Ethical Authorship
We expect that all authors will adhere to the guidelines below:
Any research being reported should have been conducted in an ethical and responsible manner and should comply with all relevant legislation.
Articles should be presented clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification or inappropriate data manipulation.
Authors should adhere to publication requirements that submitted work is original, is not plagiarised, and has not been published elsewhere.
Authors should take collective responsibility for submitted and published work.

Instructions for Authors
Submission of an article implies its publication is approved by all authors.
Authors should submit the manuscript as a Word document, following the guidelines outlined below.
On receipt of the manuscript, authors will receive an email acknowledgement and the manuscript will enter the review process.
General
The text should be clear, concise and use grammatical English. Arguments should be substantiated with well-reasoned supportive evidence. Citations to relevant published work are essential.
The Manuscript
The manuscript should include:
1. Cover page
The cover page should include:
- Title.
- List of authors and their affiliations.
- Number of words in the manuscript.
- Name of the corresponding author: please give complete postal and email addresses, and telephone number.
2. Abstract or summary and keywords
Articles must include an abstract, indented and italicised. This should not be more than 200-250 words, and summarise succinctly the important points made in the manuscript. It should stand alone and not contain references or notes. It should be followed by no more than 5 italicised, meaningful, non-repetitive keywords, taken from the text. For example:
Keywords: activism, critical education, transformation, emancipation, class
3. Quotes
Quotes of 40 words or more must be in Times New Roman 12 indented.
4. Notes
Notes should be formatted as ENDNOTES (not footnotes) and numbered as 1, 2, 3 (not i, ii, iii)
5. Reference List
Place the reference list immediately following the manuscript text (on a separate page). The author is responsible for the accuracy of the references. References must use THE HARVARD SYSTEM (not SPA or Chicago). Only include texts cited within the article.
6. Authors’ bios
Authors’ bios should appear at the end of the article, after the reference list.

N.B. Details of margins, font and spacing are given below in the ‘formatting’ section.
Formatting
The manuscript MUST be:
- Normal margin, Portrait orientation, A4 size
- Left aligned
- Spacing: Before – 0 pt, After – 0, Line spacing – 1.5
- Font: Main body – Times New Roman 14, Headings – Bold, Times New Roman 14 (not underlined), Subheadings – Times New Roman 14, underlined
- Quotations (40 words or more): Left indent 1.27, Line Spacing 1.5, Times New Roman 12
