Cielo Sportif @ Hutte

A very stylish custom Cielo (by Chris King) Sportif road bike in the workshop of the ever fabulous Hutte 8to8 last weekend...

A well thought out build with a Sram drive, Velo Orange Grand Cru brakes, Chris King headset, Sim Works stem and a rather nice Swift Industries bar bag...

King hubs laced to Mavics rolling on the fantastic Fairweather "For Cruise" tyres...

Brooks Cambium atop of a Sim Works post...

One very elegant bike. Follow Hutte on Instagram and Twitter to see more of their custom work.

Circles Personal Bike Show, Nagoya

Last Wednesday we hooked up with F-i-N and took the train out to Nagoya to visit the mighty Circles store and check out the Personal Bike Show. The premise of the show being builders and bicycle industry movers and shakers would be showing off their everyday, personal bikes. With such industry royalty as Chris King, Curtis Inglis, Jeremy Sycip, Rick HunterMike Desalvo and John Prolly in town for the Gourmet Century Ride it promised to be an amazing show. And amazing it certainly was...

We arrived early afternoon and the designated bicycle parking was already filling up with some stunning bikes...

Inside the Circles workshop had been converted into a show space for the day...

With food and drinks supplied by Earlybirds and damn fine coffee from Mitts Coffee Stand...

OK, the bikes. First up Rick Hunter's Hunter Cycles "All Road Disc"...

Local Nagoya builder Dobbat's had three bikes quietly displayed to the side of the room. With all due respect to the other bikes and builders, these bikes stole the show...

The details on the little commuter are already causing quite a stir elsewhere...

And his classic looking "Succeed Fillet Road" bike has lots of hidden charms when you get up close...

Another local builder Shin Custom Cycles had a beautiful classic looking road bike on display, unfortunately due to the confined space and the crowds this was the best shot we got of it. You can see more of Shinya's work over on his Instagram page...

Curtis Inglis had his gorgeous Retrotec on display...

With those trademark curves...

Jeremy Sycip showed off his seriously nice Sycip cross bike...

John Watson had brought along his stunning custom Firefly...

Mike Desalvo's elegant titanium all road bike has some lovely features that these photos don't really do justice to, check out some much better pics of this bike here...

Upstairs in the Circles store there were more beautiful bikes on display including a rather special paint job on another Desalvo frame...

And the Cielo bikes belonging to the Chris King crew...

As the day turned into night more and more cool bikes were showing up outside...

A fantastic day. A huge thank you to all the Circles crew, the builders, the Nagoya locals, the Movement boys, the Hutte guys, Bradley and Kenji for making it such a special day and giving us such a warm welcome to Nagoya.

And, of course a big thank you to Mr F-i-N. Be sure to check out all the superb coverage from Nagoya over on The Radavist.
