Spectacular Entertainment On The Cruise

FREE ENTERTAINMENT IN THE EVENING...

When we boarded the ship, we can download their cruise apps in our phone so that we know what the programs and activities lie for each day, from early morning till early dawn.  They have fun for the kids, young adults and seniors like me.  I love going for Guessing Games about songs in the 70s, 80s.. and of course dancing too!  But this time round, I did not do any disco dancing.... LOL....

The entertainment performance normally starts at 7.30pm onwards... so far, we went for two live performances.  One is ice skating which my small grandson even love to watch!  He was mesmerized by talented ice skaters and the music.... and sat through the half hour without making a single noise.  He must be very bewildered.....

The ice skaters doing their stint....
We went for the Vegas live too...
He did not make noise...
But I did... the music was just too loud for me!
We love walking around....
And relaxing at the sidewalk having our tea and desserts....
And doing our own crazy stints...
That is me!

4 Tips To Throwing Soccer Watch Party

Photo by Vick Bufano on Unsplash

It's soccer season, and for most of us, that means watching the premier league unfold. While it's great to enjoy the game on your own or in a bar, there is nothing like getting together with a few friends and watching the game in the comfort of your home own. So, why not make it a celebration, and throw a watch party.

A watch party gathers people at one place to view an event such as a sports match or a movie together in real-time. Watch parties can also be virtual when friends and family connect online using video chat software such as Zoom or Google Hangouts.

It can be a great way to share good food, drinks and keep up to date with sports news (https://sportnews.in/) while enjoying the game with your close friends and family. So, if you're thinking about throwing a watch party, here are a few tips that can help you get started:

Get Snacks

Food is one of the best parts of a watch party. Since it's a social event, there should be a lot of different types of foods that should be served. For example, some parties offer finger foods, while others might make hot foods like chicken wings or even order a pizza or take out. Of course, it all depends on the type of food you want at your party, and how many people will attend.

And if you're a good cook, there are a lot of different recipes online that would be great for your party if you're interested in trying them out.

Drinks

There are a lot of great drinks available that you could have on your watch party list, but it's important to remember to have a variety. Not everyone will want alcohol, and some may even have to drive home after the party is finished. So having soft drinks, alcohol, and water, and hot drinks could be an excellent option for your watch party

Decorations

For a watch party, you don't have to go all out with decorations. You can keep it simple and still get what you need. Of course, you can decorate your home in the colors of your favorite team. Or in the colors of the two teams that are going head to head for that match. This could make your party more fun if you have friends cheering for the opposing team and bringing a little liveliness to your event.

Watch Party Games

What is a great party without party games? There are so many different types of party games that you can have at your event. Whether it's drinking games, betting games, or even little dares, a party game can put an extra layer of investment in the match you are watching and make you want to cheer even louder for your team.

In addition to this, while you're waiting for the match to begin, you can play trivia games to see who amongst you and your friends and family are the real sports fans. A whole host of other party games can be modified to make the laughs keep going at your watch party.

So, if you're throwing a party this season, these tips should get you started.

My New Hobby With Wesing App

LET'S SING!

With this MCO, CMCO and now RMCO, by now I am used to staying at home, it is more tedious to go out.  So much precautions to take, masks, sanitizer, queues, and SOP to follow.  However, I must applaud these safety precautions, only that I have to adjust to these procedures from now on.  It is a good thing... yeah....

Oh, I have digress.... I wanted to post on my favourite hobby, singing!  Yes, at my age, I still like to sing but I have to admit the stamina is not as good as decades ago.  But still.... I carry on singing and listening to myself sing... at home!  I got to know a singing app through a friend who posted up her singing in Facebook.  It is called wesing.... and I downloaded it to my iPad recently.

Once downloaded the app, I can choose my own songs, sing it and then if it is "pass-able" I post it up to the app and allows other "singers" to listen.  LOL.... I find it interesting!  At first, I just sang through the iPad mic.... but actually it is better to use earphone with a mic.  And after a few sessions, I purchased it online and it arrived yesterday.
Came in the black pouch....
And quickly I tried it on and sang my heart out yesterday....
A few songs actually....
True enough, it is easier to sing through the small mic than using the one on the iPad....
I can hear the music clearer and with nice echo too!!
Here is one song I sang without the earpiece....
It is a duet with a Filipino guy... his voice is fantastic!
Don't laugh, OK!

I Watched Titoudao, Inspired By The True Story Of A Wayang Star

NOT IN NEFLIX... unfortunately... this 13 episodes drama series is from Singapore but filmed in Tronoh, Perak.  Recommended by my my son's mother-in-law, she said I must watch this drama, "you will like it"... and I really did!  LOL...

Titoudao is a true life story about a poor kampung girl making it big to becoming a wayang star.  The first five minutes of episode one had me glued to the series till the end.  The main actress is from Kuala Lumpur and the whole drama was in English though it was dubbed in Mandarin as well.

I watched the first few episodes on my laptop, not comfortable because of the small screen and poor colour lightings.  However, getting to the bigger screen on TV, I had a hard time using the remote control to get to the website.  Sweat!  Yeah, I know laptop can connect to the TV but a big hassle for me, still not so tech-smart about that.  Anyway, once I was in, I watched non-stop till the end of the series in one day.  Crazy me!

Synosis from mewatch.sg (where I watched this Titoudao)

From a poor kampong girl to a shining wayang star, “Titoudao: Inspired By A True Wayang Star” is a series that follows the turbulent and colourful story of a real-life wayang star, Madam Oon Ah Chiam. A celebrated wayang performer who has to take on multiple hardships and challenges in life in order to realize her dreams and find her place in the world. This epic biography also parallels pivotal events in Singapore’s history to showcase how our lives have been transformed over the course of over 50 years. Taking on ever-changing roles in her life, Ah Chiam was brought up in a harsh environment and comes from a poor family of 12 children. Born during the Japanese invasion, her father has always suspected Chiam to be the product of a Japanese soldier’s rape and despised her for that. Having to deal with a mean-spirited father who constantly finds ways to abandon her, Ah Chiam had to prove her worth at a young age in order to convince her father to keep her in the family. After working multiple jobs prove insufficient to earn her stay, Ah Chiam made the ultimate sacrifice of joining the famous Sin Sai Hong wayang troupe along with her sister, Ah Dui.

How I Entertain Myself On Coronavirus MCO Days

NETFLIX ROCKS!!
I dare not think how my time could pass if I do not have Netflix to keep me occupied during this house confinement against the Coronavirus thingy.  I was introduced to Netflix movies last year when I went visiting my son in Aberdeen.  Ever since then, I was kind of glued to the movies/drama series whenever there is an opportunity to watch.  When I returned to Malaysia, I bid Astro farewell and replaced it with Netflix instead.  So much cheaper but the only thing is that the Internet/Wifi must be strong.  If there is no Wifi, then there would no movies to watch....

The best thing with the Netflix programs is that there are English subtitles or Mandarin, depending on our own settings.  I can watch Korean, Thai, Spanish, France and understand what they are saying... LOL... that is the best part.  But most times, I watch American shows... be it comedy, horror, romantic, thriller, action packed, I am all for them!  See why Netflix is worth subscribing to me?  Oh, by the way, this is not a sponsored post promoting this network.  Just sharing how I pass time and diverting from food posts once awhile.... LOL.....

At the moment I am addicted to Gossip Girl which has 6 seasons...
An old series actually.. from 2007 to 2012...
Family kind of show but filthy rich ones...
So lots of fashion and beauties to watch besides the cool guys!
I particularly like to watch this couple....
Lily and Rufus (movie screen roles)
Yes, more of "auntie" and "uncle" age....
But they are fun to watch!

Just started on this series too... Gilmore Girls also filmed in 2008...
but there is a revival in 2017.... and now showing on Netflix!
So... this is how I spend my days at home...
....confining to the TV Box day in and day out!
How about you all... besides cooking and cooking?

Caring And Sharing At Limestone, Regal Lodge, Ipoh

IMPROMPTU GATHERING.... Nothing was planned beforehand, it was only at the last minute that we received call to have lunch at Limestone Cafe, inside Regal Lodge.  It was my first time there to have set lunch.  The menu prices were reasonable, around RM15.90 for the main dish, RM3 for a bowl of soup and RM2 for ice cream.  Other than that, coffee, tea and soft drinks are free.

We were there not so much for the food but for the ambiance... we practically had the whole cafe to ourselves during that lunch hour.  Only one or two tables were occupied and we spent more than two hours there since it was a Friday long hour lunch for my working colleagues.  After a few months absence from me, it was wonderful to catch up with my ex-colleagues again!

I was super hungry by lunch time and I felt like eating almost anything in the menu. We ended up ordering one main dish each and then sharing them with one another so that we could taste a bit of this and that.....

I felt like eating Aglio Olio..
We ordered two of these....
Other than that... there were also... Grilled Chicken Chop...
Hawaiian Chicken Chop....
I like this presentation...
Nicely piled up...
Another Hawaiian dish ordered....
Pizza for everyone....
Caring is Not only Sharing...
Caring is also having fun and enlightening our lives with one another....
We must do this more often...
Don't leave space in our hearts to hold grudges...
Just stay Humble and Be Happy!!

Amazing DIY Home Bar: 8 Hacks and Ideas, No Matter the Budget

As the quality of life in the US steadily improves, cocktails are becoming more popular. Moreover, home bars are making a comeback, which is a move driven by the rise in liquor delivery.

Even if you are not affluent enough to have the luxury of a home bar, you could dedicate some space in your house or apartment for entertaining guests, or mixing a drink whenever you want. In this article, we look at ingenious home bar hacks and ideas irrespective of your budget.

Turn Your Old Barrel into a Liquor Spot

Turning an old barrel into the ideal home bar spot can be daunting, but you will get the kicks out of the project. Moreover, you can make it a group project where you invite your friends or family to help you out.

There are several ways that you can turn the barrel into a liquor spot. For starters, you could split it in half, or leave it whole. Make doors into the sides of the barrel and add shelves to hold the liquor.

A whole barrel might be better suited to the patio area where you have ample space. All you need is to give the barrel a coat of polish, add a few details, such as LED lights, and you are good to go.

Turn an Old Suitcase into a Home Bar Cart

The chances are that you might have a suitcase that you cannot seem to part ways. Instead of it taking up space in your closet, you could turn it into a small bar cart. Without a doubt, it will be a conversation starter.

As you mix drinks for your friends or date, you can tell the stories of where you have taken the suitcase, the people you met, and other memories.

Turning Your Old TV into A Bar

One of the best ways to repurpose an old TV is by turning it into a centerpiece for your home bar. It will look exciting, creative, and charming. Moreover, it will add a vintage flair to your home bar.

Turn a Bookshelf into a Bar

With the rising popularity of e-books and podcasts, more people are finding it challenging to lounge with a book in their hands. For this reason, there are many millions of bookshelves that have gone unused in over a decade.

Did you know that you could turn your old bookshelf into a home bar. Start with a fresh coat of varnish and add glass doors for a new look. You could prop it against a wall, or leave it free-standing in your dedicated home bar area.

Turn an Old Grand Piano into a Home Bar

Hands down, this is one of the best DIY projects you will ever do. It not only brings back style into your home, but it also adds a touch of sophistication. You can get old and run down grand pianos on the internet at throwaway prices, but be sure that you have the space to accommodate it.

Start by removing the strings at the top of the piano to make room for the liquor, and then give it a fresh coat of wood polish. This will restore the piano to its former glory, but you could also sand it down for a retro and rustic look.

Turn an Old Crib into a Home Bar Cart

Most people tend to give away their children’s accessories, such as car seats and cribs when they are done with having more kids. However, you could make better use of the accessories by repurposing them. For instance, you could turn your child’s crib into a home bar cart.

The chances are that your guests will not be expecting you to serve drinks from a crib. While it might be borderline weird in the beginning, it will catch on. It could be a perfect trick or treat moment for your Halloween party.

Turn a Dresser into a Bar

Are you a liquor connoisseur with a big collection of spirits at home? You could turn a dresser into a home bar, especially if you do not have much space to implement other ideas on this list. If you do not have one lying around, shop around garage sales for a dresser that complements your décor.

All it takes is a fresh coat of paint and varnish for a glossy finish. You could also add your favorite drinking quote, LED lights, and stickers from your favorite brands on it.

Turn a Storage Cabinet into a Bar Cabinet

This might sound like a crazy idea since most storage cabinets look bland. You could consider replacing the steel or wooden doors with glass ones, change the shelves and add several LED lights. Moreover, you could add vintage glasses for a better presentation and put up several cocktail recipes on the board.

Conclusion

There are days when all you need is a quiet evening sipping on your favorite cocktail, especially after a long day. Fortunately, there are tons of ideas on how you can turn ordinary items in and around your home into a bar.

Try these ideas and send us a picture of how it turns out on our social media pages. You could also read on how liquor glassware can be arranged to occupy corner shelves to allow you easy access to your favorite bottle.

How to Enjoy More SoundCloud Plays

When you hear elderly folk say stuff like “how times have changed” we may not really understand where they are coming from. Times have really changed and you better believe it.

Who would have thought that a time will come when a person will become a worldwide star from the comfort of his/her living room? No hectic tours, massive media campaigns and other PR stunts meant to constantly put the person in the faces of the people.
This has however happened a number of times and we have these now-stars in our midst to confirm it. Examples include Justin Bieber, Tori Kelly, Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara, James Bay, Austin Mahone and many others some of whom you can read about here. With these shining examples, more independent artists are now hoping to achieve this same kind of rise to stardom.
With a lot of people now trying this route to fame, competition has increased, meaning that you now must make special effort to ensure you stand out. There are a number of platforms on which musicians share their work in a bid to gain recognition. The one we will be focusing on today is SoundCloud.

What Does SoundCloud Have to Offer?

SoundCloud is an audio streaming site where music and podcasts can be listened to for free. It was founded in 2007 and now has more than 270 million users out of which about 76 million are regular monthly users. Its services reach more than 320 million listeners globally every month as they listen to the over 170 million audio uploads that the site hosts.
From the above, you can see that there is a huge opportunity here for musicians. There is a ready audience to which you can sell your skills. Add to this the recent announcement of a licensing deal reached with both Warner Brothers and Universal Music and the platform becomes even more attractive as its listener base is now sure to tremendously increase.
There’s however something you need to consider. On a platform like this, you need to have loads of followers and get a large number of plays to ensure you stand out. With over 170 million different songs and podcasts available for listening and some for downloading, how can a newbie get song plays?
This is exactly what we will be examining in this next section.

How to Get More Plays

We already stated above that you need to have a high number of plays and followers to be able to stand out from the crowd on this platform. With the increase in the competition for the attention of the various users, you must be smart and strategic in the way you go about growing your plays.
Here are a few ways to go about it.

Make Sure Your Profile is Top Notch

Your profile is what will either attract people to your page or repel them. You need a description and profile image that will be sure to attract people to come see what you have on offer.

The Quality of Your Song

There’s no point making any effort at all if what you are offering is sub-standard. Your song must be such that people will love to listen to. When you eventually get them to listen to it, you want them to be blown away and be excited enough to share it with very positive comments.

Your Song Description and Art Design

This is part of what we were referring to above when we said “when you eventually get them to listen to it.” Getting visitors to listen to your song is critical. No matter how great the song is, if no one has listened to it, everything it has to offer will be hidden.
Get a magnetic description as well as an art work that practically draws people in to come listen to your work.

Song Tags

Tag your songs properly to ensure that your song is seen by your crowd. Tags simply help bring songs to their exact crowd. For example, if you are a jazz musician, your song should have tags that include jazz so it can be recommended to jazz lovers.

Increase Interactive Activities on the Platform

After uploading your song on the platform, take some time to search for songs in the same genre as yours. Listen to these songs and comment on them. As you interact with others, you will find that they will feel obligated to repay the effort. In so doing, you can actually get some plays and followers.

Pay for Plays

If you are wondering how to buy SoundCloud plays it’s very simple. All you need to do is find a reputable service that will organize natural plays for you. We are not talking about bots but actual plays. You decide how many plays you want, you pay for it and you get what you pay for. It’s probably the easiest way to get plays.

Conclusion

Increasing your plays on SoundCloud requires a combination of efforts and not just a single approach. We have listed a couple of ways through which you can grow your plays on this platform. Take a holistic approach, buy plays and also go for organic play growth. A combination of these two approaches will yield a faster result.

My Memorable Time With Celine Dion In Las Vegas!

MAIN ATTRACTION IN LAS VEGAS ....

For the past few years I have been planning to watch Celine Dion live concert in Las Vegas but the timing was not right.  The dates we planned did not coincide with her performances... either that or we reached a bit too late or she did not have live performances on the week we arrived and one time, her tickets were all sold out by the time we decided.  However, this year I am so-very Happy that I finally "caught" her!  Thanks to my sister who made the reservation way back in advance... planned our trip... made all the bookings to the hotel and tickets online.... and so on.  Tickets are normally sold online, the cheapest one cost around $180 onwards... yes, we bought the cheapest ones... right at the back but we don't mind.  This is a once-a-lifetime event to me!!

The concert was held in Caesar's Palace at 7.30pm.  We started out early at 6.30pm, parked our car at a nearby hotel and walked a bit.  So glad we finally make it this time... It was Celine's last concert in Las Vegas for that week, after which she will leave Las Vegas as we were told that she has been performing for the last 16 years!
In front of Caesar's Palace...
Finally we are here...
Yes, I am very excited...
The next concert I want to watch is Donny and Marie Osmond!
While waiting to enter the concert hall....
We have to queue up to take this picture!
The Auditorium....
Yes, we were right on top.... on my goodness!!
Doesn't matter... as long as I am here!
At exactly 7.30pm, Celine Dion came on stage...
The excitement begins with her first song
I'M ALIVE...
And ended with her Titanic song...
"MY HEART WILL GO ON"....
One of my most memorable nights I ever had in my life!

Circus Acts to Hire

There are popular circus acts that have withstood the test of time. Since your grandparents are young, they might be familiar with some of the shows whenever a show comes in town. Up until today, even with the rise of modern technology and the internet, circus acts are still thriving.
Many people can’t simply resist the magic and charm that the circus can give them. The term came from the word cirque which means circle.
If you want to know the popular circus acts, here are some of them:

1. Sideshows
This often features people who have unusual appearances. You might have heard of visiting mermaids that came from unheard of islands. There are dwarves and giants that you can often see on sideshows. In the past, the sideshows often showcase people with disabilities and oddities, you might not see them often today. The performers are now trying to give a message of acceptance as well as entertainment. Today, many people are more entertained than getting amazed with sideshows.

2. Animal Stunts
You can see lions and tigers jumping on fires, elephants riding cycles, and many other animals that do tricks in the circus. In the past, these animals were said to be abused by the trainers. Fortunately, today, there are a lot of them that know how to treat the animals in good condition. There are also known laws and measures that can protect animals from accidents and abuse. When it comes to animal stunts, the equestrian stunts are an exciting example since riders perform various body tricks while riding a horse.

3. Acrobatics
A circus is not complete without acrobat performers. These people aim to amaze their audience by performing dangerous tricks. There are people who excel in tumbling and gymnastics that can make the show worthwhile. The acrobatics can be composed of a couple of performers or a single performer. Some of them used horses as props in the past. They often perform somersaults while riding the horse. You might still see this classic act in some shows today such as the one with Circus Uncertainty. You can visit the right site for more details about the current acts that are available.

4. Clowns
You might not call the show a circus if there are no clowns on it. Although clowns may be creepy for some people due to a lot of deaths and issues surrounding it, they still exist in order to entertain a lot of audiences in the centuries. They make the people laugh by bumping into each other, performing various acrobats, and speaking in funny dialogues. The silly performances are still their trademarks even if years have already passed.

5. Elephant Acts
Because of too many animal rights and abuse with regards to elephants, many circus shows decide to retire the exotic creatures. However, in some of the shows who were able to pass the strict standards of the animal welfare act, you might still be lucky to find an elephant who can pick up coins through its trunks. Living with elephants can put trainers at risk though. There are still accidents and injuries that can happen because elephants can simply be too big to handle.

6. Juggling
Some people frequently associate juggling with clowns. But this is not the case for all. There are some circus performers who can amaze the audience with their abilities to juggle without getting into clown costumes. For more information about juggles, please visit this site here: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/juggle. There are performers who can initially juggle four balls or pins in the air, and they can add two or three more. This can make the audience getting excited and restless. Others put danger into the show by juggling knives or darts.
These are just some of the circus acts that still exist even if centuries have already passed. Just expect that there are a lot of differences between the shows in the past and the circus acts of the present. If you are looking for some entertainment that is unmatched, you can get off from your computer screen for a day or two and watch an actual circus performance.
The shows have withstood the test of time because they are truly unique and entertaining. Even if you spend just an hour in watching a circus performance, you will be assured that you will never regret it. Grab tickets today and see for yourself why these classic shows are still being performed by circuses today.
