm in Thailand are all rescued from bad conditions or born there to help preserve the endangered elephant population and keep them from extinction. From the quick look I did at the website, it seems like a very nice place and the elephants certainly appear to be happy. Just look at how sweet little Tara is here!

After watching this video, I've just added another thing to my bucket list: Cuddling with a baby elephant.

Happiest Baby Elephant Plays in the Ocean

Kids are kids, no matter what the species. And there's no greater and simpler joy than frolicking around in the water.

This adorable baby elephant playing in the ocean will put a smile on your face and warm your heart. Just pure happiness!

I did a little research after seeing the "Most Happiest Elephant in the World" video making the rounds on Facebook because I wanted to know the story and find the original. This is the original, I think. It was posted back in 2011. The elephant was filmed in Phuket, Thailand. The video says it was before participating in a wedding ceremony, but I don't know if the elephant was part of it or the person. Apparently, it is common to see things like this in some countries!

Elephant and Dog Are Best Friends Who Love Playing in the Water!

Bubbles and Bella are the best of friends, and their favorite thing to do is splish-splash and play in the water together! Bella climbs on top of Bubbles and just launches herself off like a diving board. Tons of fun!

Bubbles was taken in by Myrtle Beach Safari after her parents were killed by ivory poachers. She was lucky and survived, and even luckier to have gotten to become friends with Bella!

Bella was abandoned on the property as a puppy by the contractor who they hired to build Bubbles a big pool. It must have been fate that they both love the water so much! Now they're just about inseparable.

Baby Elephant Playing

Lily the baby elephant is like a big kitten! Running and jumping and playing and rolling over... Yup, she's basically a kitten!

Except that she weighs 565 pounds already. And has the most adorable little baby elephant trunk!

Baby Elephant's First Mud Bath

At only one month old, this bouncing bundle of baby elephant joy is already 251 pounds -- just the right size for splish-splashing in mud puddles and having the time of her life!

She and her mom, Christie, live at the Hogle Zoo in Utah, and this is her first mud bath.

Some fun elephant facts: Baby has a lot of growing to do... her mom weighs 7,900 pounds! Also, she carried her for an incredible 22 months. That's a long time! I guess something this cute is worth the wait!

Two Cats Monday: Halloween Costumes and Happy Birthday to Moo!

Today is a big day around here. It's Halloween (the boys can't wait to show you their costumes!) and it's also Moo's birthday! What a great way to start the week!

Pimp and Moo's Halloween costumes this year are probably the most adorable ones I've ever gotten them. They are deluxe and a little wild. What do you say we go on a little safari...

Oh hai! Elephant Moo here. I have a TRUNK!

Moo is an elephant! The costume is really so ridiculous. He has giant ears, a trunk and tusks. Moo had to be the elephant because there was no way Pimp was going to handle all that stuff on his head.

RAWR! I am a fierce tiger. Can't you tell? Rawr, I say. Rawr!

Not very intimidating, is he? That tiger costume makes him look like an adorable stuffed animal and I just wanted to hug him the whole time he had it on. Don't you just want to snuggle him?

Whoa! It's like a jungle on our couch! Tigers and elephants and kitties, oh my! (Moo thinks Pimp looks ridiculous.)

We are kind of flat, but that's only because we have these ridiculous costumes on. But don't worry, we got yummy treats right after!

And now on to Moo's birthday! I figured enough was enough already with the Halloween costumes, so I didn't make him wear a birthday hat, but he is getting lots of extra love and smooches today!

Baby Elephant Just Wants to Play

Kid elephants are just like human kids -- they just want to play! And if they don't have a brother or sister around, well, they have to find someone to play with. Right?

This goofy little elephant at Zoo Berlin (OK, he's not really so little) is ready for some fun, and mom looks like she'd be the perfect playmate! Except she's not really having it...

Between 3D, HD and surround sound, it can be easy to get wrapped up in what's on television and feel like you're actually there. Probably even more so for animals, you think?

It's OK, little bully... Sometimes I talk to the TV, too.

Baby Elephants in a Pool

Baylor and Tupelo the baby elephants are just like two regular kids -- they love to splash around in the pool!

Tupelo is the smaller baby elephant who can't seem to find a good spot to soak in at first. He gets out, thinks about it, then plop! Just kind of side flops back in. That's my favorite part, I think.

Don't they just look like they're having so much fun?

Luk Chai the baby elephant (he lives at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney) doesn't need a rubber duckie to make bath time lots of fun -- it's fun just to splash around and look cute. Wait for it while you're watching... it gets even cuter when they start spraying him down with the hose!

Meet Ko Raya, a 5-day-old baby elephant at the Berlin Zoo.

According the the L.A. Times, she made her little public debut today, looking ever so cute (all 370 pounds of her!). Such a cute, cute thing! Makes me want to go to the zoo...

Best Friends: A Dog and an Elephant

When retired elephants end up in this sanctuary in Tennessee, they always end up picking out a special friend to hang out with. Most pick another elephant, but not Tarra... Tarra's best friend is Bella, a dog.

The two have stuck together for years now, the sanctuary founder says. They play together, eat together, drink together -- Bella the dog even lets Tarra pet her tummy... with her giant elephant foot!

Through good and tough times, these two stick by each other's side. You'll love the story!

We all know I love animals, but I absolutely lerrrrve baby animals. (Lerve: To delight in another's existence beyond what can be expressed with a mundane word like love.)

Little Girl Tells the CUTEST Fairy Tale

In French... with subtitles!

No really, I think that makes it even cuter, because of her little voice and the way she says the words. So much expression, so much enthusiasm, so much imagination.

It's a dramatic tales of hippos, monkey, witches and popotamuses (What is that?! No matter; I'm sure they're precious.) I love her and this is another example of how cute I imagine my future-child will be (Here's the other example.)

And as my sister said, I wish she could tell me stories every night before I go to sleep...

Annual Blessing of the Animals at St. John's

How cute would this have been to go to? Every year, St. John's the Divine in New York has a service for the "blessing of the animals." Apparently other churches do this also, but the kicker with this one is that any animal is welcome...

When I saw it on the news, there was even an elephant in the audience! But mostly the pews were full of paws (I know, I know). Anyway, here's a video I found on YouTube of it:
