Timing must be off!!

I have been thinking about this post for months but every time I sit down to do it everything I have been feeling and wanting to express leaves my pea sized brain. I guess I need to start taking notes throughout my day. That would keep my thoughts straight and I could finally get caught up and feel accomplished for a day!:)

What's a girl to do?...

Thats the big question of the month! What do I do to get my studying in to pass my BIG test!? I have 4 children and a husband that need me and I am struggling to say the least! I am not studying like I should be or NEED to be. I am getting discouraged about the whole thing! I still know it is what I want and what I am supposed to do but holy cow! It's so hard when I don't have a class to attend and a teacher telling me what to have studied by the end of each week. Here is to pushing forward...

WTH...

We had a good thanksgiving and feel very blessed for SO MANY THINGS in our lives. We spent some time with both sides and feel truly grateful to have family to be crazy and fun with. We can look past each others flaws so we can enjoy our time together!:) Thanks to all who have helped us with all our health issues. IN AND OUT OF TOWN;(
Thanksgiving wasn't quite what we had planned but we were dealt our hand and we went with it, there was no other choice!
To start I took the kids in the Monday before Thanksgiving and Tuesday Gavin got sick and was throwing up. I told Ryan if he was still sick Wednesday we would not make it to Logan for Thanksgiving. I was not about to travel with a sick child! Not fun!! Well he woke Wednesday feeling great so we finished packing and took off. Gavin got sick 20 minutes away from grandmas house. He, Ry and I spent all night up trying to get him comfortable from his abdominal pain. It was terrible!!! Thanksgiving day was good until after dinner. Ryan got a BAD cold that is still hanging around now and Gavin got so bad we took him to the E.R. We did ultra sounds, x-rays and started an I.V. He was able to sleep due to the drugs they gave him to take the pain away. It was nice to finally see him not hurting. We left with the diagnosis of mesenteric adenitis(viral-swollen lymph glands in the intestine)
Friday seemed better until the afternoon when it all hit again and all night too. We took him back Saturday to the E.R. again half expecting to end up in SLC at Primary Childrens. He got a contrast I.V. for a CT and that didn't give any more answers. This doc said he would re diagnose Gavin with the M.A. and sever constipation. So miralax and a week later he is still not back to himself. He has gone to school and comes home fine somedays and other days he comes home with a cramping abdomen. We took him in Friday night to our Ped's office and came home to do an enema. Gav would rather have an enema than an I.V. I am so sad he even knows the difference. That gave some relief but not what I was hoping. It seems worse in the evening. We are doing our best to get him past this.
In the meantime, last night we were excited to go out to Bobi's and spend the night and watch movies and hang out, but I was not settled with this even with how long we have been trying to get together.  I finally told Ryan after 45 minutes of fighting the promptings that we can't go. It sucked telling her that bc I know they were all excited as were we. As soon as I listened and made the choice to stay home I felt an overwhelming peace and finally felt settled again. I am thankful that my Heavenly Father allowed me to be so in tune with the spirit last night...Well soon after Gav started up again and Hayden came down with a fever of what we thought was 103.9 which made us take him in (7:45)because 30 minutes before that it was 103.0 so it was climbing and fast. When I got him to the Redi-Care his temp had hit 105.8!!! He was loopy and not very with it. I had given him meds @5:30 bc he was hot and he was still spiking. He has a bad BAD ear infection again.  One ear is all bloody from the infection the other is severely swollen! The nurses and doc couldn't get the temp below 104 with having him stark naked doing a wash cloth bath. UNTIL... I finally said let's do an I.V. to help. Well it helped but dropped it so fast (102.5) that he had a small seizure. We slowed the I.V. down and let it do its job. He barfed a few times. All over me;) We finally got it down to 99.4 around 12:45 and he was finally himself. Walking around the doctors office asking for suckers and talking to everyone. It was night and day difference. So scary how fast the infection attacked him. I can't imagine being 40 minutes away what would have happened:/
We are trying to stay positive and know others have it much harder but this is our story and it's getting hard and very taxing on our patience! We know it will pass and are hopeful it will be soon.
Ryan, Payton, Hayden and Gavin are down for the count and it would be nice to spend Christmas in good health! If not we will be grateful for what we have and that we are at least together!
-side note: he got tubes put in the beginning of November due to having 10 DOUBLE ear infections in his 2-1/2 years.

HERE'S TO A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY AND HEALTHIER NEW YEAR!!!

HAPPY 7TH GAVIN!
I finally got to hold him. Not for long though, because they knew something was wrong! The next time I saw him he was in this contraption:(
I think that is when it sunk in. I remember after all the chaos died down I realized I was left alone in my room. Ry and his dad flew off with Gavin and others had stepped out for various reasons. I remember my mom telling me she all of a sudden thought "Oh my gosh, I think Brandi is alone!" So she came back to me but in the mean time I had frantically pushed my nurse button to get someone in my room because I was letting it hit me:( I cried to a complete stranger until my mom came back. The staff actually from that point on wouldn't even let me use the potty without someone in there because of my fragile mind at the time. It was so awkward but I am grateful for their thoughtfulness!!

This is Gavin in Denver before surgery.

And... after surgery. You can see the white strip of tape on his belly. Yep he was glued shut;)
Ry finally getting to see him after the operation.
Grandpa Steve went with Ryan and Gav. (I still have jealousy issues I think) but couldn't have asked for a better support for Ryan to have by his side!
Reagan finally meeting her baby brother. We had him at 2:22 so we knew Reagan wouldn't be up to see him and then with what happened this was a sacred moment to me because his condition was 50/50 that she would even see him alive:/
3 days after giving birth to him I finally got to see my baby!
And... my second time holding him. He was 4 days old and it was a quick and careful holding at that;) but amazing!
My mom flew over with Reagan and I to help out and I will never forget it!!!! She helped us through some hard times!
I believe this was the day we got to take him home!!!;)  Scary but so exciting! Reagan played doctor on him  for a month;)
These last 4 are of him graduating Kindegarten and hunting with dad!  He is such a funny kid. Talks constantly and can't whisper;) He has a very tender spirit yet voices his opinion on food he hates:) He is a star basketball player. Don't worry I have already told him he is not allowed to play football. You know with a fake body part sewn to his ribcage I figured he would understand:/ Maybe Im wrong but I pray he never wants to play!!!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAVIN! Love you Goopta Butt

10K/TRIATHAMOM 2012

The first 4 are of my mom, SIL and me doing our first 10k. It went well up to the part that I ended up in the back of an ambulance getting an I.V. for being dehydrated and had some heat exhaustion. So dumb!  I didn't take care of myself for this race as I should have. I was also in school and studying my BRAINS out and sick from it;/  I am glad I did it though! The kids got to take part in the ice cream so they couldn't complain much!

Triathamom...
I had the BEST time ever.  It was so unified and so empowering to see women from all ages to body types complete this.  I am so proud of all of the women that did it! I am so excited to do it again next year. I am hoping to add a few more ladies to the group:) LOVED IT!!! Thanks to all the family that came out and supported us!
