Paper + Plastick Resin Skulls & Giant Dice Drop On Friday Jan 26

by
Pretty sick resin skulls- looks like they are double-dipped! And the giant die looks like a novel and beautiful new resin object. Find these and WAY more at the Paper + Plastik shop on Friday January 26 at 3pm:

Interestingly, the artist behind Paper + Plastick is Vinnie Fiorello of bad ass punk band Less Than Jake:

I'm Vinnie Fiorello, longtime punk rocker, vinyl record fan, vinyl toy fan, toy collector and producer. I play drums in LESS THAN JAKE, celebrating our 26th year and I release records and toys under both WUNDERLAND WAR and PAPER + PLASTICK.  Early on Mike Becker from early FUNKO days mentored me and my love of toys and that set a path that has lead me to more and more opportunities and ideas.

The 3D Hero Births A Hero

by

"As the last of my kind, I knew what needed to be done. I had to seek justice for my fellow Bot brethren that have fallen victim to the Nameless. Our forefathers that once signified peace and unity have now become the source of our demise. As my eyes fall for the last time, I grasp my enemy's skull. Behind it I notice a series of characters that seem to say GNX...S.  It is with my dying breath that I recite this ode: 'I was created to ensure safety. I was created to construct. I was created to provide the citizens of this fair city a utopia in which all their desires would be fulfilled.'
 -I am Genesis."

The 3D Hero is back at it again! This time he's giving you something so big that it could only be making its debut at New York Comic Con this week! Hero has been invited to participate in Martian Toys' "Not Another Skull Show" which features the Break skull created by Bowo Baghaskara as a blank.

As the story goes, Genesis is the last remaining of  fleet of Caution Bots called GNX-2.  These Bots are responsible for creation of all the land in 3D Hero City. They come as an advancement from the original robots of the city which have long been outcast due to their lack of technology and willingness to adapt. The gained the term Nameless, as they became so obsolete that no one could remember who they were. The Nameless decided that it was time to stop the progression of 3D Hero City and destroy the entire fleet of GNX-2...except for one.

What they didn't plan on happening was that one of these would become aware as to what was happening and then choose to fight back. The battle was long, the fight was hard but in the end it was the last standing GNX-2 prevailed. He assumed his name was Genesis because to him the '2' favored the letter 'S'.

This piece, along with the rest of the entries can be found at the Martian Toys Booth #679 at New York Comic Con beginning on October 5,2017. To see more of The 3D Hero, follow him on InstagramFacebook and Twitter.

Haunted by Innocence by TaskOne

by

Task One just gave us the heads up on his latest piece, Haunted by Innocence.  I just finished re-reading IT so pretty much anything with a grip of balloons is haunting to me, much less a little skull girl with a tag-a-long teddy bear.  This 10" tall piece features Huck Gee's Skullhead rotocast in resin by Task One.  Only 7 pieces were made and a few have already been claimed so you better hurry if you want one on your shelf!

Patrulla-X Radioactive Rat Skulls & more coming today!

by

Patrulla-X is dropping a bunch of great stuff today. I'm especially digging these Radioactive Rats, a 3-part resin figure, limited to just four including the blue chase below. You can see they look really wild in glow mode! These are about 4" tall and will set you back $25.

You'll also be able to score two other versions of this Rat Skull. There is a similar 2-piece black "Oil Slick" version, with the same kind of barrel as Radioactive Rat for $20, or you can pick up a coppery old Rusty Rat on its own for just $10.
Also being teased on the blog is this 3.25" inch Brain Surgeon custom, utilizing the Muttpop Gobi as a base. He looks like just the kind of sick mind that could have sent all these innocent rats to their doom! There will actually be three of these available for $35 each.

All of these will come packaged in custom handmade boxes and this is where you want to be today to be get them:

Apocalypse Calaverita by The Beast Brothers

by

The Beast Brothers recently released the "Apocalypse Calaverita" for purchase. This limited edition 6" fiberglass Calaverita is hand painted, signed and numbered by the artists. The bright colors pop against the darker color of the Calaverita, making it a great addition to any collection. I expect to see more limited edition Calaveritas in the future, of all sorts of designs and colors. That is unless, the apocalypse actually does take place.

From the Beast Brothers Apocalypse Calaverita product page:

There are many legends about the apocalypse skulls but no one knows for sure their origin. The secret Knights of Quetzalcoatl were the guardians of the skulls, but once the conquistadores came they where hidden in a secret chamber and forgotten.

This ancient artifacts' sole function is to balance and contain within the forces that could bring the apocalypse upon this world. The Mayans, being the Aztecs enemies, tried to burry the knowledge of this powerful skulls, making the World think that the end was imminent. But there is still hope that once these skulls are scattered all over the world the balance will return, avoiding the end of our civilization.
Each 6" fiber glass skull is hand painted, signed and numbered by the artists.

Available for purchase now on the Beast Brothers store for $150 plus shipping and limited to only 21 pieces. While you are at it, why not pick up the Black Calaverita as well.

Resin Skulls by Niall "Trutek" Anderson

by
Recently a few new and dedicated people have begun writing about and participating in the designer toy industry... one of these people is Niall "Tru:tek" Anderson. Hailing from the UK, Tru:tek seems to be into dubstep as well as art toys. You might recognize him as the guy behind Man-E-Toys, which you can follow on Facebook and Twitter.

Well, Niall and I have been in touch and he decided to send me some of his resin skulls- one fancy painted and bejewelled one and of course a Tenacious Blue colorway which he marked as 1/1 on the packaging.

These skulls fit right into my resin skull collection! They're up on top of my computer along with resin skulls from Matt A*, JC Rivera, Kris Dulfer and We Become Monsters

Definitely check out Man-E-Toys.com as it's an interesting site that covers a lot of interesting art toys... looks like Niall has a penchant for outside-the-box stuff just like I do.

HUGE THANKS TO TRUTEK!
