I was happy to accept the price the buyer offered even though it was £800 less than their winning bid. The buyer said he wasn't given all the information I'd supplied to carwow, notably the number of... See more

Selling my car was easy and effortless…
Selling my car was easy and effortless with Carwow. A few picture and honesty about my vehicle had my car picked up within 45minutes after all the agreements.
Better selling experience all round
Having sold cars through other websites and methods and had some really poor experiences I couldn’t fault any aspect of selling through Carwow
Website easy to use, got a good price and the buying dealer was good to his word.
Very easy and a better sold price than dealer trade-in
Very easy. This is the second time I have sold through carwow and it’s still a slick process. There is a bit of prep needed with your car to get the best price on auction day I feel (just read the Carwow guides carefully to get it right). Very happy with price sold for which was £1.5k higher than what BMW offered to trade in against a new car (and weirdly, it was a BMW dealer who won the auction too!
Price chipping masterclass
After lengthy and meticulous uploading of images and documents, I sold my car to Car Pod Group (Asad Riaz) for an agreed price of £4,580. On the day, however, the person inspecting the vehicle and the guy buying it, who was on the end of the phone, worked in tandem to price chip. I was told the car was only worth £3,000. After 15 minutes of back and forth, I eventually managed to get £3,500 because, I was told, it was "a bereavement sale", like he was doing me a favour because I was a grieving son. The whole thing is close to being a con in my opinion. Dealers on Carwow clearly overbid then price chip. I'm sure they get good bonuses for saving, in my case, £1,080. Sure, I was under no obligation to sell, but I was out of time dealing with my mum's estate, and I needed the car gone. If I had my time again, I would either sell to a private individual or else at a local dealership. Anything, basically, to avoid the hassle of uploading endless images only to then be price chipped by a trained and cynical negotiator.
Carwow allowing unethical dealers to bid
Carwow have known they have a dealer bidding cars and then pushing the price down on collection day and still allowed this dealer to bid on my car and turn up a week later offering almost 1k below the agreed bid price on the day of auction. This is absolutely unethical behaviour and has completely cost me time and money. The dealer is Swale auto services in Richmond. They came on the day with every intention on offering a fixed amount in their mind which was almost 1k lower. Carwow were already investigating this dealer for his unethical and unacceptable practice of pushing prices further down when it comes to collection day and paying, however emailed me to tell me it's ok to go ahead to meet the dealer as agreed. This dealer should have been blacklisted and it's dissapointing that carwow allowed someone else to have their time and money wasted like this. Do not use carwow they do not have sellers best interest at all.
The status shown on the Carwow website…
The status shown on the Carwow website does not always match the buyer’s actual progress, which makes the selling process difficult to follow. The buyer also seemed determined to negotiate the agreed price down by looking for additional minor damage or dents that could be repaired relatively easily. I understand that genuine defects may justify a small reduction, but they should not result in a substantial drop from the original agreed price.

Check stock availability…
Setting up an appointment with the dealer was smooth and the level of communication good. Unfortunately the car which Carwow directed me to was not in fact available, which to me felt misleading. Thanks to the staff at the dealer a suitable alternative was eventually reached, otherwise the exercise would have been a waste of time.

I had a mixed experience with Carwow
I had a mixed experience with Carwow. Their website does promise things that do not always happen and emails are not always answered. my car was initially purchased by a dealer in the auction, but they failed to follow through with the payment and collection. No reason was given. I emailed to ask about next steps (as their website suggests you do) but got no reply. In the end I called and spoke to someone who said that the vehicle would go into the next auction. It didn't. I called again and a person with experience of the motor trade offered advice which I took. In the second auction the vehicle made reserve and the transaction went more smoothly. If the procedure had worked the first time of asking it would have been excellent, but my experience was more negative through the poor communication and lack of follow up except, of course, when being asked for a Trustpilot review.

Easy way to sell your car
I recently sold my car through Carwow. Whilst the process is relatively simple it does require you to have a reasonable amount of tech know-how. It was a worthwhile experience as I got more for my car than I was offered as a trade-in and Carwow were there at each stage to help things go smoothly.
